I remember coming home, sitting down with my family and watching our October. Nothing ever moved us quite like those seasons. Our 9ers had faded away, our Giants were the best in baseball because we put pitching first. I recall Matt Caines perfect game like gospel. I recall Sergio Romos slider. Timmies fastball. Wilsons fastball. Zitos 12/6 curve. Javi's submarine delivery. What felt incredible was our dominance. It was like the league had no answer for what people thought were lowly Giants. As a Giants fan, I will forever cherish the Even Year Dynasty!!! I’m so happy my Grandpa got to see them win in 2010 before he passed the following year. What made them special was the fact that they were ultimately not an expensive team nor a 100 win team, just a bunch of heroes who absolutely refused to lose. A Band of MiSFits! A true underdog team like we see in the movies. To win three World Series in five years is a tough feat that very few teams can accomplish besides the Yankees. People often forget how good they were during this run especially in 2012, they had All-Stars, great moments in the regular season and extremely clutch playoff performances. But I think what frustrates a lot of people is that the Giants beat teams like the Rangers and Tigers who had the makings of a Dynasty. I’ll forever grateful for this Giants era and getting to see them when three World Series on even years. Thank you, Bruce Bochy
The San Francisco giants were also underdogs in their 3 World Series wins. The 2010s was a difficult time being a dodgers fan. Also the 2010 World Series title was a precursor to the Bryan stow beating in 2011.
Lifelong giants fan. We may not have scored much but neither did you. This team will be remembered for its pitching. It was dominant, the amount of games where I sat through 9innings of 1 run ball was crazy.
It's all about winning the (most) important games to earn a Ring. And the Giants did just that! The same reason why the sport of baseball is so beautiful and unique.
Does a dynasty only use championships as a measuring stick? Because if so, then yes, the Giants are the last "dynasty". But if you ask me, domination in the regular season should count for something as long as one of those teams gets a ship. That's why we constantly talk about the Braves being the "Team of the 90's" despite only 1 ring. I think of the Astros and Dodgers as dynasties; if NY wins a ring, I'd consider them as well.
The Braves are considered the Team of the 90s because they won their division for nearly 20 years straight and made the WS like 4 or 5 times The Astros and Dodgers are not dynasties
@@benjamintenison24Astros won 2 and went to four also 7 straight alcs Astros definitely a dynasty especially if we pump one more out when our pitchers get healthy
@@benjamintenison24I agree that the dodgers and Yanks aren’t. Astros are the closest thing, but they gotta win one more in 2025 or 2026. If they don’t then I won’t consider them one. Three championships make a dynasty in a short period with the same core team. Astros, Dodgers, and the 90's Braves aren't dynasties. Having great runs doesn't make dynasty because all that matters at the end is if you won championship.

It’s always a loose definition, but even-year Giants, while a cool story, are not even close to a dynasty. If anything, they lend credibility to the argument that the playoffs are a crapshoot. The Houston Astros are the only true dynasty of the 21st century, and it’s not close
