Well done.
I love both your attention to safety .
When the beetle product is completely dry i would suggest usinģ a "wood hardener on the powdery area's of the beams! Doin a great job guys 🙃
Good job!
That attic has already transformed into a beautiful space!
Well done Marion!👍🥳
As long as wood is dry (8-10%) there ist no reason to fear wood worms.
Very carefully picked music.
Well done!
You have a job with that little lot. Any chance of reinforcing the structure? Have fun……..
This is one of those projects that needs to be done and because there is little or no gratification from seeing a change or transformation, you don't want to do it. So yes, when you can pass on a task to someone else ot does make the project go along faster.
Beautiful!
I remember doing woodworm treatment on my first property forty five years ago, the days before COSHH was ubiquitous, the stuff would be illegal to sell now. I used the injection method which took a long time. I wore a wholly inadequate mask and the stuff smelt penetrating. I blame this now for those moments when I forget where I put my pencil or spectacles, which are becoming more regular in my advancing years.
I am not an expert on insect damage, but as I understand it if those oak beams become a part of your heated living space, the humidity in them will drop below that needed by the insects. It is my experience as well (here in Norway). It is not clear what insulation system you will be using or if one is even needed in your climate, looks like the tiles are visible, suggesting the attic will be cold...? Local traditions tend to have massive variations. Do you have any idea of the age of the building or whether it has been extensively rebuilt at some point? There is really little to distinguish a building from 1850 to one from 1350 (re-roofed etc) in your area. Thanks for sharing your processes, all the best!
The tiles are visible on a section of roof that should have a membrane between the tiles and the wood batons. We are going to retrofit a membrane as best we can but it is not ideal. Yes, we will have insulation... before winter hopefully. Thanks.
@@TheRenovationProject Yes that sounds very tricky.
👍👍👍. Thank you
I'm surprised Marion didn't cover her hair while she sprayed...
.....thus demonstrating that there's nowhere the Safety Nannies won't try to penetrate ......!!
Especially when your partner does it 😂😂😂
Hello! Marion is very clever! You could be in a lot more videos!
That will teach those woodworms to set up camp in your house. 🤣 Also good to know, there are no fish living in your attic, that spray would be a problem. 🤣🤣🤣
Is that wood arch still strong enough t carry the load?
This was a well thought out project. I was glad to see Marion use a chemical mask. The EU is careful about unintended consequences - but it is wise to err on the side of caution. The garden sprayer was a great idea, Marion looked like a Pro with her coveralls and sprayer slung over her shoulder :)
I recall you recently mentioned spacing heating with a wood burner this coming winter. Will you be using one or both of your chimneys for wood stove(s)?
Best of luck as always!
It's all about security, isn't it ? Physical and mental 😊
The second coat is applied after the first.....I couldn't have find such a clever comment.....🤣🤣🤣🤣Sorry I'm laughing...
