Activision just simply taking a few years off the COD games, would do wonders for the franchise. Less development pressure, more time to come up with new, unique and interesting ideas and more time to really perfect the core mechanics as well as the story, balancing and map design. And more simply, having some time away from a certain franchise builds so much more hype. Look at Halo, hasn't had a new entry in over 5 years, and look how much more excited people are for that (generally speaking). Also, it's not even like the cod games are really bad or anything, like you said, they're a well oiled machine, but too much of anything is a bad thing, whether it is good or not. I will be so disappointed if they release a new one next year, it's probably pretty likely, but a man can dream. PS: Lots of good points in the comments here! No matter who your favourite developer is, or whether you still play the new cods and enjoy them or not, it's clear that something drastic has to be done sooner rather than later, in order to keep the interest going. I think everyone just wants another truly great cod game, not another 5 "meh" games before 1 amazing game.
Ya'll do know Activision has 2 different teams making COD's?! Each team brings a game out every 2 years, wich make it possible for Activision to bring 1 out every year. My opinion is that this team always brings out the better COD 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Exactly, they still have a lot of good things in the games, even when they release every year. But releasing every year makes them compromise on cruical stuff like gamebreaking issues and less content in cold war. Not so good flow in maps of mw19 etc. Taking a year off would make it really good, otherwise even if mw2022 launches and it's incredible, people would be so off the franchise they wouldn't have that enthusiasm
When games become “too familiar” it’s proof you don’t need to buy every single one that comes out. It’s similar to people who buy FIFA/Madden every year. At some point you deserve what you get for buying the same game with minor tweaks yearly.
People have been telling other people for years to stop buying COD. I'm still playing World at War. Haven't bought a COD since. I was given MW2 and Black Ops, played those, they were alright but I always go back to play World at War on PC. Still holds up. I likely won't ever buy a Call of Duty ever again.
Nah better now there's a pack and everything it feels better just waiting for another map of some kind that's all its really fun when you jump in it just can get boring after too long is all
@@gangstagummybear3432 Not really, you can't use a franchise as an excuse for reusing a lot. For instance play far cry 2 then 3 then play 5 or 6. There are multiple jumps in all games (besides 5 and 6, also not counting certain titles 5 and new dawn or new dawn and 6). My point is most dev studios have just gotten lazy so you think it's okay to be sold the same game every year COUGH any ea sports game COUGH.
Still wished Activision took years off before releasing a new CoD. I thought they should kept supporting Modern Warfare, but they're the 2K/Madden of military fps.
Yeah. The first real red dot that could be used for normal weapons used by infantry was made in 1975. Before that they were only used in aircraft because their batteries were so big that you just couldn't use it on a rifle. Also many of the attachments would make the weapons unfunctional. I mean i do like customization, but this is just stupid.
6:16 "Shout out to World at War" Bro WAW was the best WW2 based cod game ! The campaign was gritty, dark and violent. Some missions genuinely gave you an idea of how intense WW2 really was. That final mission where you place the Soviet Flag on top of the Reichstag was such a satisfying feeling. And that Stalingrad sniper mission was just so brutal and real ! Zombies, really what can you say ? It's the OG, the one that got everyone obsessed. And that 3rd DLC pack map I think it was spelled Der Reise is easily the best Zombies map in COD history. Super engaging, simple and had just the amount of add ons to make the gameplay enjoyable but not too gimmicky. How OP you felt when you had both a Pack a Punch'd Ray Gun and Wonderwaffe ! And lastly multiplayer.... Really underrated honestly. Sandwiched between 2 great multiplayer games. (COD4 and MW2) It was so short lived and honestly, it had some of the best gun balance and of any cod game. Sure the MP40 and the PPSH we're player favorites but even guns like the Type 100 or BAR we're relatively reliable with the right set up. I even remember all 5 sniper rifles were easily competitive with each other. The player movement was also very similar to COD4s so that's a plus too ! All in all WAS was such a short but sweet ride for me & I'd honestly put it as the 2nd best all around COD game just behind MW2. Miss those days !
Exactly, and I think they understand that but you know most of their fan base is people who just like to play fast arcade shooter so they kinda tries to add few realism at the same time keeping things over the top, mix things up. Also there is a mission(the jungle one)completely inspired from waw but obviously they made it look hella nice and intense.
