I have 3 of these units one charges from the alternator plus solar to lithium batteries works fine . I have tried 2 more to charge from the lithium battles to agm they now show solid red charging and solid blue battery type.
What output voltage should you get when the solar input is 22V? My lights show its bulk charging from solar but the voltmeter at my aux battery shows nothing. When my ute is running i get 13.5V at aux battery from altenator. Is my projecta faulty?
Have one question. If your connected via the alternator to charge while driving. If you stop at a campsite. Does it still draw power from the alternator or will it cut off. Don’t want a dead start battery
My idc25 has the blue light flashing with the green on the alternator, the charging light starts to flash then the entire unit goes black and then goes back to blue light on agm and green light on alternator no charging light what does this mean.
I installed one of these last night, when I start my car the alternator light is green and so is the charging light. When I turn it off it almost sounds like a beeping noise and is it normal for the unto to get pretty warm?
Yes it is normal for them to get warm as they are carrying 25A through them, the units charge light should turn off when the vehicle voltage reduces below 12.8Vdc
Hi Benny currently I have my solar in solid red, ALT light on solid green and no charge light. I say currently as changes conditions regularly. if it's getting too much power from the solar panel how do you cut that back? isn't the unit meant to do that? I've had this unit installed for years and recently travelled from Melb to Fraser Island with out issue. about a month ago the fuse box I had in line melted, not sure why, I've re done all the wiring (even though they were in tacked) shorten wires and minimised all connections. all main connections have Anderson plugs with the same size wire or larger. 8 or 10.
Hi Benny, I've a IDC25 and wish to mount this in my Caravan which is fitted with 280AH AGM battery (2 x 140Ah in parallel) via Projecta PM435-BT BMS. The tow vehicle has 50A Grey Anderson connected directly to Starter Battery teminals on PM435-BT. Am I correct in presuming the starter battery cable should be disconnected from PM435-BT and connected to the 12v input of the IDC25, then output (brown cable) should be connected at starter battery terminal on 435-BT? Are there any other changes required e.g. I recall someone telling me (may have been you) that a resister needs to be connected across terminals on the 435-BT as well. Could you provide advice please.
Generally, standby mode is indicated by both the alt light and battery FLASHING but we have seen instances where the lights remain SOLID if the battery is fully charged and is capable of holding that charge for an extended period. Normal operation and nothing to be concerned about. It does indicate you have a great battery!
I already have this IDC25 Charger and looking at changing my AGM Battery to a Lithium Battery..... can my IDC25 Charger work on a Lithium Battery and if so, what mode do I use it on? Thank you
Our charger outputs a Lead Acid profile only (GEL, AGM, WET & CALCIUM), We do have a Lithium DC-DC that we recommended. With that said it does depend on the Battery and your battery manufacture may be able to confirm if you can charge your battery from a Lead Acid charger. Cheers DA
@@ProjectaAustralia Thanks for the quick reply :) I am looking at getting the iTechworld 120AH LifePo4 Lithium Battery, so will check with them. Cheers :)
I've had one of these for 4 years now been great. Going to run a second AGM battery I'll see how it handles it
Great to hear!

How do you know when battery is at full charge while using via solar?
Can I use a 150amp dual battery isolator with a IDC25 charger?
Hi Benny is it a straight swap for the idc25

No not at all as long as wired correctly the unit will disconnect the internal charger and stop drawing from the vehicle battery
What size fuse do I need between auxiliary battery and charger, thanks
50A for the IDC25 mate

Can I hook this up from a 24v starter battery setup to a 12v house battery (in motorhome)?
Hey SouthernFriedGerman you absolutely can these can accept input from both 12 and 24V vehicle to charge 12V house batteries that is No problem at all

hi Ken, what is the voltage at the Solar? and what serial number is your unit?

I also have the exact same question? Maybe is there a wiring diagram to add the dcdc in?
When I turn car off blue agm light is solid and the alternator light is solid green and will stay on for hours any ideas why

@@DonsShedI use an itechworld lithium with my IDC45
Should the Alternator light be on when rhe engine is off and it is charging from solar? Mine is... even after several hours of the engine being off...
does it charge lithium ion batteries, if yes on what mode? im kinda new in the whole electrical world 😅
They have answered this in the comments below
You can now use an itechworld lithium battery with a non lithium charger and they guarantee it👍
Mine works fine but sometimes it makes a funny beeping noise don't know why
hi Gary, is it when its charging on solar or ALT? also can i please the the serial number?
