@@RevingTanks The main problem with school system is: it is masons given for their need of slaves. I have never cared about grades, as i seen it clearly how out of logic are these given. Schools ain`t real use and grades are made ups, a fear propaganda, to keep students under control. And true, no thinking, student who dare to think, be aware ridiculous problems heading towards you. School systems = masonic agenda to dumb down mankind. Sadly, they have succeeded, but each of us have a chance to turn it all around: BIBLE. Without the BIBLE and the understanding of it, real life stays unseen, unknown. Ask for truth and allow BIBLE to shine. The only need for school is; basic knowledge: - reading - writing - math - BIBLE After this, no need for further “schooling”.
I can't relate more!!! If you asked me to recite anything from a recent test, there would be absolutely no way I could tell you what I learned. Mostly because I didn't learn anything, I just crammed random information in my head that made no sense so I could do well on a test.😂😔
@@michi2819 That is an accurate representation of a test. The problem of our modern education is that students don't strive to learn but only strive to get a good mark. With class rank, we students are judged by testing and memorizing, not who we are. The education system can still teach us this content, but it shouldn't make us memorize what we learn just for a test. Grades are the sole reason why school happens to be more stressful.
Grades don't help students learn, because they don't care for the process of how they got the score they got: they just care for the fact that they got a score that unsatisfies them and will unsatisfy their parents. If we get rid of grades (bit by bit, because obviously such a change would be hard to do automatically), then we get rid of the care for only the result and instead care for what itty places within our work would require the improvement so that next time it's better.
Dear school, I have to thank you very much for the things you've done for me. Not only have you killed my creativity and given me low self esteem, but you gave me what could border on depression and all in all bad mental health. You've taught me nothing despite it being your job. The internet did a better job at that. Yours truly, A student with straight As. Mom, I'm famous
And i have borderline personality disoder cause of school, added to that school never taught me how to talk to people(as example how to even get the courage to start talking to a stranger), how to stand up to bullies, how to get a job, gsve me social anxiety and, according to my therapist, made me just about to get depressed. So yeah, thanks school lmao
School feels like an awful addiction at this point. I toil away for so long to get my monthly fix of A’s, yet I no longer feel the same sensation of happiness or satisfaction that I used to.
Ugh. I can see that happenning with me, but I don't show these things to my parents. Sometimes I show my mom some random memes I found on Reddit that are slightly offensive and end up with a half an hour lecture, added onto by more stress about school work and then more at 10 at night. It's a cycle and it's freaking annoying.
What I got from school (still going through): -Lack of sleep -Being judged on appearance -Toxic friends -Stress -Head aches -Lack of motivation for.. anything -And no beneficial gain
@@TheLightShines Depends on what your dream job is, because there are companies that don’t require a degree anymore, heck you can even start your own company without a degree, an example of that is Walt Disney.
I met someone back in highschool who was very academically inconsistent, he had failing grades on a semester and sometimes tops the class on another; everyone in the batch knew he was brilliant. He was the type of student (or maybe the only one) who doesn't give a fuck about deadlines, one time he passed a project 2 weeks after the due and the teacher absolutely scolded him then gave him a failing grade (of course), but what he learns in classーstays with himーthen proceeded to ace every exam later without reviewing. Up to this point the most badass student I've seen, since then, my perspective of grades was never the same.
Dude same my grades are inconsistent as heck sometimes i would get a 3/15 in a quiz and sometimes actually get 55/60 in an exam😂😂 and also half of my report card is over 90 and at least 1 is like 79 or some sh (passing is 75) and also i start working on my assignments at deadlines😂😂😂
Thanks school, you gave me nothing but: - Puffy eyes from crying over projects - Scoliosis - Extra weight - Bloodshot eyes from doing work online - Depression - Anxiety - A shittier personality, although I already didn’t have a good one to start with in the first place. It just got worse ;)
I remember when I was younger, like, 7. I was a very creative child, I mean, every child was. But years later, I have lost a lot of my creativity. I am now a very formulaic person, I need to have instructions and I hate taking risks. Thank you school, thanks
I recommend writing small books and stories during your free time, not only will they keep your creativity alive you could also have a backup plan of being an author if school fails.
