Ren saw Sam on a street corner singing (busking), but he didn’t have a mic or any instruments. Ren set up his equipment so Sam could sing using it.. Ren was accompanying him as he did. Since then they’ve sang together on/off… and Sam is now touring and singing all over the world; he has an amazing voice.. and writes his own music too. Ren has brought forward several amazing singers.. always lifts them up - his favorite saying is that a rising tide lifts all boats. You’ll find many collaborations on REN’s channel, all are worth a watch. And, his music with his band, The Big Push is stellar; 2 of the 3 other performers in the band are now out on their own making music Gorran Kendall and Romain Axisa as well (all have RUclips channels.

if you like regge, you have to watch the ren with his band the big push doing i shot the sherrif/road to zion/hiphop....make sure you pick the one where hes wearing the orange suspenders not the chekered shirt, the vibe is just better.

4:00 - that look on your face says “new achievement unlocked, Sam Tompkins discovered” :) I love seeing that moment when people realise the people Ren collaborates with are also excellent and it unlocks a whole new branch of the rabbit hole you didn’t even know you needed in your life. Sam is FIRE - you will love discovering his solo stuff - but I’d stick to his collabs with Ren first - maybe the “What Went Wrong” couple of songs (the 2nd is just a visual image as I think Covid lock down might have prevented them doing more, and apparently there’s a 3rd track recorded but Sam got signed and I think his label might not want him associated with the “bad boy Ren” now - you’ll understand from the tracks why that might be). There are multiple versions of Blind Eye too - this one, a couple of busking videos, the actual music video with a studio produced version that’s quite different, and then the infamous Angry Car Park Attendant one that often becomes a fav as it takes the song and makes it fun. And, a still from the angry car park attendant inspired a fan to create a painting of Ren and Sam that Ren said is one of his prized possessions in an interview - and the painting shows up in the background of “Losing it” in his bedroom wall, but also in at least one busking video when I think the fan is in the crowd holding it before giving it to Ren. When you’ve watched all his stuff so many times, it’s fun finding all these little connections between tracks either in the places, the things or the lyrics.
Oh if you want to see Ren having fun practicing his speed rapping, “Ren - Rap God Instagram clip”which has been uploaded by someone to RUclips is epic. His simple joy from pushing himself to his limits literally rapping tongue twisters is so fun.
And yeah, 13:00 I agree with you that sometimes, some things fans say to reactors or each other, is not in the “spirit of Ren” - which sounds more like a religion that I am comfortable with 😂

If you're just going fire these reactions out, they loose meaning. Ren is Ren. You take him as you find him... Ppl can "tell" you, or you can take your time to take in the genuine genre bender that is Ren. Pumping them out, doesn't mean you appreciate it. Do Ren because you want to, not because the fans "tell you"
I don’t do anything I don’t want to I just like interacting and responding to viewers. I’m not pumping them out I usually do 2-3 reactions a day and it’s Ren week. I want to react to more but I have to regulate myself to not keep doing other videos. I don’t see the problem.🐿️
I, for one am enjoying these reviews. I found Ren because of a review Groovy did and am finding all kinds of new artists and songs through these reviews. There is nothing wrong with how he is putting them out, because if he was trying to push through he would do all the songs in a couple of days or whatnot. Let everyone enjoy them how they choose to enjoy them, and obviously he is taking time to listen to the lyrics after the reviews because he said he is going through and listening to them several times after the initial reaction. Someone who is just pushing out reviews for the sake of pushing them out doesnt do that. Keep doing what your doing Groovy.

Sam hadn’t signed with a label til shortly after this video came out. (Island Records) Then he switched to Warner last year.
