- If you drive a modern diesel truck, you've probably heard of the EGR system. But, what is it actually doing to your engine?

To me it makes perfect reason to buy an OBS Powerstroke or 90's Cummins and rebuild it. It would cost less than a new truck too.
🤘🤘🤘
Great news, just got my first diesel truck F350 SRW 6.7HO and will be keeping it a while. Having the reliability of an older diesel truck would be great.
We appreciate that, thank you!
11-16 super duty egr cooler cores the grid clogs with soot, and the occasional valve failure, on the 17-19 trucks they made the egr cooler core bigger from the factory but I’ve seen high idle trucks clog the upper/lower intakes with carbon and cause codes

I hope the 24 6.7 powerstroke kit comes out soon
We will be posting updates as soon as possible!
No, 2022 first!!!😂

The thing that makes the most soot I've seen is altitude. You have to keep your foot out of it until you're on boost in the mountains.

I have the filter on my 24 duramax, how does the filter self clean? Wouldnt everything end up in the engine when it was self cleaning?
Great question, and the filter will clean itself as the engine temp warms up. Once the EGT's are about 600 degree the particulate trapped in the filter will burn out, leaving the engine cleaner.
Thanks, super easy install. Took maybe 40 minutes
@@nicklasalle1889 That's awesome, and we're glad to hear everything went smooth!
@@peterl6356 no, they answered the question. I actually have oil analysis prior to installing the filter and after installing. Significant difference!

doesn't the 6.4 have a little filter or catalytic converter in the pipe going to the egr? I swear I have seen that before. I think it was the 6.4
Great question, and we would need to look more into that to know for sure!
Where does this filter go in the whole path on a 2020 6.7 Cummins H/O?
Also, when does y’alls filter need changed in a stock application.
Great questions, and these are currently in the testing stages right now so the exact fitment on the Cummins hasn't been confirmed yet.
We also expect to service the filters every 100k miles, so they wont need replaced just cleaned.
Just curiosity; what would happen if you connect the EGR downstream of the DPF and filter that instead?
Great question, and the reason we have this in the place we do is to better filter the soot before it passes through the engine, helping reduce contamination within the motor, and gumming up the EGR components as well.
@@FASSEGRSolutions 50 state legal?
@@Upsidedownfoodpyramid Absolutely!
Will you be making kits for 2011-2016 6.7?
Sure thing! They are on our list, but we don't have a good eta just yet!
Is this legal?
Yes this is 50-state legal.