The only things I got from school are (tw) -depression -suicidal thoughts -stress -a self harm addiction -existential dread - feelings of inadequacy - emotional eating -hopelessness -no desire to be better But hey, at least I know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
"Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" These few simple words carry so much knowledge. This statement inspires me to learn more and become successful in life.
what school taught me -lunch sucks -hide ur emotions or the counselor starts dialing ur parents -self esteem goes skrt skrt -mental and emotional state is not important, just study -MITOCHONDRIA IS THE POWER HOUSE OF THE CELL
There was a school where mastery was a method of learning, when I transfered, I never knew about textbooks in the first place, then after a few months of transferring, my mental health was unstable, it's like my brain was going upside down and sideways trying to process everything
It’s sad how grades seem to determine kids' worth. Edit: For those attacking me in the comments saying that mental health doesn't matter or if we don't go to college and acquire thousands of dollars in debt, we won't be successful, let me tell you this. This stigma that is centered around manual labor jobs has to stop. A lot of people often say that if you don't go to college, you will end up being a garbage man, plumber, janitor, or truck driver. We have been told that as if it's a bad thing. But actually, these jobs are very important to the upkeep of our neighborhood, city, state, and county. And some of these jobs pay well.
I used to love school, because I liked learning. But when I started to get the feeling that actually learning didn’t matter to anyone as much as doing what you’re told when you’re told exactly how to do it, I started to hate it. It doesn’t take a genius to get good grades. Its just getting you used to following orders for the rest of your life. I went from “honor roll” to 70s and 80s. The only thing about me that changed was whether or not I was doing the work they gave me.
By the time my seventh-grade year rolled around, I nearly gave up my love for reading and creative writing. They shove down useless and boring facts down your throat and your intelligence is defined based on what you remember.
It sounds like you are talking about the Turkish grade system. And if you are- i feel you 😂. At least Americans are aware that the system is bad. Turkish parents and teachers don’t even realize and force their kids to finish 500 questions from every subject EVERY. SINGLE. DAY
Same. I used to love learning, still do. I have this bizarre obsession with learning something new, asking questions and being curious. I have always been a bright student not because I studied for exams but due to the fact that I enjoyed the process. But some way or the other, now I have fallen into this pothole of getting good grades. Getting good grades WHATSOEVER, every single time! Everyone around me is "learning" for grades! Everyone is wondering what question is gonna be there on the test! And I don't like it. I have been kind of accustomed to believe that grades are everything and that you have to do whatever you can to make that happen. Is it even "learning"? Since the time, I realised that nobody really cares about knowledge that much, I too somewhat started to run after grades and I started to hate it! I have realised that I don't challenge myself, that I am probably not so creative anymore and yes, that my grades are worse now. That curious me is hidden somewhere within but it's still there. I sometimes want to be what I was, without getting influenced by what everybody else is doing.
The G In Genesis I love learning different languages and things at home, but for example the second I go into Spanish class it like “okay time for another test. Here are 35 questions please chose A. B. C. or D. for you answer” and I’m immediately bored 😐
Why is this so me? I use to be in Top 10, love math, get all subjects 87+ which I see is decent and good but now I just wanna die every time I have to change classes. I just want my grades to be 85+ at some point at the end of every quarter and screw every homework given to me even if it was from 2 classes I like. I started to feel hopeless at home and at school. Being at my friend's house or free time at school feels like the only time I can breath properly.
In my elementary school, I met a popular girl. She opened up to me, and said she had to call the principal, (a nice woman) over to her house because she was scared she was going to hurt herself. Her parents were divorced and didn't help her with her mental problems. She was a straight A student. She was afraid of committing suicide. I haven't seen her around much, but I hope she's getting better. Thanks school.
I feel like we're gonna see videos and articles just like this one... Over and over... For the next several decades. And meanwhile, the school system will continue to be just as shitty as it always has been. Nothing ever changes.
