I encounter way too many people like Joel , even some family...so self-involved, unable to simply listen and establish good conversation. I've tried to be honest and open to them about it but they react very much like Joel did.
This guy nailed this character and this scene. "I cannot beLIEVE (slams table) this is hapenning." "I tell everyone to GO SEE HIS SHOWWW!!" Great delivery. Looked like real tears and mucus too.
"You're a nice guy"??? How about "you're an obnoxious, self-centered creep!"? Albeit Jerry also is self-centered, but at least he engages others in conversation and has social skills, however shallow and superficial.
Jerry is only human. These characters personified the worst but also the best of humanity. Jerry is also there for his friends. If he was a worse friend then he would just literally walk out on Joel in that diner and not look back. It could have been worse. Jerry also has a good heart.
yeah these early seasons feel so much like a play on a stage. It's missing the big city ambience that the later seasons posses. Kramer and seinfeld just feel like two characters, i'm glad they both get a lot more comfortable with the roles.
I had an aunt and a longtime friend who would call, talk non stop, ignore everything i had to say, then end the conversation with "ok goodbye" and then hang up abruptly.
Nice observation. I think it's the better lighting. It's also the first time that I see the front (table) of their booth. I always thought that the booth could only be entered from one side.
Most of my friends are like this. They show no interest in me. They just want me around to listen to their stories and give them validation without any reciprocation.
I love watching this show. Just puts the mind to ease. I was born in 97 so I have faint memories of this show but being 25 now I knew why my dad was always crying watching TV 😂😂
Imagine being friends with somebody like Kramer..I'd have to question everything he ask or say because it's most likely not going to turn out in my favor lol
Relationships are difficult, I thought it was just me, but I see couples arguing and rolling there eyes, guess it's a thing. Years ago I drove a taxi for a bit and I had this couple in the back, they must've been in their 90's, so she's nagging him for the whole ride, when I look in the rearview mirror I see him staring straight ahead and not reacting at all, I thought he looks like he's day dreaming he's somewhere else, I felt bad for the guy, you'd think after that long they'd call a truce or she'd give him a break, she literally complained to him the whole ride, I wanted to say I'm sorry to him, the poise and patience was remarkable.
Part of me thinks Jerry should’ve just ditched this creep but if I’d been in his shoes, I probably would’ve done the same thing because I couldn’t handle a guy crying at me either.
