Distance tyre-pull run. My solo PB is 31.5km so would be really interested to see what three experienced athletes of GTN calibre could do running together (maybe a 50k?).
@@Morfeusm - I remember Mark did the 4x4x48 Goggins Challenge a while back (his video inspired me to do similar but 44% longer in same time). Perhaps try that for 96 hrs.
Oh right he already did that, but others didn’t….. Okay I have a different one: Running and swimming across Belgium! Alternatively Wales or something. Or maybe switching biking runs and swimming and choosing bigger country! The whole team too (all three presenters)!
I would love to know how many marathons the naysayers have actually run in their lives. I am willing to bet they haven't even done one let alone 7 in 7 days like Mark and James did. That is why I am saying, way to go Mark and James! You guys are warriors for accomplishing what you did.
Keyboard warriors... My rule of thumb is only listen to those who have actually done what you are attempting, or similar. There will always be someone who has done more, gone faster, added more elevation or obstacles... however, a challenge is only that when it is personal to the level of the individual athlete. For someone who has only ever ran a 42k and then rested, doing 7 in a week is one heck of a challenge, and therefore valid. Athletes who do these multi-day events build up to that in stages over a long period of time. My challenges are always more than previous, stretching me by a factor of 20-30% added volume etc. and that's spot on. Any more would be stupid... all in good time. I, for one, think you both did fab.
Wow! I can’t believe people would actually call you out for doing something like this. Especially when we all know your team is out to solely educate us! I mean, everything you do is to talk about the experience, prep/during/recovery. Thank you for not adhering to the nay sayers, because your true friends (like me😉).
Thanks! We know people are have done much harder challenges but we are glad you guys loved this video 🙌 Has it got you excited to take on challenges of your own?
Damn, i'm still chasing my first sub4 on a single marathon ... doing 7 in 7 days is a hell of an achievement! There's always someone to pull others down ... just ignore them ... they are a waste of oxygen! All the best for 2024!
Thank you so much for the behind thr scenes, so to speak! What I found most interesting is the differences between the two of you, in preparation, admin but also just the psychological aspect. I would actually love a longer video on that.
I am sorry you had to endure the comments from the haters, I find that to be judgmental and terrible. That you accomplished the task, as people with “lives” too, is incredible. That you came back on air to discuss the feat, and admit the comments stung, took courage…these are things that some of us competitive athletes like to see, listen to, be inspired by…thanks for what you do…and i am not a tri athlete, i am a competitive rower who uses running, riding and swimming as cross training…but a competitive sport mind is just that…we feed off of the positivity, side step the hate, and move on. Thanks
You should be amazingly proud of what you did. Anyone can say someone else did more but I bet the commenters haven’t even done 1 marathon let alone 7!! Brilliant 🎉
Were 7 beers in 7 hours involved in James and Mark coming up with this challenge in the first place? Seriously though, thanks for doing this post-mortem. After seeing the original video, and how wet your feet must have been getting, I had wanted to know about foot care (wet feet can be prone to maceration) - I'm glad you covered this.
Just came across this video as I plan on my own 7 marathons in 7 days in August to hopefully raise a bit of cash for the Alzhiemers Society- really useful watch, have taken loads from it- thanks guys!
You guys inspire me and help me keep going at age 64. I hate that anyone would be negative towards you. You are really a positive influence on so many people.
Thanks for doing this video, I've been looking for some inspiration as I'm running 60 marathons in 52 weeks to mark my 60th birthday which was last August and to raise money for charity! I'm not as far on as I should be and it's starting to get me down! I've been working on a marathon a week minimum but sometimes missing them for various reasons, but now I'm thinking I might just include some 7 in 7s like you did or some double marathons to catch up! 😊 Enjoyed watching your video! Thanks Dave
Seriously impressive to do this challenge during the UK winter vs. heading down somewhere like Club La Santa or tagging it onto the Oct. visit to Kona. Chapeau guys!
Well ... I think that is amazing and a fun challenge to make videos about. Don't listen to those complainers. I cannot suggest another torture for you when I cannot yet do much. I hope to do a first marathon distance run in 2024, but ... so far a half marathon distance takes me 2.5 hours and I have rubbing here and there and my knees are destroyed by the the end of it. I need to work out myself before suggesting you to do more probably :) Thanks for inspiring us with all these great videos.
