I'm 43 was just hospitalized for low potassium. It was scary. My heart was racing by BP was high I can't so week. They gave me sodium and sent me home. FEW HOURS later and I'm back at the hospital. They found a pe in my left lung. Now 6 weeks later in still suffering. My potassium dropped and I ate high potassium food and a supplement and I felt good again. This stuff is no joke people. Eating food for health is my new goal in life.

so glad you are better. So not sure if this is me but i have been feeling so weak, sleepy and my heart beats not fast but heavy that i feel like you can see my chest moving or head shaking. To day i felt the worst. I was so weak and dizzy i wasn't sure if im was going to pass out so i went to urgent care. My blood pressure was high 135/ 49 first, then 117/75, then 127/95 and the heart was going fast. I had the waves of feeling really weak and weird to feeling better. My potassium was 3.7 where range was 3.5 -5.1. And if you look at the numbers it docent look so bad but when you see the pic of the test you can see that 3.5 is far from the 5.1 and im just right by the 3.5. I really believe this is the problem. Doctors dont obviously. Thank you for sharing

Potassium is inside the cell, sodium is outside. If sodium is low you lose the gradient necessary to pump the cell and potassium begins to level off in the cell until there is equalized potential . So if you are low in sodium you lose potassium. Sodium on the other hand is lowered or stored easily by the kidneys. You actually take stress off the kidneys by having good salt levels.
