I think the Rabbids were a shockingly great idea for a mario group because the funny exaggerations of the characters also sortof help characterize the main people they are parodying. Marios muted "Sane and ready to fight" personallity shines when hes basically the entire teams dad.
I kinda preferred them in this than the sequel (because them talking is kind of unsettling) but it definitely is great to have them show their unique dichotomy.
I feel like, from the very beginning, the Rabbids have been their strongest as parody and satire, taking elements from something else and exaggerating them so that they and the audience can admire the fun of the source material and laugh at its shortcomings. In their first appearance, they parodied a bit of Rayman. In their second appearance, they parodied a ton about the real world. They even parodied TV at some point. Their identity has turned into a blank canvas with potential to celebrate and mock other things that when they try to grow independent storyline from the ground-up, they come as less interesting, which I find may be a reason why people were annoyed by the Rabbids at that point. But now, by taking the opportunity to parody one of gaming's largest icons, they are not only raised from bland recognition, but they also expand the enjoyment of Mario by showing the franchise's accomplishments and flaws in the most hysterical way possible.
I remember hearing about a Mario and Rabbids crossover game, ready for an absolute shitshow of a game. When the game actually dropped tho, it easily became one of my favorites. The Rabbids are far less annoying than how they’re commonly portrayed, even getting some good chuckles from me on several occasions, and the Mario cast’s interactions with the psychotic bunnies are priceless. The one scene after Rabbid Kong with Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and Luigi in the background always gets a good laugh from me.
The Mario Rabbids series is something that is completely insanity on paper but just works because of how much love and care the designers of the games put into it. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could have ever seen a game where Nintendo and Ubisoft collaborate on a turn-based XCOM-style game where Mario has a fucking GUN and SHOOTS PEOPLE and it crosses Mario with the Rabbids of all videogame mascots even being a thought in someone's head, let alone a videogame that was personally greenlit by Mario and most importantly of all being actually GOOD. To top off this mismash of crossoves with a cherry, it's music is scored by the renowned and legendary Grant Kirkhope. This game has no right to even exist, let alone be as good as it is and the fact papa Miyamoto himself greenlit its existence and loved it is something that blows me away and it's lovely to see this game get more recognition that it totally deserves. I say this sincerely when I say that this modern game is proof that anything can work if you believe and care for it enough. The fact its game crafted lovable characters and a charming world is just beyond words for how incredible this game is, and that doesn't even scratch the surface of the gameplay itself! This is by far the most ambitious Mario crossover to date (sorry Mario Olympics) and I just love it.
It reminds me of something said by the therapist from Cinema Therapy: "The best ideas sound incredibly silly on paper. Its not the idea, it is about how it is executed."
I agree, at times some games nowadays feel devoid of heart, with money and speed being the only things that matter, which is disheartening to say the least as it feels like many big name titles sell off of just their names alone, no offense.
Another thing to note, Rabbid peach's sentry her secondary can be thrown by the big ape, allowing a massive boost to her normally mediocre dps with a blaster and destroyable big boom into a nuclear football for the leader of the bunch to use!

Donkey Kong Adventure was the reason I picked up Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle. It's the closest thing to a standalone DK game built from the ground up for the Switch. And this really does feel like the most fully featured Donkey Kong we've ever gotten.

I wouldn`t say that his "teeth are rectractable", it seems to me more that his lips are big enough to cover them, whenever he is not grinning or clenching them.

Now I may not be a physics geek, but everything seems to tell me that’s just fucking impossible but it shows just how stupidly strong this massive ape is.
Some neat little touches i just adore is that DK throws explosive objects and his teammates with just a mighty hurl, taking care not to harm his payload to prevent self harm from face tanking an explosion or a salty pals friendly fire. Meanwhile enemies he snatches are launched with a punch for some extra pain and oomph. Also because he isn't from the original kingdom battle or senile, he can climb up ledges the other would need a pipe or team jump for, along with the ability to carry a person up with him.

Wow what an insightful comment. This should be pinned.
Edit: Ok I realize I was being a snarky bastard, sorry about that.
@@Argo_Spiral I know. I’ll just be straight to the point. No one cares.
Sigh... Found the kid...
First comments are harmless and hilariously benefit creators by boosting engagement. As is responding to them for that matter, but maybe don't be rude about it? Say it is a kid, mocking a child for excitement is a bit sad, no? And if it isn't, why take away a novel joy from someone, even it is a bit meaningless? Doesn't paint oneself in the best of lights to do that.
Have some class people, c'mon
fuck yhhhhhh!!!!!!
Heard turn based rpg and left 😂
I have to admit playing as DK is my least favorite character to play as in DKC. I wish he wasn’t forced in DKCR and DKC:TF