@@lafrek8145 it is now because people accept it. There used to be a huge PR punishment for games that tried to release incomplete. I still know people who refuse to look at No Man's Sky
This is the result of gamers pre ordering games before there is even a game made to buy. Why should they spend the money and go the extra mile to make a great game. They already sold you.
That’s game development of the future. Games are bigger, more expensive, and take much longer to make. Yet, companies still need to make yearly profits to appease investors. They cannot spend as much time as they want making a passion project. Gaming is a business, and their turnaround needs to be reasonable. So until they somehow manage to develop AAA games quicker and minimizing all the bugs that come with fast pace development, this is the way of the business for awhile.
Idk it's about as disrespective as Inglorious Basterds. The characters are more action moviey then what was reality. But I don't think it's to the point of beeing insulting.
@@Sharcade0 Comparing the passion behind that film and the passion behind these annual 60$ dog treats… If the game was actually groundbreaking or written excellently with passion it wouldn’t be so disrespectful. CoD world at war is a great example of how to be respectful and still tell a story through gameplay in a horrifically real historical setting. Not this breakfast club in the middle of a war zone b.s.
It’s obviously not trying to be a serious/realistic WW2 experience, that much should be obvious from the fictional boss character and plot. I see it as more of a setting/backdrop for the game. It feels more like Inglorious Basterds than Saving Private Ryan.
Pretty much all I do is online, and I'm glad they did the free Vanguard weekend because it convinced me to not waste my money on it because the online is a major step back from Cold War
"I still think they should've taken a year off, focused on their other projects" What other projects Jake? Activision literally makes nothing else at this point (activision, not activision blizzard)
Honestly your videos are always so thorough but this takes the cake I love how honest and open you are with this one. You didn’t fill it with just negative bullet points. This was a very refreshing and comprehensive Before You Buy. Thank you guys!
"It's really early." What happened to games not needing hundreds of updates after you buy them? the only things they should be fixing should be glitches.
They don't fix anything ever, unless it's a micro transaction issue, then it's fixed within a couple hours. Every gameplay update they release they just breaks it more.
@@FullThrottlePod shit, I had Warzone for a year and when they were about to drop CW, MW went on sale for 50% off (on Blizzards site). I’m sure the same will happen with this one in 6 months to a year. Honestly, if the Warzone integration is shit I’m prob gonna be done with COD for a while.
COD is just playing the relevance game at this point.. As long as they keep showing up, people will keep buying it. I wonder when the franchise will actually fall off (like PES soccer games lost to FIFA)
Same with battlefield and halo. When are we gonna get something original also as ur opinion as cod just being relevant. Cod outsell it's competition for a reason. Cod has had many God tier games like black ops 1 and 2. Modern warfare 2 and 3. Black ops 3 has plenty of community on steam with zombies maps. Cod will never die but I would like them to just make a standalone zombies game. It would be amazing. And it would be refreshing
@@anthonyf616 time frame doesn't matter. I see alot of people criticism of cod for it doing the same thing over and over and Nothing new and battlefield and halo are the exact same.
I know realism isn’t what they were focused on, but it bothered me when I got to the Japanese missions and they were sporting STG- 44’s and Lugers in some encounters. I think it may have been a mistake but it stood out for me.
@@artemisgames2150 it was a real weapon, just not used in the war. This is a battlefield 1 situation, as the game employs various prototypes and experimental weapons that were historical yet unimplemented.
As someone who hasn’t played the new cods, I thought it was amazing, of course I saw MW 2019 but never played it, but i’ve been able to play Vanguard and it’s been really fun and it feels so nice to use the guns.
I used to HAVE to have call of duty. The first one and the following couple of semi historical ones were unreal. The original modern warfare was game changing. These yearly updates have become hugely missable.
I agree. World at War and the 2 Modern Warfare ones were amazing. Then they lost their minds and started releasing crap every month. The World at War Zombie defense was intense. I tried their new zombie defense one a few years back and it had none of the charm of the original.
