It's ironic that I watched the independent pilot of "Mystery Incorporated" just last night, only to wake to this news 😅 I hope Netflix bought the rights to that project, or at the very least took notes
I'm a little worried about it, but if it has the same energy as Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated when it comes to balancing both comedy, horror, dark, and not taking its self too seriously when it comes to the "teen drama" then I'm excited.
@@billymoore7182 Same, I'm just hoping they have Scooby-Doo talk in the show not just be a normal realistic dog. I want them to embrace the Cartooness of the show.
Riverdale, Sabrina, Addams Family, and Dead Boys do work well in live action. But, I wouldn't want to see another attempt at another live action Scooby. There is a fan film called "Coolville" that did the property justice. Also, there was the Scooby/Supernatural crossover that also made a mature Scooby cartoon. Plus, after the last few live action attempts with Cowboy Bebop and Fate: The Winx Sage failed and the success of One Piece and Avatar: TLAB, I'm worried this Scooby project will be dead.

@@danielland3767 well so far Avatar: The Last Airbender and One Piece are here to stay and Netflix knows how to cast great people in legacy characters so I think live action Scooby Doo is safe
Just because Riverdale is one of the most watched series on the platform doesn't mean it's good and scooby wouldn't probably be a good property to Riverdalize since we know how well that series was coherent
I would be very excited about this if it weren’t being done by Berlanti Productions, the company responsible for one of the worst, most unfaithful adaptations of all time, Riverdale. 😞 As long as they don’t race-swap the characters like they did in Velma, I’ll be happy
I'm more skeptical about the genre format they're going to put these characters, but IF done correctly, there seems to be something there. At least, unlike the dreaded, thankfully dead PPG series, this can lend itself well to a young adult series (the gang are young adults, lest we forget). PPG would have stripped the show's original format of satire for a lame, dour, bitter grown up level of humor that would fail to resonate. And we'd DEFINITELY not see the same problem with Velma, an out of date Gen-X sense of reference humor that never shuts up and holds the concept back. Maybe the franchise needs an ACTUAL serious take. Every Scooby-Doo cartoon since the 80's has had some level of self-parody, be it subtle like "What's New" or far bolder with the humor aspects like "Pup" or "Be Cool." I'm just saying, if they want to do this RIGHT, we need them to watch the original Zombie Island movie and model it on that movie's tone.
I knew this fancast would come in handy. For Mystery Inc.: Alex Aiono as Fred Jones Zendaya as Daphne Blake Tom Holland as Norville "Shaggy" Rogers Naomi J.
