In my experience for my father Govt Doctor gave only Chemical combination they required so i bought from generic which was at 60% less than Branded Medicine but while buying generic you need to lookup for Manufacturing company because when checked few manufacturing company in generic they dont have all certification for Manufacturing. The doctor always types the molecular name, and it is up to the pharmacy to fill on any brand, also the US works on health insurance, and as long as the insurance accepts the price, the pharmacy will have no issues giving medicine. Also, the insurance companies recommend 100% generic medicine in case it is not available will go for the brand, and insurance companies pay 80% and the patient pays 20% of the medicine cost and also as per the Insurance plan.
While purchasing the generic medicines you have to check 1 the manufacturing company capability to manufacture the particular medicine with authorised authority. 2 molecular with same percentage.. 3All moleculars are available .as with branded

Simply getting some antibiotics and Pain killers like paracetamol used and getting for insane or time being Pain relief.. but not a permanent solution.. that's temporary option.. doctor's are not a warlock or illusionist or conjurer to just seen and find your internal body parts affected.. in all foreign countries they ask to do all this diagnostic report and then only will start there treatment.. until they prescribed some temporary medicine for sustain there pain or fever.. Just all generics are not same in my experience , quality fail in 80 percent generics , Doctor explains his company is best with quality... Many small generic manufacturing company uses expired raw materials, ... And uses third grade failed raw materials even.... Even after producing 5 or 10 lakhs tablets of specified drug.. If quality fails company has to throw everything away... But not many generic company do that..its very difficult to streamline or make sure of quality of all generic .And no one cares about quality of generics. They say money= quality by distributors. There is lot of difference in quality between generic media and branded medicine. There are lot of pharma companies in India where they don't even considered about regulations and Compliance . Even if the drug quality gets fail also , they will move those stocks in market.But branded company who charges more will follow all the regulations and come out with best quality. There are lots of Pharma companies who do the business like cottage industry. And our drug inspector who audits / inspects these low grades pharma company will get the bribe and don't bother about it .

Majority of the prescribed medicines are available in generic and they are trying to add more new medicines day by day ... Saves you more than 60 - 70% on your bills, which is a huge money ... I would strongly suggest to go for it..

In Generic medicine the equivalent table of the branded medicine will be helpful. There are corrupted pharmacy shops who don't buy from proper manufacturers. I had a bad experience. Government can provide medicines in their brand.
My experience doctor said me to ask for Pfizer brand other wise pharmacy substitute with local brands.Also multinational brand and local brand had price difference for same molecule same strength .Insurance companies looks in to the medicine price value for claim approvals, not the medicine the patients requires.

Just all generics are not same in my experience , quality fail in 80 percent generics , Doctor explains his company is best with quality... Many small generic manufacturing company uses expired raw materials, ... And uses third grade failed raw materials even.... Even after producing 5 or 10 lakhs tablets of specified drug.. If quality fails company has to throw everything away... But not many generic company do that..its very difficult to streamline or make sure of quality of all generic .And no one cares about quality of generics. They say money= quality by distributors. There is lot of difference in quality between generic media and branded medicine. There are lot of pharma companies in India where they don't even considered about regulations and Compliance . Even if the drug quality gets fail also , they will move those stocks in market.But branded company who charges more will follow all the regulations and come out with best quality. There are lots of Pharma companies who do the business like cottage industry. And our drug inspector who audits / inspects these low grades pharma company will get the bribe and don't bother about it .

Trust me It's purely your mindset that matters... My mom has been having generic medicine from Pradhan Mantri's Jan Aushadhi since more than 4 yrs... her health is good so far and had no issues... Majority of the prescribed medicines are available in generic and they are trying to add more new medicines day by day ... Saves you more than 60 - 70% on your bills, which is a huge money ...
