Hey so am scratching my head with the problem am having atm. My boat won’t shift gears super super rough it’s not the cables I replaced them. I was wondering could it be this o ring that swelled up or has no lube ?
Is there a particular large flat head bit you recommend for removing the oil screws on these old Evinrudes? I find that in almost all cases I strip it and cannot get it out.
Nice work. Great video. Liked and subscribed! How in the heck do you get the shift pin out to drop the case?

I had to change the oring in my 1974 johnson 85hp the exact same way you did. It took me a lot longer but I got it done.

What seal kit did you use for the mating surface on the exhaust
Where do you get your parts for the 1973-1976 115? I have a lower unit to rebuild. Kinda hard to find reasonable priced parts.
Do you have any part numbers? And where did you order the o-ring and gasket from?