Campaign looked like it would be disappointing. Idk I grew up playing the OG CoD games since the first game, and the old Medal of Honor games as well. WaW had a very memorable campaign. I love WW2 games but if the campaign is just a generic meh I will pass
It's not only them making one every year, but that with the three, or however many, companies that rotate to release one, it just feels like they end up with a weird circle with each company trying to out do the other like the ESO logo of the three serpents eating the other's tail. Either they just stop toying around and call it what it is, CoD 2022, or just shake hands with each other and release one CoD, maybe every 3rd year. I will say that I enjoy the mindlessness of just hopping into a CoD and shooting the enemies, but I'm skipping Vanguard since I still have like 3 or 4 other CoDs that I do enjoy playing for their story, or multiplayer.
@@Will-zi6fn The fuck are you talking about? CoD made their popularity by making historically accurate WW2 games in the beginning. Even when they went back on it in CoD WaW, it’s one of their best games ever
They already did that with CoD4: MW, and then MW2, but after that they stopped, I would LOVE a remaster of WaW but it doesn’t really make sense when WWII was out and Vanguard was about to be released, so there was already space taken for WW2 games, as well as BF1 and BFV being set in WWI and WWII, all at the same time I feel like the best formula was back around that time too, even the original black ops would be cool to be remastered
For the way Gameranx usually talks about games, this is a REALLY negative review lol i've never seen them actually say something is 'negative' like they did for the zombies
the game is shit and only blind in denial fans keep saying it is good. People really lack critical thinking nowadays. The flaws and laziness of this game are so big and yet blind fanboys choose to ignore them once more.
People: "uhhggg it's too familiar Cod devs: "ok how about jet packs?" People: "noooo it's too different" Cod devs: "ok so then back to the old stuff" People: "uhhhgg it's too familiar"
As an outsider, this has been the least hyped up COD since Infinite Warfare. I get the feeling this is going to be considered a disaster once the dust settles.
I think the hype wasn't really there because bad marketing and especially the subpar Beta experience. The beta had all sorts of problems, many of them are now fixed at launch. Ive been playing a day now and even though there is always a "honeymoon" phase, I think I can say with certainty this is an excellent addition. Obviously not everyone has the same wishes for a CoD game. But this is game is really fast-paced, unlike the really campy "tactical" MW2019, and I just like that (Also Infinite Warfare is one of my favourite CoD games, partially due to its fast-paced gameplay)
I no life’d Both MW19 and WZ, hated CW and really wasn’t looking forward to this until I saw gameplay. Looked clean, but the beta was dogshit and so broken. Pleasantly surprised with how great it feels and the great flow/pacing this year. Refreshing
@@binns5302 the greatest tragedy with MW was the fundamental design of MP. The best engine ever was unfortunately in constant conflict with flawed design. I'm not sure if you at all remember it's release since this doesn't at all feel like that on any grounds other than the base engine. I'm not saying this one's perfect but yes, it's incredibly refreshing, to have a FPS that looks and feels gorgeous while also having people mindlessly charge around the map. Which is all I look for in a cod
I’m surprised COD is still a living series. They release the same game year after year. I mean it’s ridiculous. I think the best thing they’ve done was release war zone. I actually thoroughly enjoyed playing that. COD campaign plot lines are trash. The multiplayer is mediocre. Like there are games with way better combat. Just a lazy series
If anything 2 years, they should have somehow made mw a bit better like they should not have made it as repetitive, skipped Cold War and vanguard, then take those 2 years and make something huge, but I don’t ever this there will a game like that, they may be fun for a while but that’s about it. There just running out of ideas at this point.
I got the game at launch and was looking forward to the countless rounds of zombies. However, I was surprised that zombies is only 5 “rounds” of go there do this come back here and repeat. It’s got some fun, but it’s not what I was expecting. TL DR: I liked going 40 rounds in Firebase Z, the zombies this time is nothing like that
imo, I'd recommend checking out zombies in several months, since it looks like they were hella rushed to make it. Some people assume that a lot of fundamentals will change with this zombies, so just keep an eye out in like summer time or sum.
Campaign: 5/10 - not great, not terrible. Multiplayer: 8/10 - gameplay looks and feels very smooth and very fun. Maps flow nicely. Servers a bit poor as of launch but will no doubt be fixed soon. Gunsmith is pretty overwhelming which is either a pro or con depending on how much you like to customize. Overall one of the better multiplayer experiences in the newer cod era. Zombies: 1/10 - probably one of the worst zombies in a cod game ever. It’s not round based. Challenges are extremely repetitive as there are only 3. No Easter egg at all.
