From John Boorman, the director of Point Blank and Deliverance, comes Exorcist II: The Heretic, a visionary metaphysical thriller that confounded audience expectations by delivering something unique and entirely unexpected.
It has been four years since the exorcism that saved the life of Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) and caused the deaths of Lankester Merrin (Max Von Sydow) and Damien Karras, the priests who helped her. Regan remembers nothing, but her therapist Dr Tuskin (Louise Fletcher) believes those memories are simply repressed and waiting. Meanwhile, Father Philip Lamont (Richard Burton) - his own faith shaken by a failed exorcism - is tasked by the Vatican with investigating Father Merrin, who faces posthumous charges of heresy for his controversial writings. His investigation will lead him to Africa, New York and Georgetown as he and Regan are drawn together in a spiritual battle that encircles the globe.
With an all-star cast, sublime cinematography, and a standout score from legendary composer Ennio Morricone, Exorcist II: The Heretic is a daring vision, packed with the kind of bold ideas and extraordinary images that Boorman would also explore in Zardoz and Excalibur. Forget what you think you know...

"The people who made this piece of shit are in this room."
“WHERE!? Where are they?”
@@halloweenfriday William Friedkin tells an anecdote about a preview screening in which someone shouted that.
THEY’RE ALL BACK THERE !!
A true oddity but endlessly fascinating
Nice trailer.
I like Exorcist II: The Heretic and always have. You certainly cant say they tried to copy the original.
Lol
Only the director of ZardOz could come up with this.
Boorman directed Zardoz? But he also directed Emerald Forest didn't he?🤔
@@HECTORMONTALVO-le9cn John Boorman did three movies back-to-back that I call the Batshit Trilogy: Zardoz, Exorcist II and Excalibur. Everything else he's done has been relatively conventional but for that three film run, he was working on another level.
I have a suspicion drugs may have been involved.
Such a weird film but it is one of my guilty pleasures. 😊
This would have been much better if it was not a sequel to The Exorcist
So bad it's good!!
Cool
Can arrow video release return of the living dead please 🙏
That would be awesome. I think Second Sight had the rights to that but the last blu ray they released of it is long OOP. I have the german steelbook release, region B with English language, it looks great and will do until the inevitable 4k release. Edit, just checked Amazon uk and there is a US 4k release, if you have a 4k player. 4k is region free in case you didn’t know.
@@travisbickle2004 I didn't know the us 4k version was region free, I like the original arrow window box editions too. There's something about arrow video presentations that looks so much better than the rest. Thanks for the heads up 👍👍👍
The biggest tragedy of this film: Father Phillip didn't get some ass.
I have only seen the first is this or III worth getting?
I love Exorcist 1 and 3 but I never watched this one. Worth preordering?
Lol, no. Only if you are a completist.
@@MrCarpen7er Thanks. I'm not really, that's why I was curious
It’s shit don’t bother lol
This looks nucking futs
