I have several Tootals in my collection, in both the Vintage and Silk. THE Daddy amongst the scarf world. Though I can’t wear them as often as I would like in 30+ temps lads 😎 That prize one is a thing of beauty….and I’m happy to pay the postage down under 😉 Huzzah.
Nice bit of history there chaps. I've got my dad's 1960s 'Radley by Tootal' - dark red paisley 'Tricel' one side, red wool the other. Too thick to tie so you wear it round yer neck & cross ways under the coat. Love it!
Who wouldn't love to win this amazing Tootal scarf , especially us Jam / Weller fans , seeing this scarf takes me right back to the first time I saw Paul wearing it in the Going Underground 1980 video Good luck everyone 🤞🤞🤞
Had my total scarf for over thirty years, it's been on my travels to Italy many times, going to Blues gigs out there and it's astonishing how many people comment on it and say how stylish it looks.. 😊
Another corking episode. Yes Grandad hand me down was my first Tootal..too! To this day I wear one when the situation or indeed weather condition presents itself. Keep at it fellas!
I'm like many others. Had a couple of Tootles passed down by the old man when I started declaring myself as a mod around Christmas 1980. I then picked up another one in a shop in Walthamstow Market. Still have them, and when dad passed away, I got them all out and had them repaired and pressed, etc. And they'll get passed down again to my son now.
Great episode fellas. Sadly I had my Tootal scarf lifted from a pub several Christmases ago. Loved it when I had it. I also like to wear a long scarf the traditional way, but have to do so before the missus grabs me and enforces the Mancini way. Keep up the great work! Rob Q
Lovely, I actually bought my first Tootal (could of been a knock off I can't remember) based entirely on that Jam video. Me being me I had to get a different colour to Mr Weller, Blue paisley, wore it to death. If I find a picture of it I'll post it somewhere on the webasphere. Love these fab vignettes you are making by the way.
Enjoyed the episode just like the other but do love a Tootal scarves and have few in the collection which might be of interest to the gents, such as some special editions and more traditional ones like the polka dot in which you cannot go wrong with. With a modernist outlook look the black and white square silk one but also have some diifferent brands like classic Alex Mcqueen and Paul Smith signature stripe but always go back to the Tootals and pick a few different ones every season in particular the Mod target or for the 225yr anniversary the Lancashire rose one! So glad you done this channel since followed Mr Webster from the early C4 and R5 days and Mr Baxter( Mumper) from the socials and probably a influencer before it became a thing and enjoyed the pictures from the get together with Mr Weller ( maybe the special judge) and Mr Freeman and the rest of his friends like Mr Elms who I remember from the Arena Magazine days. Shame couldn't upload the photos of my Tootal scarves but keep up the good work gents! And hope I am in with a chance to win the scarf.🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
Tootal scarves ! Can honestly say I've carted them around from house to house for over 40 years. Following the Quadrophenia days in 1979 days aged 17, I found my first Tootal in a charity shop, which smelt like an 80 year olds wardrobe, in which he kept his old soiled pants from at least the 1930s. Remember the old charity shops? With their piles of rank clothes and various life forms that were happy to come with you, and start making a meal of your blood. Amazingly full of actual sixties clothes and plenty Tootals. Clutching my 25p purchase ready to be worn ( without a wash ) at the next Mod nite at the Mermaid on Paignton seafront. ( Life and clothes in Devonshire were simpler than for the more sophisticated London Boys of the time! ) It was worn on every nite out and on the early rallies to Bournemouth and Isle of Wight in 1980/81 where it failed to save me from the local big b'stad black spider community making a home in my my Ben Sherman. Only to be discovered crawling out of my shirt & up my neck at home, after the long slow ride home ( Lambie LI 150 ) Although to be fair, I had slept in a deck chair at the local rally carpark after the nite out at the. I did write to Tootal to complain about its lack of effectiveness in a suited survival situation, sadly I never got a response. Still it didn't spoil my relationship with my Tootal. And yes, I still have it and yes I still wear it and quite a few others. So there you go now 62, a simple life lived accompanied by something as mundane as a dark green paisley with its marroon backing scarf. Who'd of thought it, after all them years, that a slightly holed piece of cloth could have been a life long friend.
@@punksoulbrother1 did you go in 79 - 82 ish? got a few photos still if anyones interested. I went in ( Hydes now I think ) when I did the Torbay Mod Squad Reunion 12 years or so ago, to see if they they would host it - as I walked in THE CASCADES "Rhythm Of The Rain" played on the radio someone had on - it was enough to bring a grown man to tears,,,,, spooky true story
@ no mate I was a mini 8 year old Mod in ‘79 ‘80 going to Sounds and buying Madness, Specials and Secret Affair records. I did go to many Vinyl Avengers nights tho over the years.
Another great episode, fellas. I wear my (gold with blue paisley) Tootal folded style with a camel crombi and brown herring bone baker boy. A classic look that always catches the eye, I think
My Tootal story... I always wore mine to the pub and after a few beers too many it'd start talking to me: "No more beers" it would say or "Get on the lemonade" or "Isn't it about time you had a coffee and sorted your head out?" Clearly having a talking scarf that only I could hear got me a bit paranoid, as I didn't fancy fancy chatting to it in the pub in front of my mates as they'd slaughter me. One day I was sat indoors having a few glasses of wine on my own and thought I could do with a bit of company as I was lonely, so I bunged my Tootal on. Nothing happened at first, but then after a couple more glasses it piped up: "You not had enough now?" it asked and when I didn't respond it added "Really Andy, that's enough, get the kettle on!" "What is it with you and my drinking" I asked "why are you always trying to stop me?" "Because I'm jealous that I can't join in" it replied. "But you can't drink soft drinks either can you?" I asked? "Yeah soft drinks are fine" my scarf informed me "but I can't drink alcohol as I'm tee-Tootal."
Loving these little short vids. Have two original early 70's Tootals ones i got in a vintage market in Bristol in the early 80's and one given to me by my Dad....and a couple of really lovely Nicholson Walcot scarves one made for me...things of beauty. There is only one way i.think to wear a scarf and thats the up and over way. The way I've seen PW wear his over the years. I own a few college Ivy League ones.... congratulations on a great idea. P.S cant you afford two real glasses!...😂...Bax & Mark webster....
Great episode lads. Do either of you know what dessert boots were worn by Steve McQeen in Bullett ? Were they Sanders Chukkas or Hutton Playboys ? I lay awake at night thinking about these things 😂.. I have a pair of Sanders which are expensive but superb..Tim Doran
History of tootal scarfs is immense, and you can trust their quality and timeless look.
I have a Knightsbridge silk scarf, but this lovely Tootal scarf will go down a treat with my newly made Graham Browne worsted jacket and waistcoat.
Would go nicely with my charity shop collection. They look great on girls too! (Levi’s and vintage suede jacket). Cool, clean and hard 😉