From what you say, my opinions Campaign: good then. It doesn't seem like the focus was the story. Just give me something to play through for a couple of hours and we good Multiplayer: have to agree. Also, having a lot of customization is always good... Except for the balancing team, that's a nightmare Zombies: well, it seems they said they will add a patch soon for it. For now, let's just do what you do during the game and wait around
Idk. Myself I don't get tired of WW2 shooters. I'm too in love with historical shooters But I don't see myself getting anything here that I can't get in better WW2 shooters or a better CoD I'm still sad Battlefield V sunk itself with the marketing beforehand because that game is pretty solid This to me doesn't look like the CoD World at War sequel I've wanted since it came out
Tranzit, moon and origins are probably my favorite zombie maps. The waw version of Nacht der untoten allows you to combine the ammo of both the scoped and non-scoped kar98s so you keep the non-scoped empty and use the scoped kar98 with double the ammo get to really high rounds that way but that only works on the ps3 waw version but on the remake on black ops 3 I think its 3 it does not double the ammo that's just dumb took all the fun out of it for me. on ps3 waw is disc only and my ps3 stop reading discs a long long time ago so its like a zombie map I will never play again messed up.
All the modern sights and scopes feel like a missed opportunity to me. It would have been cool to have mostly iron sights to make this game feel different from the more modern cods.
For a multiplayer perspective, this game is a definite step up from MW and CW. I think if you’re someone who wants to grind for warzone or just likes cod multi, this is a highlight game in the franchise out of the last few years.
how come no one is talking about how amazing the graphics and sound are? this is my first ps5 game and i cant believe how good this game looks and sounds. i haven't played a cod game since the wii u and i cant believe how good this game is
To be honest, from what I have seen so far I feel like Red Orchestra did a better job at portraying Stalingrad than Vanguard does.... almost 10 years ago.
@@IWILLNEVERDIE885 I think he was comparing the 2021 version. Like it doesn't makes sense to get the 2020 (first M1) version then replace it with the new one this year because they brought back ports. Agree not a good comparison though, no one should buy a MacBook every year.
On the flip side id love to buy just the multiplayer. CoD campaigns have seriously dropped in quality over the years, or maybe Black Ops just spoiled me.
No. The COD campaigns are really disappointing for me. And Cold War just pissed me off. They had an opportunity to dive into the complexities of the Cold War, such an interesting time, and they produced a shit story. “Evil Russian wants to nuke America.” Thats the whole story. This is so dumb first because it doesn’t even remotely reflect the reality of the Cold War. Also because it’s just so damn one dimensional. What if they just spent some time to construct a story that feels real and motivates you to do the missions? I just personally feel that the stories are bad. The plot lines could have been written by kids. And if you want a linear cinematic FPS, I’m sure there are better ones out there that don’t cost you as much
I have been buying CoD only for the single player these last few years. The SP campaign just like in WW2 does not disappoint if you ask me. The multiplayer. Well, the last CoD MP that I enjoyed was in CoD 2 or CoD 4. The fast-paced gameplay that you see in most games now is just not for me. I like the fact that the CoD campaigns are a bit more lineair and have a good story, instead of an open sandbox game where you put in 60+ hours of doing side missions which take up more than than the actual main storyline.
You might enjoy battlefield multiplayer. It can be challenging for sure but it’s not the same sort of fast paced as cod. Specifically battlefield 1 is an awesome fairly new one.
the characters are great but I feel like the whole campaign is just an introduction to this characters and a prologue....they're definitely gonna put most of the story in the game seasons :v ..........WAW still did WWII best
Personally. The cod campaign i really enjoyed was infinite warfare. I know the majority of people will disagree or say that I'm an idiot. But that is my opinion
@@xgamerunknown6414 Agreed. The Infinite Warfare campaign was the standout campaign of all the future and near-future CODs. The writing stood out to me.
