He's so the opposite of George - confident, friendly, relaxed, self-mocking. You realise what a good actor he is, that he was so convincing as someone entirely different from himself.
George was my favorite character. They were all great in their own way but Jason Alexander had such nuanced humor, he was brilliant. Especially in the last few seasons.
Larry King was a very good interviewer. His questions followed the conversation to wherever it may evolve and he rarely interrupted or forced his views. A very interesting gentleman in his own right. R.I.P Larry, thanks for the memories.
He very briefly mentioned it here, but Larry actually enjoyed doing comedy himself and was actually pretty damn funny! One of my favorite late night talk shows to watch was the one Craig Ferguson hosted, and he had a robot sidekick that was voiced off-camera by Josh Robert Thompson. Every now and then Josh would be taking time off from doing the show, and Craig got the idea to bring on different celebrities to voice Geoff during these times to have a bit of fun. Well, one time he had Larry King come on the show just to do the voice of the robot, and he absolutely killed it. I had no idea Larry could do comedy, or was even a funny person, until I saw that episode and I still go back to revisit it every once and a while via RUclips.
RIP Larry King...George indeed was a legendary character since everyone can relate to some aspect of this character...Jason Alexander should have gotten multiple Emmys for his potroyal.
I can't believe Jerry and Larry didn't give a tiny cut of their percentages to the rest of the cast. There would be no Seinfeld without Jason Alexander and the rest.
Seinfeld caught my soul and i've never been able to get sick of that show even for a second. I still quote and watch that show if i catch it on. Amazing after seeing every episode probably hundreds of times, i can still watch it.
Me too! I can still find certain lines and such extremely funny for the first time. I like binge through it and have new ideas on what's going on between the characters and their friendship. Seinfeld does have sentimentality in it and sometimes when they show actual friendship it feels stronger than in other sitcoms where friendships are the focus point. Seinfeld was art I too use lines from the show when i talk to friends without noticing it
@@ams554 I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that. Jason Amexander strikes me as incredibly full of himself. He strikes me as the kind of pompous performer that Martin Mull used to parody.

So glad he pushed for a percentage of Seinfeld since he knew that producers in the future would typecast him...which seems they did. It is too bad that the three could not get some kind of a deal.

A class act indeed, at least in this interview. Michael Richards doesn’t seem to present well in any interview that I’ve seen, including on Seinfeld behind the scenes.
Larry used to say when a guest has written a book he will not read that book before he interviews the author because if he knows the answer, he might not ask the question his audience wants him to ask.
George is my favorite Seinfeld character of them all. Jason Alexander’s understanding of the character is one of the best long term acting performances ever. It’s a shame he and the rest of the cast don’t get more in residuals. They deserve it.
I understand the sentiment, but they weren't contractually obligated to give them points so it just wasn't going to happen. However, it's known that Jason, Michael and Julia refused to participate in the DVDs without getting well paid. And they were so there's ways to compensate them.
From the way he insists that his wig be referred to as a "piece", you can tell there's a little bit of Jason Alexander's own pompousness written into Costanza as well
Jason is an extremely artistically intelligent actor. He's my favorite actor/ character from Seinfeld. I mean I can immagine Seinfeld without Jerry and still being funny with George and Kramer. But Seinfeld without George would be bust, empty.
Yeh its kind of shameful how Jerry and Larry took all the money and Jason was left begging for residuals along with the others and that the company wouldn't even let them have a decent piece of the pie for a show they made famous cos if it hadn't been for Jason especially Seinfeld would've just been buried as another early 90s American sitcom along with the other graveyard of cancelled comedies about stand up comedians and their lives of which there was no shortage. Jerry and Larry owe him a lot.
One of THE funniest Seinfeld eps,was when George decided to get a toupee and Elaine took it off his head in Jerry’s apartment ,told him he looked ridiculous ,and threw it out of the window I was crying with laughter
So that’s why Jerry hasn’t had Jason on ‘Comedians in Cars’ because Jason revealed that LD was the reason ‘Seinfeld’ was a hit. I think he may have something.
He did have him on. It was a special episode called The Over-Cheer which was written and performed like an episode of Seinfeld. Wayne Knight made a cameo in it as well.
Did Jerry ever do a full episode of CICGC with Wayne Knight. I saw a commentary JS did with a "Newman" episode and Wayne Knight had lost some weight. Jerry seemed very happy for Wayne Knight.
It kind of annoys me to think that the rest of the actors don't get some residuals from the endless repeat screenings considering they were really the ones who made the show famous. It was fine for Jerry and Larry they made their money but Jason and Julia had to keep on working and got typecast cos of the show so the least they deserved was a decent percentage of the rescreening profit cos Jerry alone would not have made that show the success it was.
I think they all got 40 million each for the last two seasons though to make up for it. Larry and Jerry make at least that from the show each year still
That Q & A section at the end had me dying of laughter. Some Funny comments. George was always my favorite character on Seinfeld! His interactions with his parents and with the Yankees are just so good and I appreciate his personality on the show as it is much closer to mine than Jerry's is, I'm a bit insecure and often jobless too! Also, before today I did not know he won a Tony Award before Seinfeld, whoa he went up a few points in my book today.
If I could ask Jason anything I wanted, I would want to know whether the cigarette actually was difficult for him in "The Invitations" episode. His face turns red and he really looks like he is struggling so I would want to know if that was something completely acted or if it didn't need much embellishment.
It's really upsetting to hear that Julia, Jason and Michael aren't making anything from Seinfeld anymore. I think Jerry and Larry should give them a cut of their earnings...it's been long enough.
@@monicaangelini3324 Jerry and Larry have made over 400million or more on reruns and syndication/streaming because they get a percentage of the back-end.
