The gods did not fail them, they failed the gods.
I like to think that as part of their pact with Hashut they through their books and Records into the volcano as a sacrifice.
So their version of history is incorrect
Imagine an army of fedora-wearing Dwarfs with glorious neckbeards, euphoric from their own enlightenment, doing the Dreamworks-face, tipping their fedoras and chuckling at their Greenskin slaves:
"Heh, you still believe in Gork and Mork? Heh."
And then they go home and write in their Books of Grudges: "Heh, the reason Elves refuse to date us is because we are nice guys, and fair Elven maidens only want Chads. Heh."
Then they rub their bellies, say "heh" one last time, and go to sleep, dreaming about debunking all the pantheons of the other races.

That's just how all armies and characters are in warhammer. Every army is the most dangerous and badass and every hero and lord are the most awesome and unkillable.

fun fact: chorfs dont enslave skaven, they used to, but skaven would send assassins, plague-infested rats, saboteurs, etc. to be purposefully captured, when this was eventually found out, all skaven were kill on sight (also due to the nature of skaven they make terrible slaves unless enslaved by a fellow skaven)
Leave it to the Dawi-Zhar to earn the distinct honor of being the only Chaos worshippers loathed by Chaos. Just how many daemons did they shove into weapons?!
Think about how many artillery pieces England went through during ww1 and you get a bit of an idea of the demand for hell forged weapons.

eh, i mean yes they are "chaos" dwarfs, but thats more so because Hashut is a minor chaos god, they dont actually owe any allegiance to "Chaos" (apart from them being the only few groups that will trade with them)
I mean I understand their motives. They prayed and prayed for their gods to save them yet none answered their calls.
Hashut did though.
It's one of those times when no answer would have been better than the one they got.

This video is gonna need an update, cause apparently, the Chaos Dwarves don't have "slaves", they have "laborers". So they clearly pay them a "livable wage", health insurance, and plenty of spare time for free activities.
The tariff for labourer is too high… they need to buy slaves as soon as possible if they want to be economically competitive!

I always wished that the Chaos Dwarfs had a 40K analogue. I guess it could be argued that the Adeptus Mechanicum kinda fits. Maybe the Dark Mechanicum. But I'd like to see proper Chaos Squats :D

I love how in the quote from the Lorekeeper he's more upset by the fact that they're practicing magic than slavers

I REALLY love those illustrations like at 5:49 as an artist myself. They have that old fashioned kind of horror to them. In todays horror things are skinny and twisted almost faceless. These illustrations are the complete opposite of that and I cannot help but to admire it. It reminds me of that one children’s book where the wild things are but taken up to a mature level

I don't know who the narrator is, but it reminded me of Sir Christopher Lee's reading of The Children of Húrin. Magnificent work for one fo the more obscure factions of the Fantasy universe.

I'm playing a Total War: Warhammer 3 campaign right now as Zhatan the Black, and honestly I don't know that I've ever felt stronger in a Total War game. Just an army of pure, unstoppable evil. I've got control of the chaos wastes and now I'm deep in the process of burning Cathay to ashes.
Book of Choyar should do an episode about:
Grand Cathay.
And episodes about:
Araby.
Tilea.
Esatalia.
Episodes about these nations would be fascinating and epic!
The time has finally come.
As a 7 year veteran of the tww series, I can safely say that I have been waiting for the chaos dwarves more than any other race. Honestly, I doubt I'll touch any of the other races once CA releases them.

@mr oko except there are references to chaos dwarfs in game. A quote saying "our time will come" or something like that. It is a matter of when, not if.
@@PoorManatee6197 Warriors of Chaos faction also has Chaos Dwarf models manning their Hellcannons. It isn't much but it's nice to know they're technically in the game already.
@mr oko Dogs of War can still happen. Every race and faction has the chance. Warhammer Total War isn't finished by any means.
The least likely of the main factions are Araby and Nippon but there is still definitely a chance.

I've waited for a video for so long. But I had no idea that you'd deliver so much in the form of the Chaos Dwarfs.
One thing though - The Dawi would not deny the existence of the Chaos Dwarfs, because Dawi just don't lie. A dawi will not answer, grumble, tell you to mind your beeswax, or just kill you, but they would never lie and claim they don't exist.

Fantastic video got me all hyped for the dlc launch next month *logs Into warhammer 3*
These guys really make me wish the Snow and Sea Elves were more substantiated. As well as another faction of Elves who fell into chaos and culturally devolved almost like the Crypt Ghuls or the Yehtees of the Ogres. Like a Wild Blood Elf faction, worshipping a god twisted by chaos itself. But the Dark Elves already kinda have a monopoly on that, especially torture and slavery. Although I mostly meant some Champions of Chaos stuff like skinning people alive and using their pelts for armor. The thing is that Vampires already rule the roost on Blood related stuff too. I still can't let go that there could probably be another sort of Dark Elf like faction inspired by the Chaos Dwarves. And these Elves would still largely be protected against Slaanesh reaping their souls to feast on them. Partly because the skins they wear hide their spirits from the God of Excess unless he sends his Demon hosts and worshippers to slay them and feed she who thirsts, personally. Like the Dwarves hating their mutant cousins, the Elves of other factions, even the Dark Elves wouldn't want to be around them.

You forgot to mention the Chaos Dwarfs called to their ancestor gods when they were in their greatest need - nobody answered, but Hashut did.
In the hellish call centres of Hashut, even the dead don't sleep. The quest for customer dissatisfaction is eternal.
It would’ve been better had they not answered to Hashut.
Now they’re all but damned.

As i am listening to this, i cant help but wonder. Is the existence of Chaos Dawi a living proof of what can happen when two or more of the chaos god brothers work together, Hashut, is either a minor chaos god, most likely belonging to Khorne given its nature and appearance. Khorne values the Dawis hard trained combat prowess, their dedication to becoming stronger, defeating their enemies, even when Khorne himself is one of their enemies, he also values their honor and discipline, but he could not corrupt them as they are resistant to magic influences, but what if Hashut (provided he is a minor diety or archdaemon of Khorne) was put in place with the help and manipulation of Khornes brother Tzeentch? Khorne desired to see the Dawi serving the chaos proving that no one is immune to the inlfuence of chaos, but he knew that they would never except him as their god, Tzeentch told him to provide them with another god that they could worship, one they did not know of until they were desperate for survival and to make it out alive, and to ''settle the grudges of their traitor kinsmen who abandoned them'' Khorne does not like manipulating his enemies, he views it as dishonest, but he also knew of the pride he could take in being able to break the Dawi at least in some way even if they dont worship him or any of his brothers, but he would still the mortal world that chaos can influence anyone, even the stuborn Dawi.

Considering their nature when dealing with grudges and the fact that shame dwarves are exiled to be Slayers fighting until they died it only makes sense that eventually a chaos Dwarven faction would emerge.