Sending virtual hugs to anyone damaged by the school system. I know how you feel. My fifth grade teacher didn't like me because I worked slowly. I also had trouble focusing on work and she would always call me out in front of the class. At the time, I loved the Ninja Turtles and would draw them in my notebook and on my folders. I didn't have many friends because I struggled with social anxiety. One day, I couldn't find my homework and my teacher grabbed a garbage bin from the hallway. She put it next to my desk and told the whole class "We're going to watch Natalie throw away all of her Ninja Turtle drawings because they aren't real." I was so humiliated. Sorry for the long story. I'm going to be 25 soon, so I survived that situation and I know you guys can too.
My 2nd grade teacher ripped my essay paper apart in front of my face because I “finished too fast.” Never liked my teachers since until I met my 6th grade teachers who actually challenged me to understand the material better. Shout out to my 6th grade English and Science teachers
My teacher told me a story one time. She had a valedictorian student that had straight A's in her class (due to excellent memory) but in the future, ended up becoming a clerk. The person that enjoyed learning (more hands-on approach) became a businessman abroad and is on the brink of becoming a millionaire. This goes to show that while having good grades may open up many opportunities in life, it is not a basis for how your life will become in the future. Memorization may be important to retain information, but the application of topics you learn in school is better.
School: - learn useless stuff - feel stupid - study for a test for hours - can’t sleep from studying - get a bad grade even after studying - feel even more stupid - forget everything the next day *repeat the same process **every.single.day*
The problem with school is, they encourage students to study just to impress the teachers instead of teaching them to become more creative and smarter in life.
Yeah it's that in school you have to do something by the rules or you aren't gonna do great, in the world it's the exact opposite, you need creativity. Also school makes you only study for the exam, not for the knowledge you gain from it. In fact, let's say my middle school exam, I literally forgot everything when I got to the 1st year of high school
Oh sometimes i thought that i had to get A+ on most subjects to be smart but i guess i don't cause i mostly gets c's b's and some f's :( especially in math i always seem to get an F i suck at math
School isn't meant to be fun! It's meant to be a preparation for college or vocational training so one can become a good professional. Yeah, fun is good, but if you have too many fun you forget about your responsibilities.
@@lapaula_fj_ What's the point when you forget most of the sh*t you learn tho? You can say it's because you don't study but at the end of the day that's not true. Plenty people study and that doesn't stop them from forgetting things over breaks. Yeah school isn't meant to be fun no one is saying it is. But if my grades determine my self worth, I would rather they fix the school system. You don't need these things to be a good professional. If school is supposed to and help all these things. How could the outcome is always different? Oh it's because the school system is sh*t and they need to fix it. What responsiblieis? Memorizing things but not actually learning. lmao wow yeah that will definitely parpare me for in succes in life.
@@aliyalove4518 You're messed up, kid. I used to think as you did, but eventually I found out that the ones who say this *are the ones with more Cs, Ds and Fs (6/10 or lower in the Spanish education system).* Also, schools have different types. There is compulsory education, which helps build a foundation so then you can specialise. There are trade schools and vocational schools, which teach less academic professional pathways, and then there are universities, which teach high-level academic contents for those who want to enter complex pofessions. Also, using your brain to memorise actually enhances your neuronal pathways and makes you stronger, less susceptible of developing dementia conditions. Third and last: stop saying the school system is (the bad word you said, missy) because this is called "projection", you're projecting how you see yourself into the "FlaWS ThaT SkoOl hAs cUz iT SuxX" and this isn't a healthy mindset. Just work hard, you'll see that higher education will actually teach you skills that you need to have for the profession you choose (from the way you write, it can be attributed to a middle-to-high schooler, someone who hasn't completed compulsory ed yet). As the ancient Romans said, valete!
Here are all the things I have unlocked and learned in school!: Material learned: -Nothing -Nothing -Nothing -Nothing What I have unlocked: -stress -insomnia -low self asteem -feeling stupid every. Single. Day :)
I honestly can’t stand parents right now like we’re fresh out of quarantine, from not seeing out friends, and depression and they expect us to just bounce back up and get good grades? And criticize the things we do? it’s like their asking us to run away 🏃♀️
