Well thank you, and if there's any way I can help you out with other information or whatever you can always hit me up on my email at teammiyagi@hotmail.com . Thanks for watching!
@21:23... I LOVE the videos, and I think I speak for many others too. Thank you so much for putting these together. I had lost momentum on a complete rebuild of a '78 standard "barn find" mostly due to lack of confidence. Your line "ran when parked" describes what I was told when I purchased the project and was hoping for a quicker turn around. It turned into a fame off restoration. Your videos have given the kick in the a$$ I needed to get back to loving and rebuilding my xs650. Sincere thank you for these.
I am so glad I found your videos. I have a 1970 XS1 650 that I stopped driving in the early 90's because the clutch was slipping and oil leaks and carb problems. I saw you mention you like the newer models because of parts availability. I want to start a rebuild and wonder if you think it's worth it. I hope the main bearings are ok but am willing to replace if I have to. Are parts going to be a problem for me? If I start this project, I will be relying on your videos. They are very clear and concise, and I really appreciate the work you've put into them.
I’ve rebuilt a few 650’s and if that sump screen has a hole in it there is a possibility the oil pump could have sucked some chunk in and cracked or broken the outside ring of the pump... I had one like that, had to replace the pump. Its just a good measure to always pull the pump apart and see. It is the heart of the beast! Cheers!
Great video! I found you from a recommendation from our mutual friend @crazyjer13. I just bought a Road Star, and have a few xs650’s I’m playing with. I look forward to learning more from you on these videos! Cheers!
Hi I bought a 1978 xs650 and it jumps out of low gear when rpm go over 2000. I found that the nut hold the sprocket was loose, finger tight instead of 80 lbs. torque. The chain and sprockets were worn badly if that might be my problem? I enjoy your Chanel and love your camping video's.
Heard that "run when parked" remark more often than not, and after tearing into most of them through time have learned to be very suspicious about any bike its said of. The video was helpful, and insightful to just how little I knew of this model and certain pitfalls with it. Have a great weekend.
Great video! Very enjoyable watching and listen to you explaning this stuff. Im looking for an XS650 project. Is there a model year that you prefer over others? Looking forward to watch more of your videos :)
How are you! I am putting together an xs 650 motor from scratch. Do I need to have the flywheel welded or are pressed in pins good enough? And if I had them welded then how do I replace bearings, sprocket that timing chain rides on, etc????
Should be fine the way are if you're not rephasing the crank but if are the company doing the rephasing can replace the rods, bearings and weld the pins at that time.
You must have looked inside my garage prior to making this video. I have three XS650s (1 Standard / 2 Specials) and 6 engines and boxes of parts. Four of the engines are in some stage of disassembly. My goal is to build reliable, enjoyable motorcycles with modern upgrades. I share your enthusiasm for motorcycles and look forward to applying my new found knowledge. Your videos are excellent and I appreciate the time and effort that Team Miyagi put into them.

Lot of vibration from a wore out chain and sprocket will jump the gears. Thanks for watching
You are a wealth of knowledge sir!
Heard that "run when parked" remark more often than not, and after tearing into most of them through time have learned to be very suspicious about any bike its said of. The video was helpful, and insightful to just how little I knew of this model and certain pitfalls with it. Have a great weekend.
I have found a few bikes that ran when parked but not many.
Thanks for watching

There's a slight difference between the 71 head and cylinder compared to the 75 heading cylinder slightly taller.
