Ok Liv -- do I wait for fall or read that Molnar asap?? Im itching to read it based on what you said but also am scared 😂 And yes! She made it sound so good!
this vlog was such a JOY! the art! the food! the way those rolls were STUFFED with avocados! hot girl summer has truly started! and i really need to find my way to miami one of these days. can't wait to read Murdoch with you! i also have Noor Naga's book for summer this year if you want to buddy read that as well! haha i feel like it might be too brainy for one person to break down! would love the helping hand 😭
I also keep stealing random pages and then getting mad at myself in your name 😂 like Im the one that imposed a start date! But im just so so hype for our girl iris!
Your summer lineup looks great. You have so many intriguing books queued to read. I read Trespasses and I nearly died from boredom. I didn't connect with the two main characters and I would have DNF it if I hadn’t buddy-read it. I've added quite a few of the books you mentioned, specifically, The Nursery to my TBR. Happy summer readings love 💕
OMG DONT TELL ME THAT 😂😂😂 I thought you were gonna say you loved it! Dang, Ill have to see how I get on with it! And the Nursery sounds incredible! Def let me know your thoughts if you get around to it! Happy summer reading to you too, sweets! ♥️♥️
I’m so excited for Family Lore! I pre-ordered it back in December so I’m waiting with baited breath ! I’m so glad you went to Books & Books Bal Harbour! It’s my favorite book store to visit when I head down to see family😊
Ahhh so excited for you to get your hands on it! And my gosh, books and books was so dang lovely! I could have truly spent all day in there. Definitely can see why its your fav! Im jealous you get to visit often haha
Read Family Lore…Sorta liked it. I think I just went in with too many expectations and it just didn’t take me where I was expecting to go. Reading Old Enough now and had mixed feelings at the beginning but currently very invested!
Ahhhh the dangers of the 'high-anticipated's! Ive been waiting for this one for a longgggg time too, so im taking this as warning to reposition my bar 😂 The audiobook is working well for me though so far, shes a sweet narrator And Im so happy to hear that about Old Enough! It seems like its generally really well loved!
@@katsfieldnotes I listened to the audiobooks for all her YA books and loved them, but this time I had an e-ARC. Maybe I was missing her voice lol. Finished Old Enough… 4⭐️!
@@26vertigos I could totally see it being a voice thing. She has such a distinctive flow to her storytelling (so funny, im also now realizing ive only ever audiobooked her too 😂)
@@katsfieldnotes Another thing that really killed the reading experience for me was that the Spanish parts were full of spelling errors (I really hope that got fixed on the final copy)…My poor friends had to endure my voice notes stressing out about this 😅😂
Loved this vlog! Books and Books looks so fun-and carrot cake is my fave so I’ll have to check it out when I am in Florida next :) So excited for you to get to Paradise Rot! I need to get to the Late Americans this summer! Also cockfight sounds so interesting I’m adding that to my holds list.
Books and books was definitely a vibe! And honestly such a great bundle of books there. You'll be so close to it, youll have to frequent 😉 And Late Americans was MEATY. Def let me know if you pick it up, ill be happy to discuss. And yessss! Anything cosigned by Herrera and Enriquez is a must! Thank you again for the book and the posty card!
Hiiii! Thank you so much for your sweet sweet words! That makes me so happy to hear ☺️☺️ And Brazil, wow! I want to spend some time in Brazil so bad! So happy you're here, love ♥️♥️
Kat, have you ever read The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão? It's a brazillian novel and I think you might like it. Also, Books & Books is an amazing Bookstore!
Oh I just read the synopsis on goodreads, that sounds so interesting! Im definitely going to keep my eye out for it! Also need to do a better job of reading brazilian lit. Thank you for the recommendation! And it was a dreammmm
Chicago author BK Ray (his _Southside Dreams_ is better than its cheesy cover suggests) loved _Negroland_ because he found it highly relatable; I didn’t find it relatable and didn’t like it.
How do you feel about Annie Ernaux winning the Nobel last year? She is a great author, but I find it disheartening that she is white and French, both identities being overrepresented in the prize as is, so I'm curious what your take is!
Ah, it is a bit complex! I was very happy she won though! Theres been this strange rise in labeling art where women are present as 'women's fiction' which I loathe, and I think the honoring of writing that works to center and elevate experiences that are so commonplace for us is wonderful. I definitely hope they continue to be mindful of their nominations but Ernaux in my opinion is so talented and deserving
This haul!! I’m obsessed!! Excited for your thoughts on the nursery - super claustrophobic. FAMILY LORE EEK! Also Dykette!! And Old Enough!! Omg!!
also want to pick up Negroland bc of pleasuresofthetext!!

@@katsfieldnotes hmm I can definitely see it as a fall but I don’t think the vibes are SUPER strong in any particular seasonal direction haha
