  • This is a guide to removing and installing the stator cover on the Yamaha MT/FZ 07. All bolts were torqued to 10Nm (7ft lbs) of torque. The 2 bolts at the bottom of the stator cover were the only ones that required loctite. A new gasket is necessary for a new stator cover. The copper washer and O Rings are strongly recommended as well. However, not mandatory especially if your bike has low miles.
    This is just video on how I did it. It’s not the only way of doing this. Please refer to the service manual for proper factory guidance on installation and removal.

    Hey how did you get the torx screws out for the sensor, I've tried to undo them by hand they just seem to be stripping the bolts themselves. Did you have a special tool to do it?

    • @Double_T333
      @Double_T333  Год назад

      From what I remember, I used an impacted gun with a torx bit to get them out. But you should be able to remove it with a ratchet

    What did you use, or what works best for cleaning off the old gasket. There's a residue that's pretty on there and trying to clean it is getting everywhere 😅

    • @Double_T333

      I used a fresh razor blade and carefully scraped off the residue. Scotch bright helped too but the razor blade was faster and more effective

      @@Double_T333 finished putting mine together. Still got other things to replace 😅. Hoping I get no leak, and good luck on your bike👍🏼

    How did you put the bearing back in ?

    • @Double_T333
      @Double_T333  11 месяцев назад +1

      I put the bearing in the freezer for a few minutes to slightly shrink the bearing and heated the spot on the cover where the bearing goes with a torch to slightly expand the metal. Might need to gently tap it in with a mallet too

    How'd you end up getting the bearing out without damaging it?

    • @Different-Level
      @Different-Level 2 года назад

      Heating it up and smacking it out with a hammer from the other side

    • @Double_T333
      @Double_T333  2 года назад

      Had to heat up in an oven, banged it out with a rubber mallet

      @@Double_T333 I know this is an old video but would appreciate a response if you see this.
      Is the bearing is supposed to sit flush when it's installed? I've just gone to install a new bearing into a new case, looks about half hay in but wont go any further like it's finished.
      Did put bearing in freezer and heat up case before. Tapped in with a socket and mallet too.

      @@IN_ZANE_ huh interesting. My bearing was my old used one so idk if that made a difference. Have you tried putting some oil in the spot where the bearing goes after heating the cover and freezing the bearing? If that doesn’t work, I would resort to getting a bearing setter kit.

      @@Double_T333 Hey thanks for the quick reply. No didn't try oil, managed to get the bearing back out so I'll try again with some oil. Maybe I didn't get the case hot enough, I blasted it with a heat gun on high for a few mins, maybe a torch is needed?
      Only bearing tools I've seen is a bearing puller that needs open end on both sides, or a hydraulic press. Not sure what a bearing setter tool is.
      Also, assuming I ever get the bearing in, those gears that sit on the bearing and shaft, did you leave them on the cover or on the bike when you reinstalled the cover? Might be obvious when I finally get in there but be interested what worked for you

    do you know how to properly remove the generator rotor? and what flywheel puller is needed. cant find any videos on it, and the service manual doesnt really explain it too well. dont want to damage the cranks. thanks!

      I don’t unfortunately I’m sorry. Check some forums. I’ve seen dedicated flywheel pullers for this engine on eBay as well
