  • With not much ventilation, and a small shop, we were starting to feel the need for air filtration devices. So, the guys from Aeroex came to the shop last week, and installed "Mist Collectors" to filter the air coming out of our machines. This makes the air in the shop SO much cleaner, and it'll help keep us healthy too. Solid purchase.

    Glad you went with the Aeroex units. They are rock solid and really do last forever. So much better than the electronic / electric units.

    It never even crossed my mind the atomized coolant may be a health risk. Glad you guys thought of it and found a way of mitigating it. Made a nice video.

    I've been following your channel since the early days and have very much enjoyed watching your amazing progress. I love the videos and Erin is doing a great job of shooting and editing them but PLEASE and I repeat PLEASE do away with the annoying music!

    I've done filtration for the cellars of a small castle in UK recently (ventilation and filtration in and out, specifically) and having spent quite a bit of time researching the market and various derivatives to decide on what to go, i can say, those guys are the cat's meow. Someone put some serious thought in to catching just about anything that might come at that filter. Impressed.

    I liked how this video was a little bit more technical than the previous ones, because I watch your videos for the information that's in them and not just selfies and positive talk.
    But please do something about this loud and unnecessary music, I found it almost impossible to watch.
    This may sound rude, but I write this because I care.

    I love the comment from Erin about the guys cleaning. Seemed like a reference to previous commentary on Erin doing all the work prepping her work area/break room. Erin, you're doing great, keep the guys on their toes!

      In the previous episode there were two tracks that weren't such ungodly abominations. It would be a good idea to decide on having a set of tracks (max 3) and use only them, having to come up with something new for each episode will inevitably result in some questionable choices, like in this video. Also, it would give each video a similar tone.

      I also don't like the music. It's too loud and distracting from the actual topic. I liked the "silent" videos better without music, just background machine noise and the voice of the people in the foreground.

    Oh how I wish my company cared enough about our health to install these, It gets brutal sometimes. Just this alone is making me think of moving on. Breath in nasty mist for over 15 years and see what happens. Very cool you are thinking about your's and your workers health. it says a lot about you. :-)

    A big thing on the mill would be to cut down on the misting during milling. Those fish eyes that hit the milling chucks tend to make a ton of mist.

      I've wondered why the coolant is run at such a high pressure. Seems like going old school and just soaking the area with low pressure coolant would help with the mist.

    Do any of you actually listen to that kind of music? I want to know who's responsible for this assault! I'm sorta joking, but sorta not joking at the same time. Like seriously though people. 🙉☣️🎵

    • @xenonram
      @xenonram 6 лет назад +3

      Anchor Bait In case you didn't know, you can't put music "you would actually listen to" on RUclips videos. (Unless you want to go through a licensing process, which means money.) So creators have to resort to free music. It's filter music, so there isn't an awkward silence throughout that makes it seem like an amateur video. You can't use the speech because it is mostly a montage and would sound all chopped up. See that, you learned something.

    • @anchorbait6662
      @anchorbait6662 6 лет назад +5

      Andrew Delashaw learned something? I learned some things you assume people do and don't know. Also that you think good music is controlled by a single philosophy and all of it is patrolled by the creators and lawyers to limit people from hearing it. I'm sorry, that's just not how it works. Granted you can't copy and paste the top selling radio tunes onto a video you make without permission from the artist/label. But they don't hold a monopoly on "good music". Musicians want their work to reach an audience and be heard. Lots of sites and groups dedicated to content creators who are looking for that exact thing to bring to their videos. And from your comment I'm not sure you know this, but when you cut and edit a video you have complete controll of the transitions and levels of audio that accompany the clips. Have a wonderful day. ⚓

    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 6 лет назад +1

      "Awkward silence" or the perception of it, is the problem. Why do people think you need constant noise/music? Silence is OK, although you still have the shop noises when they are not talking. Heck, machining sounds over a sped up clip would beat the music that many use, but silence is fine, or a bit of narration and comments once in a while to break up the silence would be good. Even if the narration was just about their shop in general or what is new, it would add more good content.

    • @anchorbait6662
      @anchorbait6662 6 лет назад

      CGT80 I completely agree. I think the silence and ambient noise helps tell a story... It's not like it's a frigging music video, or rather, it shouldn't be.

    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 6 лет назад +1

      A good example of great videos is "Edge Precision." He runs a big 5 axis machine and shows many details of the work and even the CAM process. During his high speed clips, he does some narration, but he talks at a slower, relaxed pace. He will cover what works, what didn't work, what his prep was, and other little details you might not realize were involved. I don't recall any of his videos having music, just machine sounds in the background. The difference, is he isn't trying to be a youtube star and he isn't selling a product. He actually works only as a sub contractor, for and inside the huge shop that he started and sold off. His videos are such a pleasure to watch. So far, John's videos are also very good, but in my opinion they could be even better with small changes.

    Erin
    When you pan around, try to slow down. It's too fast, it's blurry we don't see anything.
    When you stuck your camera in side the machine, it's dark. Try and find a lens ring light or flashlight, or something when you do that.
    Stop with the horrible music. We like the silence and the people talking.

    The metal filters should last forever... Is it stainless?... No, galvi... So you mean it'll last a few years?

    • @istvanmeissler2238
      @istvanmeissler2238 6 лет назад +1

      Depending on the quality of the galvanizing, and the corrosiveness of the chemicals exposed to the metal, the metal could last (and I am guessing that in this particular situation it will) many many years, even decades. Obviously in manufacturing "forever" is a relative term.
