I think my trick of braiding hair while wet or taking a trouser sock and twisting wet/damp hair around it are much easier and create better waves. That said I have done away with my flat iron about three years ago and my hair is happier for it.
Try braiding your hair while it's still wet or take trouser socks(any long thin socks will do) and wrap your hair around them. Better explanation of trouser sock: Start w/ wet or damp hair, then take one section of hair and split that section in two. Place the sock in the middle of those two sections and secure in place with any hair clip. Then start wrapping/twisting hair around the sock one side of hair then the next and secure at the bottom Once done with the first section continue to the next section of hair. You can any remove hair clips securing the socks when done. They are not required to stay in hair as they only secure the sock while your wrapping the hair around it.

Life's a potato it’s called an opinion sweet heart. If you don’t like it stay off the internet. For a site that’s promoting products, posting tips, and wanting to make money off of good hair styles, this was bad. She did all that heat damage just to look like she wore her hair in a braid 2 days before.
