That is a very nice watch. I really like that you shot all of your videos in good lighting and in HD. I know your channel is gear towards people who knows a lot about watches, but have you consider making a video explaining the terms you use to describe watches? I would love to learn more about them. Thanks. P.S. I'm a noob when it comes to watches.
Another thing that comes to mind is that old saying that the value of something is usually far more than the sum of it's parts. if you've every seen some of the prices vintage Pateks, Rolex, etc command at auction you'll see what I mean.
Bob Bender I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. I tried to narrate in such a way that the viewer is treated respectfully. I don't want to "dumb" down the videos, or come across as a "know it all". thanks for watching
watch prices are getting shockingly high...and it is getting tougher for me justify future purcahses. I haven't gotten a new watch in over 4 years now.
Panerais are cool. I have a real Pam117 as well as a fake one for travel. Indistinguishable except for movement a tiny bit different. Panerai needs to make them harder to copy
I know exactly what you mean, of course if someone is willing to pay for something, than it is worth the price. I didn't mean for you to feel like you had to defend your purchase, I was just surprised at how much panerai charges for one of its more simple watched
If you were to ask me now would I buy ths watch again, I would probably say Yes ONLY if it had an in house movement. Anyway, I got this watch for slightly over $ 3000 so I did overpay too too much for a watch with a Unitas movement. Regardless of how prosaic the Unitas movement might be it is a very sturdy, and reliable movement, something that gibes with the "tool watch" legacy of Panerai.
that is an interesting idea. one of my coworkers mentioned that it would be nice have a series of videos for people just getting into the world of watches. I consider myself to have a decent working knowledge of the way watches work and the terminology that comes with it, but not advanced in any way whatsoever. next time I will take greater care to explain watch terms that "noobs" may not be familiar with. if you really start to get into watches you'll pick up those terms quick enough :) thanks for watching and your thoughtful insight.
@@369168 The lever pushes on the crown at an angle. Instead of pushing it straight in it goes to one side (you can even see it in the video). This accelerates wear on the seals and could distort the crown shaft.
I have a Panerai321 please don't. There are better watches from more reliable companies out there. The timing on mine was out so I took it back as it was less than a year old. They refused to repair it and said it had been knocked. Any knock that it received was minor and this was a clear case of the company trying to rip me off to the tune of over $650. Not trustworthy or reliable and not worth your hard earned money.
the simple uncluttered dial also makes the watch super legible. thanks for watching :)
Mine is an older model. The newer versions do indeed have a sandwich dial. Thanks for watching
Panerai is probably my favourite watches where even the cheapest models are stunning time pieces!
I'm confused... I thought PAM 112 has a sandwiched dial.
Not the older ones

thanks so much! more reviews in the future stay tuned

timekeeping distilled to its most basic form..thanks for watching
I really liked this clip. The narrator talks to you like an adult.

Great review. Considering it's Titanium brother...the 176. Appreciate the details and info. Great piece ya got there.
this 112 was an earlier version in which the indices were painted on

I'm really sorry to hear about the poor customer service you received. fortunately my 112 has been trouble free. thanks for watching, and your imput.

unfortunately fakes are getting better and better

you will thank the Unitas when it comes to servicing costs.

what's the price on that beautiful watch?\m/
You shouldn't press the crown in with the lever. Press it in with your fingers, then close the lever.
This did cross my mind. What is your reasoning ? Is there a concern that the lever may scratch the crown ?

i bought this watch awhile back at that time it was $ 3200 usd
from the clear back movement behind, dont seem like a genuine one.
This is not a genuine 112. The name Panerai is not stamped all over the back like it does here. And yes, it's supposed to be sandwich dial.
the earlier ones did. later they used Cotes de Geneve, and sandwich dials
NO BULLS**T WRISTWATCH REVIEWS I second that. Before 2005 Pam 112 has sausage dial and graffiti movement. Both features are cool
I retract my comment. Great review!
I thought they were a closed back
there is a Panerai "Base" , I think it was Ref 000 that had a solid caseback

as far as I know, it's real
I don't know man $6000 for a Unitas? I
The watch is very nice, but as an 112, it should have a sandwich dial, and this looks like sausage dial? It doesn't have any depth whatsoever.
