Camino Frances - Day 13

Day 13 was a cold, windy day, however we made it to Granon. The highlight was visiting the Catedral Santo Domingo de la Calzada and seeing the chickens. Check Google for more details. Hope you are doing well! Buen Camino!

what a magical day? what was the significance of the Rolo? were those chickens in the church? loved the procession. God bless.

Thanks! I think I read somewhere that criminals were chained to it, however, I may not have remembered that correctly…I can’t find an explanation now. And, yes, they keep two chickens in the church based on it’s legend! Crazy!

@@denniscockrell One time I stayed in LA CADA DE LAS SONRISAS.
Second time it was a hospitalero training in Hospital de los peregrinos San Juan Bautista. Pilgrims are sleeping on the mazresses on the floor. Comunal dinner. Common prsyer on the church balcony