Bruh ikr. My entire class expects me to tell them my score, like I owe it to them?? I mean, yeah I generally do get quite good grades but at the times I didn't, they all borderline harassed me for my scores. Fuck off, maybe I don't wanna share sometimes, ever thought of that. And you are right, meeting those expectations then being told to keep meeting them sucks. I'm sorry about the rant but I got frustrated. Peace.
my anxiety in school became so worse that i take advantage of covid and make my mom write a letter to the school so i can learn online, it still doesn't help since 90% of the teacher doesn't even contact me or even gave me any homework, at first i message my friends about homeworks but i stopped because i didn't want to be a bother, i didn't really have much friends because i just started highschool with no friend from previous school, it's so stressing that i don't have any friend to talk to and i keep getting anxiety for not studying
True. My mom was yelling at me because I have a F in English and she tells me what I've been doing instead of doing work and I told her I was watching RUclips to relieve my stress and she didn't give a damn
It's hurt as hell when i just got so many assignment, the teacher don't even contact me as that much, instead of telling me first, she already calling my mom when i get a bad grade and the next day i got slap on face.
"Grades cause anxiety and mental health problems" School: "I don't see the problem here" Edit: Wow, I didn't expect my comment to blow up like this. Just the amount of people that agree goes to show how badly made the school system is. It might sound really unrealistic, but one of my goals in life is somehow managing to fight for a better educational system, but seeing how no schools really care about what we have to say, it's really difficult immagining it working.
You make it sound like it's a bite sized problem. It's a really big task to tackle, we could riot but the time it would take would be pointless if we don't have enough people who still think schools are worth anything. In reality they're worth Jack shit
@@flicknotesruinmylife Yeah, like if I didn't watch youtube in english, I wouldn't speak it very well. English lessons at school are not really teaching about important things. If I would only rely on my english skills from class I wouldn't understand songs, videos, musicals in english, and I'm happy that I can speak english almost fluently. Sometimes I'm terrifed about how little english my friends can understand. Ok, maybe I'm overreacting right now, but for me it's still strange how little english they know.
Dear School, You are always saying, “Say thank you to your teachers at graduation , they taught you for the world!” Yes, I’ll thank my teachers for giving me anxiety every year, month, week, and day. I’ll thank them for making me anxious to go to school, where I’m supposed to be excited to learn and happy to interact with the material. Not only have you lowered my self esteem with grades, and your little pop quizzes, you’ve also hurt me mentally, I started to depend how I felt and how I would act based off of my grades because of how important they are. Every single teacher has taught me nothing besides how to not deal with being stressed, instead you decided to grade us on how we have behaved, participated and communicated with not just the class, with you. Sincerely, All students.
Don't blame it on your teachers, blame the school system. Your teachers can't do anything if the school system doesn't change. Unless your teachers actually sucked.
Ok I believe that you speaking for all of us students is not fully accurate. I love 3 of my teachers. They are for Coding, creative writing and health class. Yes, school kinda doesn’t care about our mental health. But you saying that we all have this hatred for school is just plain wrong. The feeling of pure joy I get when I complete a big assignment, is so good. The work is big but, it feels so good in the end.
Same though. I'm in a public charter school or whatever,(it doesn't have a category lol 😂) and everything is like a grade higher class other than math I think(took a 9th grade math class in 7th). We have to learn Latin too 🙄. Everyday I think "oh I this due tomorrow, next Tuesday, that Friday +3 other tests uhhh oh wait I forgot math homework! Yeah. Stressful stuff. I was literally sitting right beside her for, like, 5 hours, and all that time she was getting ready for the exam that's in 7 months ._. School is killing us. Why did I write that? I have no idea.
When I was a kid, I fooled myself into think I loved school. It's only recently that I figured out I love learning, but hate school. On that day, I realized if I'm going to reach my goals, I need to take control of my education rather than rely on teachers. Read and practice what you're interested in, don't expect teachers to help you succeed. Mind you, that isn't a jab at teachers, but more of a jab at how they're trained.
Same, I love learning, but on my own pace, not forced to learn it for a test or in one quarter. That's why I hate school, it forces you to learn, and the things you learn are not even useful.
Ya, it’s like they cram information in yo head and expect you to remember it all. Bro, if there are different teachers for different subjects, then how can kids ace in every single one? 🤷♀️

