Most people would have wasted a shit ton of ammo without realizing that they aren't doing any damage and they would get mad. I get why people don't like these tutorials, and there's probably a better way to handle this problem, but it's the overall best option so everyone can enjoy the game.

I'm just playing it on Ultra Violence, and it took me a little while just to get past the first level. It's a different kind of difficult than Doom 2016, because in that one, you were encouraged to run balls deep into groups of demons and tear them apart like a maniac, so I played Eternal like that and I kept getting my ass kicked. Then they throw these tutorials in that tell you how to easily kill monsters and it confused me that a game that's so hard would give you baby mode advice.

Clapkrieg marauder is easy just stock up plasma and shotgun ammo and regularly switch between the super shotgun and that other plasma weapon that isn’t the rapid fire one I forgot it’s name. If you have the detonation mod for the rocket launcher that can be used for do splash and explosion damage
Shrek Well to be honest it even easier if you were able to learn their attack and mid-range also i found out that the marauder only spawn dog if you hit his shield, don't mind the people who talk about how he keep spawning the dog so often

@@thepope2412 play Ultra Nightmare then. No extra lives and when you die the game restarts from the very beginning. You could also avoid picking up the 1 ups because I can only thing of a few cases where the game inherently makes you pick one up. Although even with the 1 ups Nightmare is still, at the very least, harder than 2016's nightmare.
The problem is, you wouldn't know how to fight this boss nor the Marauder without the tutorials. Rather than developing in the style of Half Life 2 were the devs create separate and increasing challenges to fimilarise the player with a new mechanical (so you learn by observing through gameplay), id Studios took the easy cop out approach (shut up and watch this video dummy).

Honestly this is rly nit picky. And also, you need to know how to beat them, cause after that point Doom Hunters become regular enemies in the game that you actually fight fairly often. The devs are tellin you this for a reason - cause you’ll need that knowledge later.
Exactly, even though a player knows a demon's weakness doesn't mean they'll automatically win against it. You have to concentrate a ton of fire on the Doom Hunter to get its shield down, but that's no cakewalk in itself as you need to deal with surrounding enemies, manage your weapons approriately, and make sure to have a clear shot at the Hunter when its shield is down. And we all know that the game requires u to be constantly on the move as you can't stay close or entirely visible to enemies all the time. Knowing how to beat the Doom Hunter or any tough demon is no different from knowing how to double jump, dash, glory kill, etc.; you still have to get into the habit of it

Idk, I didn’t really find the tutorials that annoying tbh. It felt like they helped keep the pace of the game if anything, allowing you to quickly grasp each new enemy and encounter as they appear without having to stop your progression do to the fact that you didn’t know caucodemons eat grenades tossed at them or you can shoot off the mancubus guns or the arachnotron’s turret or that the shields can be blown up with the plasma rifle or that the maurader is ONLY hittable when his eyes flash green or the tons of other minute stuff in the game designed to make fighting more fluid and interactive. Not everyone is an expert gamer with master level of spatial awareness, and it’s nice to have the option. I understand that it does tend to interrupt the flow of gameplay, especially at the beginning and during boss fights, but I think It was still needed.
Tips are just that, tips. It never cheated me a way to kill anything. Look at the icon of sin, it just tells you to shoot down its parts, nothing about the surprise punch attack. Gladiator? Attack when eyes flash green, does not tell you ballista stuns him right away. Doom hunter, destory the sled, but he can gut you in one hit, specially in nightmare. Besides, later on I just punch the sled and he falls apart, or attack it with a rocket volley, although it seems to me the quickest way is to break his shield then blood punch him.
I turned that tutorial popup off as soon as the I got past killing the first priest, the only thing I missed was how to spend some of the tokens which I discovered about halfway through
Bruh seeing that card doesn’t make it any easier and it’s already established earlier in the game that guns that use plasma ammo can destroy energy shields super quickly so it’s basically telling you something you already know. This is like people complaint about the Marauder being too hard despite the fact that’s they’re fun to fight and not even that hard.
But they are hard. Not only that but they don't fight with the rules the game has set up. They have shields but can't be hurt by plasma weapons, they force you into one specific area because you can't be too far or too close. And they have a dog thats faster than most enemies and half the size so you don't actually see it coming if you're not only paying attention to the marauder, which you won't be if there's multiple enemies. Let's not forget that the dogs attack blinds and stun locks you. The marauder is hard because he's the most unbalanced enemy in the game.
Doom eternal is awesome and all but I just wanna say one thing the male rights video changed alot for me cuz I'm going through school now and I just the world needs more people like you

I kind of feel like the tutorial actually sets you up for failure. I find it so much harder to destroy the shield before destroying the sled. Just rush him with a full auto shotgun a couple of times and back away while taking care of some fodder enemies. Then go back in for his main body.
You know a lot of people complain about the game being too hand holdy, but the fact that there's still people complaining about the difficulty of the game shows that ID was on to something
Honestly i didn't know what the video was about until i read the comments XD But honestly i appreciate the game having tutorials that teach you the enemies' weak points and how to beat them. You could even argue in the case of older demons that doomguy already has dealt with them before so he knows their weak point, they just show this to new players. Let's face it, unless you're a hardcore gamer and/or fan of the DOOM games, you may not know how to beat them even if the weak points are obvious, and some people just want to play the game for fun instead of having to figure everything out for themselves. Those who turn off tutorials are the badasses who want a challenge and want to figure out weaknesses on their own. Lastly i will also mention that especially on the harder difficulties, these tutorials become "easier said than done"
The challenge of the game is in execution as opposed to trial and error, everyone here in comments nagging on journos is just itching to get triggered over the most inconsequential shit, it’s a video game, grow up

Guys, games should gradually teach you mechanics such that tutorials are necessary (or not) for like the first hour of the game, and then never again. Kind of like when Valve used to make games. The point isn't that you can turn off tutorials, but that there shouldn't even be tutorials in general.

The game doesnt just leave you flat on your ass without them, if you need the tutorials to understand how to do anything in a doom game thats your problem.

I kind of feel like the tutorial actually sets you up for failure. I find it so much harder to destroy the shield before destroying the sled. Just rush him with a full auto shotgun a couple of times and back away while taking care of some fodder enemies. Then go back in for his main body.
God awful plan later in game and you are so slow with full auto after upgrades
If you're playing nightmare, this is important. Use the plasma rifle to strip his shield and ballista him to pieces.

You know a lot of people complain about the game being too hand holdy, but the fact that there's still people complaining about the difficulty of the game shows that ID was on to something
Honestly i didn't know what the video was about until i read the comments XD
But honestly i appreciate the game having tutorials that teach you the enemies' weak points and how to beat them.
You could even argue in the case of older demons that doomguy already has dealt with them before so he knows their weak point, they just show this to new players. Let's face it, unless you're a hardcore gamer and/or fan of the DOOM games, you may not know how to beat them even if the weak points are obvious, and some people just want to play the game for fun instead of having to figure everything out for themselves. Those who turn off tutorials are the badasses who want a challenge and want to figure out weaknesses on their own.
Lastly i will also mention that especially on the harder difficulties, these tutorials become "easier said than done"
It immediately kills all the awesome hype and buildup to the fight.
