No matter how much i watch this drama , I always bawl my eyes out.
I can definitely see why! 🥲
From time to time, I go back to this episode just to watch the scene where Gang Tae is crying. There's something in that scene that I can relate to. So I guess I take this scene a bit more personal. I'm so happy that he has a friend who would shout at the sky and be mad in his place.
While I also understand where Juri's mom comes from, as a mother, she knows how it is hard to raise a kid, but Gang Tae should have never had responsibility like this on his shoulders; he was a kid too when they lost their mother. He needed support too, but all of a sudden, the world changed and he was left alone and had to take care of his brother, forgetting his own needs and focusing on how to survive. It's a miracle he even got a job like this.
The way she didn't acknowledged his pain and instead talked about how their mom must have had a hard time raising them both left me unsettled. I love her character, but that moment, I wasn't a fan. I'm sure Gang Tae knows that; he just longed for his mother's love too; he knew that it was hard,
but he was a kid too. You can't just brush away the pain and hurt he has carried all the time like that. Gang Tae has had to hear those words about him being born to take care of his brother... It's something you should never say a kid.
Their mother suffered a lot and did what she could for them. Gang Tae had a hard time too; he was only a child and he had no one. It's unfair to Gang Tae to ask him to understand his mother's behavior. His brain understands their mother, but his heart is hurting for her and for himself both.
Every time I get teary with this show ahhhhh
34:26 this whole discussion here was so important to me! i felt the exact same way when watching the scene and being honest, i also struggle with rationalizing in a way that can be hurtful/unhelpful to others. it took a lot of discussions with those around me to realize it about myself. it was also impeding my ability to validate and express my own emotions. it's a hard thing! i appreciate you talking about it!!!
Hello! I love watching your videos and hearing your thoughts. I especially have been enjoying rewatching this show with you and seeing it in a new perspective. Thank you for making these reactions! :)
Absolutely my pleasure! 🩵
I've watched this drama a couple of times and along with a number of reactors because I always like to learn what they think about the situation and characters. And you are right, kdramas have their tropes so you kinda know what to expect. ✌🏾
Hi, I love your videos! ❤️
I'm Brazilian and a psychology student. Could you react and talk about the k-drama Daily Doses of Sunshine? It's a wonderful series about patients in a psychiatric hospital narrated by a new nurse. They use a lot of psychiatric terms and have several lines of psychology. It also talks about the involvement of psychiatry/psychology professionals with patients, all the negative and positive sides.
Thank you so very much 🩵
Sunshine is definitely on my list! It'll likely be next after this series.
Good luck on your studies!!
@Psynergic omg that's amazing u can't wait!
When you finish watching this show, I hope you can check out the mini series "Daily Dose of Sunshine" that set in a psychiatric ward. The drama also getting praised by doctors and nurses in South Korea. It was a great show and has a lot of interesting story in it.
Damnnn that was painful 😢 and i do watch your videos till the end ❤❤
Im late to the party hehe but I don’t really like how they tried to minimize gang-tae’s pain like he was being unfair to his mother, the way she made him feel is pretty messed up, and it had lasting impact on him, the way he always puts himself last like his feelings are least important I think definitely related to the way his mother treated him.
you could look at it as trying to get him to look at his past in a different way. no his childhood wasn’t easy but that resentment he feels isn’t good for him. his mother is dead now, he’s not going to get an apology. best way to help that is to understand that it wasn’t meant to hurt him. at least that’s how a lot of people tend to look at things. it’s not as if there wasn’t any empathy there either. if the lady just yelled at him about being ungrateful then yeah it would’ve been no good, but that’s not what happened. and later on when he reminisces about his past it’s different because of the new perspective he tried to take.
U really need to see daily dose of sunshine kdrama too
Yes, this great series is about a nurse who works in a psychiatric hospital. There are only 12 episodes.
I have watched this show so many times but have to say I find it even more interesting listening to your thoughts on it .
