I can tell you from experience that their support is excellent. I got through straight away and the bloke I spoke to, really knows his stuff. Problem was solved immediately.
@@TasmanianOffroadAdventures sweet! Mine has a hard mounted 250w panel also, handles the 13 odd amps fine. It floats within 2 hrs of sun hitting the panel haha only because my waeco 75L dual zone is power hungry haha.
you probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few days xD
Keen to see a post trip review on this. Thanks for the video! I'm considering one of these myself. Also just wondering what you have running? As I'm not sure whether to go for the 25A or the 45A one yet.
Hey Jay. I have run this on two week long Tagalong Tours and a week long family camping trip with no issues. I'm running a Bushman 52 litre fridge and a 14 Litre Engel as a freezer, uhf radio and a couple of lights, iphone charging etc. It's doing the job fine so far. I have another Tagalong in a months time so I'll do a review after that.
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback. Great question, but I haven't compared the two. For me they serve s different purpose - Victron is the solar controller for my folding panels and the Projecta is being used as a dual battery isolator/solar controller.
Unfortunately the solar input on mine is stuffed. Soon as I put panel which has 20volt or even 16 volt output, the charger blocks it to 4 volt. Definitely a fault. Many on forums say the same happens.
Hey Scott. I've had a great run out of mine. I've had a couple of people tell me they have had trouble with theirs, but I like mine so much I've bought another for the new ute.
I just installed one of these into my 79 series cruiser to run my fridge permantly aswell mark. I had the same issue as you, the standard mppt regulator just didn't cut the mustard. Iv always had redarc gear but I wanted to try something different, and I'm extremely happy with it. Thanks for the review mate 👍
@@TasmanianOffroadAdventures bloody awesome mate thats what you want. For over half the price, you cant complain. The performance has been fantastic. The way it also utilises solar, aswell as charge from the alternator at the same time is a great feature
I'm sorry, but this was a waste of time. The title is misleading. I actually thought this was going to be about installing a charger. All you did was talk, talk and talk about the issues you've had. I'm even wasting my time writing this 😄.

Just bought a unit today and will hook it up tomorrow , thanks for the video.
Nucopia Judo no worries mate 👍🏻
Totally agree with the comment terminal posts would make installation easier instead of the cables out the bottom
bought the same a few months ago . waiting to get all the bits to install
Just picked one of these up today $350 at autobarn 👌🏽 i have a projecta powahub 100ah calcium dual battery in mine great bit of kit
I wish you talked more about the actual installation.
Great unit, had it in my patrol in the rear charging the 130ah battery. No problems 4 years on.
Moses1988 great feedback mate. It’s been for about 3 weeks now. Another couple of Tagalongs and I’ll do an update video

It was a 4-beer installation - gold!

@@TasmanianOffroadAdventures Awesome, thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated!
Hi there, thanks for this great content, Wondering how you have found the performance compared to the Victron controller?
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback. Great question, but I haven't compared the two. For me they serve s different purpose - Victron is the solar controller for my folding panels and the Projecta is being used as a dual battery isolator/solar controller.
How did you find the voltage meter controller? How do you use it
Hi Mate. What size fuse did you put between the alternator going to the charger? Cheers
120 amp midi fuse
I have a 45 A DC-DC Projecta charger that's about 3 years old. Its solar MPPT produces annoying coil noises. Have they ever fixed that?
I’ve since sold the Hilux and put one in the new Ranger. No such noises coming from either.
Sooo about the install?

Make sure you buy the series 5.
It will be on the code of the unit. V05
Mate you didn't dhoe the install . That's what we wanted.😊
Haha classic just bolt the lugs together type connection.

Thanks for the review mate 👍
Cheers mate. I’ve been very happy with mine. I’m just installing one in the new Ute now.