I'm an American high school student, and I recommend keeping a document where u write down creative ideas, thoughts, and fields of interest. It can remind u of what work u want to pursue after graduating high school, and how the type of learning that u actually enjoy is not associated with grades
@@lexAlleviate It could range from philosophical thoughts, designing a prototype of something u could build, planning a piece of art u could create, writing down scientific questions, etc. Even if u don't research those scientific questions, create that piece of art, or build that prototype, it's still helpful to physically write your ideas and perhaps reference them later in life when u are deciding what work u want to pursue.
I'm not from the US but every time I asked teachers why grades even matter or what is the point of their subjects I always got the "stop asking uncomfortable questions" type of response. Now when I look back at it from the perspective of an adult I'm pretty sure that they just didn't want to accept the fact that there is no point.
@@Alex-eb6je I agree with that. Not to mention the fact that they also wake you up early in the morning. Most of the time I’m tired while I’m at school so I’m never in the mood to learn about anything.
my parents say that it's all "learning", bullshit, we learn shit we have to memorize to pass papers that we'll forget and NEVER use in life, unless it's connected to the job that we want: plus, the jobs right now probably won't be available in a few years so it's fucking useless...

Honestly I don’t think they’re that bad anymore, I just can’t bring myself to fully trust or even like them.
This is gonna be a long one, so thank you to anyone who reads through :D I love learning, but not everyone else does. Some of the kids at my school just don't give a crap, simply because they've been burnt out by the system and have never had the opportunity to foster their learning. This sucks, and I think the system is totally flawed; not only do people have to focus on academic achievement, (which to the schools is getting a good G.P.A and doing well on standardized tests) kids nowadays have peer pressure to worry about. These two facets, in combination with parents who don't promote a child to enjoy learning can, and has, in many cases resulted in depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and a ruined perception of learning in general. Building on those ideas, it is utterly STUPID, yes, completely and entirely brainless of a parent to judge their child's worth based off of their grades. I will admit, that if a child is doing badly in school, measures should be taken to correct that, but to demean, to physically or verbally abuse a kid for doing badly in school, that is crossing a line. My family has, throughout my life, wholly supported me in highs and in times where I'm kind of just sucking and I believe that is a major key to success. That the main authority figure(s) in your life care about you, not just a number or a letter that we have come to see as identity, and that they take the time and effort, when they can, to assist you in difficult times. This is a major difficulty in society today. Kids are being expected to figure out school, social identity, (that's a whole different and even more difficult obstacle to tackle) and how to succeed in life without any careful input from others in their life. Usually, when this is the case, lives trail into disaster very quickly. One of the ways that this can happen, is through untouched, unserved mental illness. Depression and other stress triggered mental illnesses are way too common to ignore, and they seem to target teens and young adults. They can be caused by other means, but it is an all too frequent occurrence for a teen to commit suicide because of social pressures in their life. People in that age range are already going through a tough period of change, and adding social and academic stresses can tip them over the edge, causing them to end their own lives. THIS IS CRAZY!!! People around us struggle daily and we avoid them for fear of getting hit with the same type of bullying that they experience, and even worse, we sometimes fuel their sadness. I know I've gotten off the topic of grades, but in this context, the stress of grades is only an added tedium in the mess of adolescence, making life that much harder for anyone already having a difficult time persevering. I have to end this somewhere, and I know that there's so much more that could be said, but let me summarize. The system is flawed. All of us are feeling the negative affects of the society we live in, especially those who are now, studying for tests that don't really matter. These affects are made increasingly dramatic by peer pressure, parental shaming or abuse, and no on really has a get out of jail free card. We all have to find value somewhere and putting that in grades has driven people into depression and other terrible paths that could certainly be avoided, 'cept they weren't. My hope to everyone reading is that, we all find ways daily to ease this pressure on those around us. Many of us can't directly change the education system from our circumstance right now, but we can indirectly affect the experiences of others. Good luck out there!
Students do have more free time than teachers, teachers have to do a lot of stuff after school, like grading papers from multiple students and much more. I'm not trying to imply that students don't have stress after school, they do, but teachers do way more and get less free time.
Schooling murdered my creativity. I haven't drawn in so long, and I have no motivation to write stories. But at the same time I don't have motivation to work hard. It won't matter when I'm dead.