@@jaktrapt I mean multiplayer is the whole point of COD really. Buying COD for a single player experience is kind of a waste, there are so many other games you could be playing like god of war for example from a single player standpoint
Could have sold this with just the Multiplayer as CoD: Armorer's Arena. With all the odd attachments for the various weapons this go around, it really feels like the mad scientist version of gunsmithing. Would probably sell better too, just free the attachments, add a reliability/wear system for mods that really shouldn't go together that resets every match so you can run around with ridiculous loadouts without sacrificing too much fun to balance/"realism" and back it up with the Call Of Duty tried and true multiplayer model and you'd have a repackaged gem you could sell as brand new with a minimal amount of polish.
I disagree as I wouldn't buy it if it was multiplayer only. There's no reason for them not to include the full package especially for the 70 bucks I'm about to pay to play it. Why would you think more people would be willing to pay for less? The last time they tried that it didn't sell well at all. The more you include in the package the more customers it attracts. That's just simple economics.
Definitely skipping this cod. I wasn't particularly impressed by the beta so I waited for this video and hearing about how boring the zombies mode apparently is definitely turned me off.
The last COD I played was the MW reboot...and even that, I can't go back to because it became such a storage hog. Activision really needs to move to a new engine. Some people may not realize that this game uses a HEAVILY modified engine that came out in '99. This engine could buy beer at this point....
I haven't bought a BF or CoD since Battlefield 4. And even then I got that a year after release on sale. They're all the same to me. An arsenal of weapons used to go around and shoot other people. I really get bored just watching footage of these new first person shooters...
I definitely feel what you’re saying, for me the last big FPS I actually really enjoyed and played regularly was Battlefield 1, anything past black ops 2 was where I brought cod and played for a week and never picked it up again
1:54 I'm still salty with them changeing a NZ war hero’s nationality to Australian, riggs is based on a New Zealander but made him from Australia, when all the other 3 are based on people from the same country as there characters, you know how cool it would of been to have an New Zealander for once in a big game like COD, what sad guys
I was pretty optimistic and thought the campaign looked really cool at the beginning. I typically enjoy COD campaigns. After watching IGN and jackfrags gameplay, I was disappointed. Maybe I expected it to be a bigger better realistic version of Sledgehammer's previous campaign but, I did not vibe with the look of it. The goofy elite team story just did not look like my thing.
cold war could have easily been milked out for another year with more maps, more weapons. but I enjoy the new one, it's a bit more tactical because of the bigger maps and I think that is a good thing
This literally is the most fun multiplayer I have played since Black Ops 2, the campaign makes it to the top 6 all time for me (COD4, MW2, Cold War, WAW, BO1 and Vanguard)
Giving it a miss. I want to see how well anti-cheat actually works and not a fan of WW2 COD’s anymore. Zombies is lacking atm but not surprised when 3arc has been pulled here there and everywhere since start of BOCW. After-all it was meant to be a Raven & SHG not 3arc. Then they get ripped onto Zombies for Vandguard!!! COD desperately needs a year off but Activi$ion won’t allow it.
Then you will be waiting a while CoD games never have a deep sale. Look for Call of Duty games in Steam and they are all full price. 10 bucks off is probably the best deal you're going to get and I'm not paying $49.99 for a CoD game, maybe $5 since I'm probably just play the campaign and be done with it.
More like "never purchase, just wait till they hand it out free". Only reason I played WWII & MW2 Remastered is cause they were given to me, like hell I'm paying for those. MW19 & BO2 are the last CoDs I bought with my own money.
Honestly just has that *Been there, done that* like we did in the earlier 2000's with the oversaturation of WW2 shooters. I'll save my money for BF 2042 and return to cod when MW II comes out
@@WizzWins always hearing those kind of comments from people like u , and yet here i am been playing battlefield since BF 1942, sunk 2k+ hours in all of them, there were better ones and not so great ones but it is still a franchise that i would always put ahead of CoD in every aspect. And I was also a big fan of cod up until MW and then it just went downhill to the point I'd call it a fucking piece of trash nowadays. Spot on review Jake, multiplayer is fun as expected, cool new maps that look great, feels good to play. But the zombies is very disappointing indeed. I loved zombies outbreak and played it a lot, and was looking forward to zombies with a more modern warfare game mechanics feel. It is too easy, repetitive, killing the zombies is unsatisfying, no headshot squirt of blood. You can't turn off the damage numbers which sucks, the screen is overall way too busy in a bad way . And the character quips are so frequent it quickly becomes really annoying and breaks immersion. It just doesn't feel good to play.
