During my army days i was keeping whole box of that panzer waffles under the desk in the office, with cup of tea or coffee they were quite a good snack when i was writing reports.

Today, I watched your video and greatly enjoyed it. Where are you filming this video? I will watch some more of your video's. The meal looks very good. Have a Great day from the Great State of Texas and be safe.

Love these Polish SRS, great vid! The straw is funny, but the SRG has cups, so even weirder.

40 years ago, when I was doing my basic military service, we had the same biscuits and the same hard. Their recipe is as old as the world and has not changed to this day. The only way out was to break them into the smallest pieces and not bother with smearing honey, jam or pate. You ate these things with a knife or a spoon and chewed them on a piece of rusk. The meal was cold because it was heated too shortly. You had to count from the time he took off, and on such a cold day it was at least a quarter of heating. You unnecessarily threw away the chemical heater. It was enough to take out the meal, the heater again in a cardboard box and put it under the jacket. It works for a while and you would warm up.

I know about the heater but could not wait the camera was freezing up, interesting info though thanks

Sadly MREs, military and recreational, are appallingly expensive to get here in Australia.

Hey, greetings from Poland. Again the same mistake! Wrap the shit AROUND it and you'll have it boiled evenly in no time.
Glad you at least enjoyed this one. I wasn't a fan of the buckwheat meal either during my time in the army.

@@bigmikeoutdoors6215 I think that the issue is with the way you are folding the bag, actually. You had a little show of how that goes last time when the water spilled. If you fold it downwards, the water will simply spill.
The manual says to put the chemical heater at the bottom, put the food on top, then fold the bag on top, put it into the paper bag and put flat with the heater at the bottom. The paper bag is there pretty much for the sake of making sure the fold stays on top to prevent water spillage.
In this case, it should be: paper on bottom, one layer of plastic bag, heating package, the food, layer of bag and the bag folded on top, then the other side of the paper.
Since you will fold it towards the top, the water will not be going away from the heating package. As it will be surrounded by water all over, all of it will be activated fully, but not excessively (if you won't put too much water).
When you fold it towards the bottom like you did here, the water will just escape. If you will put it like in the first video, the heater won't really have much of a chance of passing the heat onto the food (and it will not be submerged in the water either, if you will place it flat towards the food tray).
If you will end up trying something like that again (I guess you can get the heating bag itself to try it with something else, instead of the entire rations, if you just want to check if this'll work), please do try that.
As for the crackers...they won't get soft easily. You either powder them, crush them into bits or break into small chunks to put into your mouth and have them dissolve slowly while releasing their flavor.