Incredible effort guys!!! Anyone that has ran a marathon knows how hard it is. I’m currently training for my second marathon and I’m running 75 Km per week, 7 marathons are 295,4 Km, this is crazy!!! 😱😱😱
Unfortunately Canada is a little far, if i were any closer to you guys i would join you in 2 or 3 of them! I give a lot of credit for me loving this sport
Very insightful. I celebrate every ones achievements even if it just a walk to the end of the driveway. Comparison takes away joy. I have no desire to do what you guys did, those routes were at times horrible. I'll stick to my own goals. 3 duathlons and 3 Olympic distance Triathlons this year and the goal is to be top 5 in my age group, 65 to 69. (my age group not too many so I think achievable). Cheers
Ignore the trolls guys !! You did an amazing and inspiring job !! People will comment from the confort of their sofas. Keep going and producing content to motivate us newbies outthere 🎉🎉. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
STOP! Forget the marathons 14:07 Spiral Bound Music what was on the Piano???? Could not quite make out the dots.. But some of the beams looked to be at a good angle. Who is the pianist? and what was the music?
Would be good to actually hear you talk a little more about kit choice, especially with you facing the weather that you did, are there any particular pieces of kit you found that really helped? Any particular favourites or wind/rain running jackets? Any favourites for hydration packs or even, seeing you run through lakes and rivers of the UK, waterproof socks worth mentioning?
This is not a hate comment. Just curious if you guys have heard of Rus cook aka hardest geezer. He’s running the entire length of Africa at the moment. Just reminded me becuase he to is doing ultras everyday. Good work guys! That’s quite the accomplishment
#gtncoachescorner @gtn Super impressive efforts. There are too many armchair warriors comparing their or other's efforts against other people's and downplaying people's efforts to boost their own insecurities. Ignore them. That being said, I'm new to this sport( I'm coming from powerlifting) and would love to hear more about the endurance mindset. How to convince myself that I have the power to keep plodding on at a steady pace instead of a max power strike attitude. I notice that I can psych myself out that the race or trail will never end. I guess the best example-and part of my training- is I'm summiting 26 mountains this year to help me to get rid of that give up attitude. My last hike was 7.2 miles ( 11.7 Km) on 8 -16.5%grade trails here in Colorado. I love the power of going up but coming down stinks. I stood staring at the bottom of a 16.5% grade hill I needed to go up and proclaimed that " this is the never ending trail" convinced I was never going to make it back. I wanted to cry and flop down on the ground right there. ( turns out that was the last hill and my car was 50 yards away from the top.) How do you push through your bonks? -I was Fueling and hydrating every 30 minutes. - the bad thing was that I was in zone 4-6 most of the way so my calves started shaking everytime I stopped at the end. Stretching out helped. -it took 3 days to fully recover My next mountain summit is only 1.7 miles (3.4 miles or 5.5 Km) but has a 27.5% grade trail and I'd love to implement some of those strategies...if you get to this before I go up there. Keep up the great work
One thing I dislike about social media is that it exposes us to so many extremes, exposing everything that doesn't quite reach those heights to criticism a la "what about this". What you guys did is an incredible achievement. Just running a marathon is tough and should be celebrated. Keep up the great work, friends!
First I will say, what you two did is amazing. Running a marathon is HARD. Then I will say very silence, that a women in Denmark ran a marathon every day for a year. I have run 3 marathons and its HARD and not for me, I stay with cycling :D
Would love to have a training plan to do a marathon from you guys. I just did my first triathlon which was pucon 70.3 and I did it with your beginner to 70.3 plan. Please let me know if you have a plan that I can follow
Thank you for making this video! Both of you are simply amazing!! #SocialMediaDoneRight 😆😃👍 #GTNCoachesCorner the psychology of high endurance events! Please share your experiences and learnings!! Got a sneak preview of it in this video, but would love to know more of how you go through the harder days and your mindset on race day! Thanks, again!!
#gtncoachescorner Love the content. I may have made a bad (but fun) decision. I just signed up for a full distance Xterra triathlon that is two weeks before a sprint that I had already signed up for. What should those two weeks look like? I know to focus on recovery but an a little unsure of how to balance recovery and staying fit for the sprint. Thank you!
Which challenge would you like to see us take on next? 🤔
Goggins challenge! But all of you not just the one who draws the shortest straw lol