That's like the multiplayer announcer to me. It irritates me that: Some attachments aren't usable in zombies No custom mods Weapons having wrong ammo 30-06 (a 30 caliber round, mind you) being listed as 12.7mm, which is 50 cal An excessive amount of sights for filler Zombies camos being rng based This game has issues it shouldn't, and someone didn't do their research. Why the heck can I have a 13mm round without a barrel and chamber swap on my mg42? Things like that... Yes, it's CoD... But c'mon
@@shadowblade9767 yeah, i forgot to mention no custom mods, what the hell? and there are a few things missing in the settings for example the open mic threshold setting and for PS5 I couldn't find the ADS affected/independant setting
I already burned through the campaign and I really enjoyed it. Going to dive into multiplayer next. Never have been a fan of zombies so I couldn't care less there.
Now you see, that campaign story idea sounds SO good. 5 different characters from 5 different parts in the war, coming together to create a unique group to fight. It sounds like it would make for an amazing campaign. But then knowing COD they make the campaign last 4 hours and focus everything in multiplayer. Why cant they just have 1 good campaign game? One that lasts long. One that isnt just move forward to progress. One that isnt just shoot shoot shoot. Give my action adventure COD instead of the same shooter every year.
Man, I wish they made a strictly campaign cod game. An action adventure fps. A long and interesting story with refreshing gameplay. It’s never gonna happen since they know multiplayer is their money anchor and apparently keeps players around longer than an offline game would.
Advanced Warfare 2 is what we need. Something to allow them to be creative and innovative. I loved the fast movement, unique guns, interactive maps, it was all fantastic.
That would be great but then again the futuristic CODs was always the worst received amongst the community even tho this was when I felt like it was the most creative from the developers. I hope it does see a release soon now that we had 3 years of classic COD
I was a huge fan of MW remastered (2019) and WW2 (2017), so mixing both was the perfect result for me and they nailed it. Still haven't tested solo mode and i never really get into zombie mode, but multiplayer is kicking and solo looks really great, i will definitely give it a try. Think i'm gonna stick with this COD for a long time !
It’s nothing special or groundbreaking but the multiplayer feels great for me. It feels almost like playing the OG black ops mixed with MW 2019. I get why some might be pissed about that but it’s perfect for what I want
This is what I was looking for. MW 2019 multiplayer is my drug. CW was a dud for me. Guess I like the way IW makes their games, which is weird since Treyarch helped with Vanguard.
@@axela4606 zombies is very, very close to the Cold War zombies but a little more limited. So if you liked the CWZ you will probably have fun (I have fun with it). I think you’ll have a great time

People are really over looking the multiplayer. It launched with 20 maps, the maps overall have very good design aren't campy, and the game engine is incredible which allows for very satisfying gameplay. I reckon it's better than modern warfare. 2019.

@@hyp3r-systems838 I mean, Halo: Infinite my guy. Looks better than any new FPS on the market right now, certainly a better option than any of its competition.
I had a friend say “why don’t you like it? It plays just like MW2019 and feels like it”. Isn’t that the problem? I didn’t buy a new game to just play the same game I already have. Cool it’s ww2 but if it’s the same game with a different look it shouldn’t cost $60-$90. If anything it feels like a dlc for MW2019. It really sucks that Call of Duty is in the state it’s in as well as Activision. I miss getting excited for a new release of cod and it’s starting to just feel fatigued.
MW2019 was fantastic tho and it really is a matter of don't fix what's not broken. I get what you're saying but the controls are so tight and polished that it's all perfectly well done! You shouldn't have to pay another 60-90 bucks yeah but at least it's well made and it's a shooter taking place in a realistic world, there's only so far where you can take it as it had "realistic" limits.

Just a few ideas but extremely better than the generic stuff.
WW2 2017 campaign was way better, I found most of the characters in Vanguard unlikeable. However, I am really enjoying the multiplayer and the fast-paced action. The maps are really solid in design.
