When you said Kibbes I gasped. I used to get the best shrimp salad sandwiches there in 1970-72. Moved out of state but so happy to hear they are still around.
Loved this and you are delightful. I agree about the roll, only way to go. My herb preference is lots of fresh dill. Great video, nicely done!
Perfect MD Shrimp Salad, Mr. Frank! Straightforward, just letting that shrimp shine. And you're absolutely correct - has to be on a fresh, "scooped out" roll, or it goes everywhere.
Believe it or not, Mueller's deli on Harford Rd used to make a killer shrimp salad. Yup, a German deli. In my childhood, they used to make their own sausages, etc., too, but in later years they got a lot of items from Binkert's Meats in Rosedale (no shame there - Binkert's is very good). Sadly, Kenny Mueller (3rd gen owner) had cancer, retired early and Muellers closed in 2018. :-( At least our neighborhood still has Mastellone's for a rockin' "old world Italian" or porchetta sub. No shrimp salad there, though, so I make my own now.
Thanks, Frank! ❤
Perfection on a sub roll! As a girl from Baltimore Co. This ^^ is the perfect shrimp salad.
Thank you for the recipe. These babies came from the Gulf right off Port Isabel. Texas. I am making Shrimp Salad for my husband's dinner.
Mr Frank. My journey to finding this video started out with searching for a
recipe for some sort of Pea Salad. Then to Shrimp and Pea salad, and
found this. We have a bumper crop of Peas in our garden, and cooked
to al dente, and added to this recipe would be delightful. While watching
this video the light came on, DUH, this is a Lobster Roll! We live in Maine. :)
Thanks for joggin' this Old Garden Gnomes memory.
Recipe spot on, demonstration easy and clear. TYFS
Thank a bunch my friend
I tried this and loved it!! The second time I did it I used a little less Mayo and about a tablespoon of horseradish and extra Old Bay Seasoning, and loved it even more. I can’t believe I’m almost 37 and never tried this before!
YESSSSSS! I dig the meat of my rolls out so I just have the outside shell of the bread left. Then I fill the bread pockets with my salad. Keep all that bread filling - I'll take the salad.
😎
Looks awesome. Just what I needed to know. Thanks!
*That looks Absolutely Scrumptious!!!!* ☺️
Perfection!
Nice job with a classic
Whooo! Your Maryland Shrimp salad... da bomb! Thank you for sharing!

Reminds me of the shrimp salad I used to get from a lil place around the Townsend area ❤🤤

Excellent
Thanks my friend
I used to get a shrimp salad on rye from Lexington Market.
Love that place. My uncle repaired shoes there.
Thank you so much! I was looking for a recipe closest to a restaurant here in Texas called "Sea Island Shrimp House". They had the BEST shrimp salad for years, then took it off the menu!!!! Yours def looks the closest...I have now joined your channel. 😊👍🏼
Hope you 😉 enjoy
@@franksfavoritefoods7753 It was SCRUMPTIOUS! 😋
Sorrentos in Catonsville? 💜
Yessir!
Why is it so hard to find shrimp salad outside of Maryland and areas close by Balt? I saw shrimp salad in Florida and I got a salad with shrimp on top!
Now this is shrimp salad 💕💕💕
Haha, thanks Karen 🍤
Ha! Thanks Karen
Do you think a squeeze of lemon is ok?
Sure 😎
Kibbys always the best in Baltimore
👍
Ha ha I was gonna ask you what was the name of that classic sub shop up on Rte 40, and voila - Sorrento's! Shrimp salad meets Tweedle standards, and then some.
We spent some late nights there!
@@franksfavoritefoods7753 That and didn't we go to the Loch Raven Diner a lot at about 430 a.m.?
My favorite from bmore is Filletis sub shop the best cheeese steak i ever had
G & M bar and Grill
Lexington market and they close down and I got to find the recipe .... Anybody ever in the front of the market please hit me up and let me know what the recipe was was🤷
Kibby's is gone but was of the best if not the best
Agreed 😎
Some people cook the shrimp and boil them until the salt of the shrimp comes out because they don't want salt or they don't like the flavor of the shrimp
Steam with vinegar. Better.
No thanks. I'll take em deep fried
Bread not great
Old bay doesn't make it MD style. Lemon or vinegar does along with old bay or JO spice.
You're completely wrong but ok lmao. 33 years old. Have lived in Maryland all 33 years. Old Bay literally was made in Baltimore. You can use lemon and vinegar anywhere in this country, but old bay is our thing. I always add vinegar to anything I use with old bay, but I just don't get what you mean
@@Ena48145 shut up. 33 years old and still a fool