You pretty much just become disillusioned by grades at that point. I’m trying to detach myself from the pressure of failing at school. I try to tell myself that failing is ok and its necessary in order to improve and succeed, but school makes it pretty hard to succeed in their academic system with this mindset.
Even with Finland's education system being praised as one of the best, I still feel like it has a lot to improve on, even in reasonable limits. As an 18-yo student here I can say we do have high standards of teachers here, secondary education has recently been made completely free and stuff has definitely got better over some reforms, but I and many others don't agree with everything and cuts to education budget have been made. School books are often inefficient at teaching alone because of them being conufsing, too brief or overly lengthy and dull, so we need good teachers. The system is far from perfect and it's hard to explain shortly how.

Randall W You kinda misunderstood me xD. I want to be a 3D animator, right? Well here in Norway, grades are from 1-6, and when trying to get in a line of study, your average grade decides if you can or not. I want to study 3D animation, but my grade in freaking physical education could drag my average down and make me not able to study it. NONE of the subjects in the Norwegian school system has any direct relevance to 3D animation, but the degree I master that stupid irrelevant shit, like WW2, has an effect on if I can study 3D animation or not. That’s the problem, I wasn’t talking about MD.
@Randall W I'm passing PE, my grade is from 3-4, but this is lower than on other subjects, therefore ruining my total average. I will most likely be able to study 3D animation, but not having the time to exercise and get better grades in PE due to other things like other subjects, it could still result in me not getting in the school i want if my average was lower. I'm constantly (learning) things in school totally irrelevant to what i want to do in life, but the degree i master those irrelevant things has an effect on if i can work with what i want or not. This is counterproductive since if i could spend more time actually focusing on 3D animation, instead of learning where the powerhouse of the cell is, i would've been a master in 3D art by now.
This honestly makes me even more thankful for my 7th grade teacher. She actually cared about our mental health and didn't have test scores be most of our grades(it was about 5%). She even had us write about our problems so we could just vent.
I agree, I had a 7th grade teacher and if I could ever have the chance to have him again, I would. The thing is though it actually felt like he taught in the right way, literally to the point that I can do tests now cause I remember I used to be so bad at doing tests but his teaching helped me out so much on that and I just feel like that’s what we need more of, teachers that actually teach and aren’t just giving us random boring knowledge shit that they expect us to remember by just talking about it and giving us a paper.
@Biglyp technically they wouldn't but they HAVE to as exams are valued significantly not just by teachers and parents but buy society as a whole Also, most tests don't test “learning” but rather test “ memory” and one’s ability to memorise information Also, exams discourage creativity
@Biglyp dude listen, for example, if you program something to achieve a particular task, it's gonna do whatever it takes to achieve it, no matter the cost, because it isn't told on what it should do to achieve that task... same goes for us students... the education system has made students to just focus only on getting good grades and nothing else, without telling us how to get those good grades properly... i aint tellin all teachers are bad, shoutout to those really good and open minded teachers out there who genuinely care about the student's well being more than their grades... but really, this world has such a messed up education system, especially in asia... i m not assuming things here cuz i m an asian (indian)... and education in india is really getting out of hand... they implement new style of learning in the name of applying the creativity skills in students, but none of it works