Just came across this channel, what a cool shop! Nothing smarter then a quality paisley scarf!
Great video gents! I had no idea Tootal had been around since 1799. The new scarf you’ve shown us looks ace.
NIce one Bax, love a Tootal scarf. Used to have a red paisley one back in the 70s. No idea what happened to it, it sure needs a replacement.
This would be a great Christmas Prezzie.
I absolutely love a tootal and was gutted when my favourite one was lost on a night out recently 😢 keep up the good work fellas!
Love a Tootal, goes well with a Tonic 3 button or just as well with Levi denim trucker or my favourite sheepskin
Always a pleasure to hear you both speak about fashion

Singularly the most essential item in a gentleman’s wardrobe ! Long live Tootal and bringing back such an iconic scarf !
Great podcast and really enjoying it. I’m popping up to the smoke today for a couple of days so hopefully will get some clobber shopping done.
I love Tootal scarves - my blue and white paisley goes with everything.

a proper gent always wears a tootal carries a hanky and wears a good cologne
Maybe I can win one to replace the Tootal blue/burgundy polka dots one that went overboard on the Newhaven Dieppe ferry last year. I looked for it...
Loving these podcasts Fella's. I asked John a few times how he ties his Tootal. Definitely giving nothing away. Ewen
A little tip Ewen, think backwards....
