"A testimony is spiritual knowledge of truth obtained by the power of the Holy Ghost. Continuing conversion is constant devotion to the revealed truth we received--with a heart that is willing and for righteous reasons. Knowing that the gospel is true is the essence of a testimony. Consistently being true to the gospel is the essence of conversation. We should know the gospel is true and be true to the gospel."
I think this needs to be taught more in the church. But, I don't understand why they always have to say that a mighty change is slow and barely perceptible. The examples in the scriptures are mighty and powerful experiences and events. I know of no scripture that says that these experiences are just for a select group of people, and it won't be like this for you, but a long process; the opposite is taught in the scriptures. There is a necessary process as we work out our salvation, but we seek that great event: the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, and THAT IS AN EVENT! I am quite sure that this is what is taught in the scriptures. What happened to Peter - it was not a slow process. After the day of Pentecost, when the disciples had received the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, Peter was a changed man. He now was unafraid to preach and teach about Christ. This did not take him a lifetime to make this change on his own; when Christ bestows the gift of the Holy Ghost upon you, you are not the same.
Necessary but not sufficient. Became a righteous people who no longer to fight against the lord. Set aside cherish weapons of rebellion. You need to repent. Consistently be b true to the gospel. Consistently. The gospel is true always AL, even when you made a mistake. The truth your need to have re-entered. Repentance is an acknowledgement of our wrong the sweet Grace of knowing we are forgiven and are living in the right.