I love to learn, but I hate going to school. I’ve had awful teachers who had yelled at me for using the color yellow. I want to be creative and not just listen to someone speak, write it down, memorize it, write it on a test, and then forgot it so I can “learn” something else. Sorry for rambling haha
My guess is on the flaws of the current education system, memorize stuff and learn straigth paths, instead of teaching how things applies and how to translate it for everyone so they can understand it
That’s sad, the school I go to have really nice teachers. And their explanation is really easy to understand, so almost everyone in the class I go to have perfects grade. But I hope you’ll get better teachers
Self-learning is only useful for the basics, if you wanna progress you have to go to trad studies. Take my example, I started learning Japanese by myself but had to transition to a language school, because things like counters, て (te) form of the verb and kanji studying are better with a teacher.

The valedictorian from my graduating class (out of 747 people) ended up dropping out of college and working at a fast food restaurant. She had so much potential and would get the highest grades out of any of us in the hardest classes. It’s a shame to see her talent go to waste, but this showed me that having the highest GPA doesn’t matter.
Lol. I've been watching these kinds of videos lately trying to convince myself that grades aren't everything but like I never listen to them and continue to suffer mentally.
You can't escape grades you can't escape stress you can't escape agony the more you know this fact the more longer you have to suffer this hell we call life, this life doesn't forgive you you don't matter the reason you are here is to serve a greater person, whoever that is ,if you bow down to that one person along with others you will be like ants small and worth less to the queens small and worthless to humans we are small and worthless to whales this is the life we pretend to enjoy and laugh with but that is the lie we all tell ourselves, if you want to be like the others , worshiping the ones greater than us be like them if you want to go ahead,if you want to be the greater one stand up for what you believe in , this is your life ,your story ,like me I will not be a puppet to the others greater than me i am my own self , this life sure is unfair, but that's why we must try to beat our enemies don't let others tell you what you are, you will find that out when you finally stand up for what you want whatever that is , all I am saying is you can get through whatever is going on don't be afraid, you can be the greater person that's all I have to say thank you for reading

I can't relate more!!! If you asked me to recite anything from a recent test, there would be absolutely no way I could tell you what I learned. Mostly because I didn't learn anything, I just crammed random information in my head that made no sense so I could do well on a test.😂😔
Yes, you're so right.
It’s educational bulimia
@@michi2819 That is an accurate representation of a test. The problem of our modern education is that students don't strive to learn but only strive to get a good mark. With class rank, we students are judged by testing and memorizing, not who we are. The education system can still teach us this content, but it shouldn't make us memorize what we learn just for a test. Grades are the sole reason why school happens to be more stressful.
Holy Frick. Too relatable