I literally only liked lucas, but i still find the ENTRE concept of the MW engine as boring as hell, WW2 was good as it was boots on the ground, no exo sliding, no exo sprint that got renamed. Just basic natural movement.
I just don’t get why people are so mad about Vanguard! I’ve played the game and I love it personally. It’s got great graphics, great campaign, great engine, and great mechanics! People are either being very spoiled or very rude! Everyone is saying “it’s so bad” or “horrible game”. Like REALLY, Be glad there is even another game! Personally I think that people are being so spoiled and rude. COD Vanguard is a great game and i am very thankful that it was made.
I've been playing COD since 07 It's rough to get into at first but mess with the settings and just go at it an it'll grow on you it's overall a solid game to help pass the time. Still better than ColdWar
honestly, even before watching this review, from my experience - campaign has a great, cinematic story, which is really good imo. Multiplayer may not look as fancy as the one for MW2019, but it surely does play a lot better - not as much camping, great pacing imo - the addition of pace selection is a really nice change :) Only thing that let me down was zombies - I mean, the mechanics seem great, but the lack of a proper round based map is a bit odd to say the least, overall I think the game is much better than BO-CW and multiplayer wise, it is a lot less frustrating than MW
The bleak reality we live in is one where a gem of a game like Titanfall 2 never got a sequel and cod squeezes one out every year And the suits in both Activision Blizzard and EA are very comfortable because the market only has 2 realistic war shooters COD and Battlefield and maybe PUBG
Summed up perfectly! I wish the airplane controls were better on that one mission, but the campaign was fun. As a zombies fan I was only able to play 5 rounds before I quit out if boredom.
Modern Warfare was the last CoD that kinda innovated. This game is just a WW2 reskin and you can see that by the fact that all they changed in the gunsmith is the font! It looks exactly the same!
Lol I loved this game way more than I thought I would. I legit was ready for 30 minutes of play and I’d switch back to another game but I can’t stop playing. The campaign and multiplayer modes are so much and smooth than I expected. Went in ready to shit all over it but I quickly changed my mind.
COD WW2 actually became one of my favorite CODs to date and that's just considering the multiplayer. I would have never experienced it if it wasn't given for free on PS4. I rarely buy or play any of the CODs in the last few years, but If this is anything like Sledge's last entry I'd consider getting it on a deep-deep sale. I like Sledgehammer's flavor for the over cooked dish that is COD. :P
At release cod ww2 was the worst cod ever released, it was atrocious and the game was so lazy made, the original devs put no effort into it and all the players left that dogshit, they ended up getting a new dev team and remade the game which is why it’s kind of underated and not many people came back because of when they last played it but it ended up being decent but still pretty bad because it’s hard to fix the mistakes from the old dev team because of the base game already made, the maps were the worst in a cod game ever, so lazily done and no effort in them so it was hard for that new dev team to do anything with it but they did their best and it was ok, just hard to fix the mistakes from the previous guys

I think everyone just wants another truly great cod game, not another 5 "meh" games before 1 amazing game.
well said dude, I will play halo infinite over these three FPS games
few years ‘off’ not ‘of’?

Bro WAW was the best WW2 based cod game !

They don’t patch it later too trust me
That’s game development of the future.

Campaign: 5/10 - not great, not terrible.
Multiplayer: 8/10 - gameplay looks and feels very smooth and very fun. Maps flow nicely. Servers a bit poor as of launch but will no doubt be fixed soon. And if you want a linear cinematic FPS, I’m sure there are better ones out there that don’t cost you as much
I buy these solely for the new graphics and multiplayer. So do you think this will work for me?
I have been buying CoD only for the single player these last few years. The SP campaign just like in WW2 does not disappoint if you ask me. The multiplayer. Well, the last CoD MP that I enjoyed was in CoD 2 or CoD 4. The fast-paced gameplay that you see in most games now is just not for me. I like the fact that the CoD campaigns are a bit more lineair and have a good story, instead of an open sandbox game where you put in 60+ hours of doing side missions which take up more than than the actual main storyline.

Single player was extremely plain dialogue with the operators and the story is forgettable.
That would be amazing
It’d be better if it was based in reality, and you can just play as a generic soldier, instead of a “war hero”
