Wow, thank you so much for this information! I’ve been def preparing/researching so I can take my big leap for something new. Your whole channel/vids are dope! Keep it coming
We were lucky both with the airbnb landlord as well as with the 6mo apartment's landlord - we had a horrible experience in mexico... hoping for a better landlord after our lease expires...
Awesome video! Beautiful background! 😆. I plan on definitely checking out CDMX. Native New Yorker here so this place really attracts me! Thanks for the valuable info. Looking forward to more! Have fun! (Liked and Subscribed) 💯💜❤️🙏
Just discovered your channel and loving the calm, realistic info you present! Since this is only the 2nd vid I’ve seen, might be a fluke, but please consider leaving up text on screen for longer than a split second - had to reverse and fast forward several times just to catch and pause inmubles24 on the screen, and if I had blinked wouldn’t have realized it was even there. 😁
New subbie! Starting planning and getting things ready to make my move to Playa Del Carmen. Can you make a video about hurricane season? Things to know! - I love all your videos btw💗
Blessings to you I am thinking about retiring in Mexico and plan to move at the end of the year I will be making my first stop in Mexico City in the month of November is that a good month and where could I possibly meet up with other African Americans from the u.s. survey when I arrived in Mexico
Hi misako thanks for the video ive been curious about this topic. Also can you maybe do a future video on what dating is like for a female expat, visitor or foreigner (not sure the best term) in Mexico including dating Mexican and non Mexican natives? Every time I see a question about this it’s usually a male asking. Interested in hearing the female perspective -also if there’s any open minded enm in Mexico as well or if it’s very traditional (marriage kids) still
Hello, i'm mexican, dating mexicans is a little different of the US, a few years ago I used Tinder, you can find all you want, I found my girlfriend, but after that I was just looking for girls to hangout, we mexicans are a little bit tradicional but we are also open mind with people from other countries, once you already stablish and make friends you will feel more confident. If you need any help just ask. Saludos!
Thank you so much! I am signing my lease Wednesday for my new place. I wanted to know do you get the contracts to review before you give the money? Silly question but I just want to make sure my process goes smoothly. I have my temp Mexican passport but they just went off my US passport. Anything I should look out for ? The agent seems amazing and he speaks English, Spanish and French. But I just want to know if there are any questions I should ask at closing
I thought you could only stay in Mexico 6 months per year on the tourist visa? Can a tourist sign a lease? I’ve been seriously thinking about moving to Mexico from the USA. 🙏
Thank you for sharing your information and experiences, Misako. Question about money transfer/conversion... Is one process to transfer money from a US bank and convert them to Pesos, is to: Withdraw US cash from an ATM in Mexico. And then take the US dollars it to a money exchange place, then exchange them to pesos? Does that seem correct? I am grateful for your help. And, your videos are very good. Thank you. Be Well.
No, don't do a bank transfer, you're asking for trouble. Just use your debit card and withdraw money from the ATM. Or get a "Wise" debit card while you're in the US and use it as a way to transfer USD into PESOS or any other form of currency without paying huge conversion fees. Almost everyone uses the Wise card (used to be called Transferwise card".
I have a Transferwise (Wise) debit card. I've used it around Europe and now here in MX. I just transfer money from the states into pesos with one click. You can then withdraw from an atm. With Wise, you will also have a regular debit card, and you can also have a virtual card to use for shopping online and billpay.
It depends on which plan you have in the US. For instance, Blue Cross Blue Shield has HMO and PPO plans. Most of their PPO plans cover all international medical claims no matter which country you live in (almost). You would just keep your USA plan. Mexico has insurance companies and of course they will be cheaper, but definitely evaluate your situation because once you let go of a USA medical plan associated with your employment/retirement, you can't get it back. But, look at the fine print of your health insurance policy and see if they cover medical expenses (other than emergencies) in other countries. If so, they will be listed with the international health insurance liaison company that is responsible for coordinating your insurance with a Mexican hospital or clinic. So, that company communicates with the medical facility so you don't have to. Whatever you do, just don't get rid of your insurance if at all possible.
Thinking about doing a Mexico move for 6-10 months and love all of your helpful tips - I am going to keep my remote job in CA, so the wife connection is VERY important, how is the connection with Total Play???
Awesome videos! Thank you for the tips! Also i was told that you need to have a income coming from the country you moved from while you stay in mexico. (Im from Chicago) is that true?? If so for how long?
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽❤️ So for the temporary resident visa you definitely do have to make your income from outside of Mexico. Whether it has to come from your home country or not, that I do not know! And you have to prove at least 6 months of income to be eligible 🙏🏽
Awesome video! I plan on going home in the summer and applying for residency so that I can move to Mexico City in the fall! Did you have any trouble signing a 1 year lease on a 6-month tourist visa?
Thank you, Brandon! I actually didn't have my visa when I got my apartment!! My landlords just trusted my word that I was planning to stay, which I'm super grateful for.
Can u do a video about buying property im a dual citizen and i want to buy a house. But i hear very many scary stories. Also do u plan on living there for 5 years cause if u do u can become a dual citizen aswell
Very helpful info. How do you trust ppl with cash payments? What if the landlord is dishonest and denies receiving those monthly payments in advance? ***Yes, I have issues. I've been burned too many times😔😂
😂😂 I don’t blame you. I’m currently paying month to month in cash for where I’m staying in France & I just request receipts with each rent payment I give.
You paid about a half month's rent for a "póliza jurídica", which is a type of insurance that makes sure you are who you say you are and able to pay the monthly rent. It paid for those lawyers asking you all those questions---so you should not expect to get it back.
Thank you so much for your videos! My husband and I are moving to CDMX on the 27th and can’t wait. May I ask where do you get your hair done?
Thank *you* for being here, Misako!
Ugh making me want to move to Mexico with every video you upload about it!
You'll like it a lot better than the US, I can guarantee it.
Looking to move to Mexico for a few years. Your tips are a GREAT place to start. Thank you.

@@lifeisjustswell Thx.
I see you mentioned shipping. I have a Shopify store and concerned on how i can ship my U.S customers their packages. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks you! I wanted to move next year, I’m wondering about health care. Can I stick with my American plan?