I love learning, but not everyone else does.
Students: stressed

"If you don't know the ATP yield of the Electron Transport Chain in a mitochondria while also knowing the exact peak population of Constantinople, you're a failure."
@Randall W What are you talking about? It's about interest and enthusiasm over specific passions, and that has an effect of what you remember and not.
Just like Blu Rain on the movie, Precious.
That sounds like a blessing
I agree, I had a 7th grade teacher and if I could ever have the chance to have him again, I would. The thing is though it actually felt like he taught in the right way, literally to the point that I can do tests now cause I remember I used to be so bad at doing tests but his teaching helped me out so much on that and I just feel like that’s what we need more of, teachers that actually teach and aren’t just giving us random boring knowledge shit that they expect us to remember by just talking about it and giving us a paper.
“When students cheat on exams, it’s because our school system values grades more than students value learning,” stated Neil deGrasse Tyson
I legit had the same thought and opinion
@Biglyp he is saying that children would never cheat if schools did not program our minds into getting good grades.
@Biglyp tests are there to paste the lesson you copied in the mind and will never use it in your life
@Biglyp technically they wouldn't but they HAVE to as exams are valued significantly not just by teachers and parents but buy society as a whole
Also, most tests don't test “learning” but rather test “ memory” and one’s ability to memorise information
Also, exams discourage creativity
What school taught me:
-Useless Algebra
-How to hold in pee for 9 hours
-How to appear completely fine, but I'm actually very confused.

I love to learn, but I hate going to school. I’ve had awful teachers who had yelled at me for using the color yellow. I want to be creative and not just listen to someone speak, write it down, memorize it, write it on a test, and then forgot it so I can “learn” something else. Sorry for rambling haha
My guess is on the flaws of the current education system, memorize stuff and learn straigth paths, instead of teaching how things applies and how to translate it for everyone so they can understand it
This is so true!!!
That’s sad, the school I go to have really nice teachers. And their explanation is really easy to understand, so almost everyone in the class I go to have perfects grade. But I hope you’ll get better teachers
My Math teacher made me feel bad about myself & I'm no longer interested in Math.
I got everything right on a mapping assignment but was docked points for using different colours than the ones in the book :,)

Self-learning is only useful for the basics, if you wanna progress you have to go to trad studies. Take my example, I started learning Japanese by myself but had to transition to a language school, because things like counters, て (te) form of the verb and kanji studying are better with a teacher.

I get a C in math and my dad thinks I’m going to be a failure when I grow up. I’m not kidding.
It was ONE C. This only happened because of my COVID laziness too. I usually get A’s. My GPA was higher than 4 right before Thanksgiving.

I know what you mean!! My work is leaving me with absolutely no time to do the stuff I actually want to do. It's keeping me from my hobbies and it's making me lose interest in them, and my hobbies are a defining part of who I am. Instead, I'm cramming on work and information I don't give a damn about and I'm filled with stress and anxiety over it. I loathe school and their system.
I know what you mean, I was sat down and told by my teacher to give up on art because it won't help me after school. Art was my escape from everything, school only became more difficult for me after.

Omg same
I feel you
Same problem here, we can get through this together right💪🏼
You can't escape grades you can't escape stress you can't escape agony the more you know this fact the more longer you have to suffer this hell we call life, this life doesn't forgive you you don't matter the reason you are here is to serve a greater person, whoever that is ,if you bow down to that one person along with others you will be like ants small and worth less to the queens small and worthless to humans we are small and worthless to whales this is the life we pretend to enjoy and laugh with but that is the lie we all tell ourselves, if you want to be like the others , worshiping the ones greater than us be like them if you want to go ahead,if you want to be the greater one stand up for what you believe in , this is your life ,your story ,like me I will not be
a puppet to the others greater than me i am my own self , this life sure is unfair, but that's why we must try to beat our enemies don't let others tell you what you are, you will find that out when you finally stand up for what you want whatever that is , all I am saying is you can get through whatever is going on don't be afraid, you can be the greater person that's all I have to say thank you for reading
yeah we're all tryna comfort ourselves after getting bad grades so we go to videos like this...sigh

I never cheat because I think it's dishonorable. And I fail simply because I'm bad at doing the assignments that are weighted the highest. And I hate myself as a result.

yup.

Quizzes or exams = 20 or 40%
Assignments = 100%
james wasda Mine is more like Test average 95% homework average 10%. If i’m going to show up i might as well pay attention while i’m there and use any time there to do small amounts of homework or studying but like hell am i going to waste my time at home doing that nonsense. And since homework is only like 10% of my grade and tests/quizzes are 90% i can maintain an A- to A average as long as i pay attention and work while i’m there