What about Hydrox? GTN vs Joe Skipper
Ignore the haters. You’re on another level to me, but love your content and find it very motivating
I would love to know how many marathons the naysayers have actually run in their lives. I am willing to bet they haven't even done one let alone 7 in 7 days like Mark and James did. That is why I am saying, way to go Mark and James! You guys are warriors for accomplishing what you did.
Same I can bearly walk 2k steps a day for 7 days let alone do a marathon.
Motivation is why we do this! Awesome to hear that you are feeling fired up after watching out videos 🙌
The best part of that video was Ollie “1000km in one ride” Bridgewood looking down from the window with the “you’re crazy look” 😂
To be fair, he would probably do the same if they ware doing short runs too :D
Hahahah he's just as mad as us 😂

Thanks for the inspo. I have a 2024 marathon-a-month goal. And I’m no athlete so my first marathon I walked. It felt great. Can’t wait for next month
Wow that's a big challenge! Great to hear you are pushing yourself in 2024, take it easy though and try and enjoy the journey 🙌
Dear Mark, I appreciate your GTN videos. I wish you were my sports coach! MY best wishes to you.

Aiming to do this challenge hopefully in spring/summer (work depending work 5/7 nights)

Change hours for minuets and you've got it 😂 Glad you found this useful, would you ever do a challenge like this?
Just came across this video as I plan on my own 7 marathons in 7 days in August to hopefully raise a bit of cash for the Alzhiemers Society- really useful watch, have taken loads from it- thanks guys!
I am still so impressed! Loved this video as well! Thanks for talking a bit more about the behind the scenes
It was nice to watch your earlier post on this and is is a good idea to share your strategy!
Love your take on running. You make it look like fun because it is.
You guys inspire me and help me keep going at age 64. I hate that anyone would be negative towards you. You are really a positive influence on so many people.
I think any effort someone makes is worthy. Whether it's their first 5K or a marathon, ultra and anything in between

Well done i just did my first marathon in 2023 and i want to do another 1 in May
Awesome….really enjoyed the video….brilliant, love watching the GTN challenges….👏👏👊
I wouldn't want to do 1 marathon, so major kudos to both of you!
We love you guys!! Haters gonna hate… because they don’t have the guts or skillz to do any of the things yall do. Keep on truckin 💪🏽💪🏽🥳🥳

Don't listen to anyone telling you it's "no big deal", they're probably not runners 😊
James’ internet hater voice is the best 😂
Not gonna lie, when it comes to running you guys are my heroes. (And Heather too) :D
great video idea! loved seeing 18 minutes of BTS. mad job guys!

First of all congratulations guys! What an achievement! Inspired by Sir Kevin Sinfield (he deserves a knighthood imho)? #teamMND
Well done both

I just finished this challenge 300km for the week. It was difficult but I really enjoyed it . Lost 2 toenails😂
Amazing - well done!
Thank you for making this video! Both of you are simply amazing!! #SocialMediaDoneRight 😆😃👍

You guys are great… getting skinny , extra dessert should be fine !
"Before we do..."

2024 GTN 7 ironmen in 7 days? 🫣😇 Do it in Dubai for a week in Dubai! It's Uber flat and incredible weather ❤️
