In a world where so many artists are upset/anxious/angry about Ai. It’s extremely cool to see a show that still cares SO MUCH about animation. The ART of animation to tell a story. That doesn’t cut corners. Doing an AMAZING job. And showing exactly why human creativity will always be valuable.
I know what you mean, really great to see. I actually think as AI gets more popular there will be an increased demand for “human authentic creation” , fingers crossed 🤞🏻
@@FrameOfMindBros I'd wager that'll only be true for a very limited time. AI creations are still pretty new and can already do very impressive things. In 3 - 5 years human (digital) artists might very well become 99% obsolete. The remaining 1% will have to waste their potential providing base structure and / or finishing touches for AI work because it will be a lot cheaper for companies to work like that...
What makes the relationships so great in Arcane is the way they fight and diverge. It's realistic. In the LoL canon, Vi and Jinx and Jayce and Viktor _hate_ each other. But the reason they hate each other is because they were so close and the fallouts are happening little by little, death by 1000 cuts. Jinx does something horrible but Vi still tries to save her because they're sisters. But we know eventually they'll be that one action that leaves irreparable damage and we see that with the introduction of Cait into Vi's life and we are starting to see that with Jayce and Viktor's ideology becoming completely the opposite of each other.
With Vi and Jinx, I really hope they do what is good for the story rather than force the story to conform to the game. Considering how incredibly popular Arcane is, I wouldn't be surprised if the game eventually conforms to the show
@@samfisher6606 They actually did start with the end. They have known Vi & Jinx's final scene since the start. My point is I don't want the ending to feel artificial b/c they had to end them in a certain place to satisfy random lore from a video game. If the story naturally leads to them hating each other again, then that's fine. If it's naturally a story of forgiveness and reconciliation, then screw the video game and give me that.
I don’t like that they declared this “canon”. Because that suggests it needs to lead to the game, which quite frankly, I don’t want it to. They’ve already set up this reconciliation with each other, and even if they’re kumbaya by the end of it, making them HATE EACH OTHER… just doesn’t make sense. Cause then what happened to all that character growth we just saw?? I’d rather Arcane do its own thing, especially it wasn’t originally supposed to be canon, and I think that’s the way it should be
On the scene of Jinx fighting the boxing manchine and still not being able to beat Vi's high score from the past, the thing that immediatelly came to my mind and I imagine went thought her head was Mylo saying to Vi "You were twice as strong with half the age" when talking about her.
Tbh jinx not like to much older then Vi's ages in the first act . Most people doesnt get that i think . She is not a grown women . So he cant beat vi s last higy score but is that really showing someting ?
Finally someone said it! I don’t know why people don’t understand that in the right circumstances even those who have no predisposition can have mental illness if they have suffered enough. It’s like people who say all those who commit suicide have mental illness and thus was inevitable. There are unliveable circumstances that would push the most mentally sound person to such an extreme. Like you said everyone has these mental fault lines. People don’t realize that we ALL have the potential for mental illness in the right circumstances.
One of my favorite things to tell clients to help facilitate curiosity and non-judgment is that if you knew everything about a person's history, everything they feel and do in the present would make perfect sense. Lucky for us we get to see that with these characters 💙
I think part of it is a comfort thing, a way to tell yourself “well, *I’d* NEVER xyz because *I’m* not evil or sick.” It’s much easier to label people as inherently evil or a “sociopath/narcissist” when they do something horrible, but the fact is that life isn’t that simple. Even “normal” people can have sociopathic/narcissistic traits, act cruel and/or do horrible things. I can hope I would be able to stay empathetic and make the “right” decision in the face of extreme adversity and/or pain, but I’ve thankfully never been pushed to a point to complete break.
It may be my background and jobs that are aimed at helping people but I think everyone has some mental illness. Everyone. It’s a matter of how much someone may bury it or cover it or try to get through their days. I have ptsd and many people have said they’d never know and that’s somewhat how I cope and push through. As Jung said-I am what I choose to be, not what was done to me. But Jinx is my favorite and I’m very glad she breaks the cycle and leaves.
i don't understand why they call Jinx to have mental illness. yes, she has BPD, but BPD is not a mental illness according to the current diagnostics criteria.
@@stupidpol I actually don’t agree she has BPD, but I do want to state that BPD is _absolutely_ a mental illness, by all criteria. It is a brutal, massively misunderstood one. Edit- All personality disorders are listed in the DSM-5. ‘Psychiatry. Org’ defines mental illness/disorders as “health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses can be associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities.” BPD, APD, NPD and multiple other personality disorders- Clusters A, B & C- are genuine mental health illnesses/disorders. And even though I don’t think Jinx necessarily has BPD, she very clearly suffers from PTSD. She is mentally unwell due to some type of mental health problem, but she was recovering and, if she’s ever included in the story again, hopefully will continue doing so where ever she is now.
About Jinx killing the crow: yeah, it is, as a matter of fact animal cruelty but I think the reason many people are willing to overlook that is because of what her killing a CROW specifically symbolises. Crows in the show represent Jinx herself. They are always there when something bad happens around her and you can even see during her fight against Ekko, Ekko is represented by a firelight and Jinx is represented by a crow. Crows in our world are often called a bad omen, bringing bad luck, so in a way, crows are also jinxes. And by extension, Jinx killing the crow represents her own self-hatred.
I think that's a really good analysis. Yeah it requires writing a character a very particular way for us to overlook something so instinctive within ourselves. The writers did an amazing job of making Jinx a horrible villain who we also love and relate to and want redemption for.
A crow is an omen of death rather than of bad luck, which leans into the theming of Jinx killing everyone/everything close to her, whether it's intentional or not.
@@gurth-quake1627 It actually both. Crows symbolise a bunch of things, bad luck and death are the most commonly known, but in some cultures they also symbolise change/transformation.
the crows or possibly ravens could be (and this is a bit of a longshot but not impossible) noxus spys, either sent by swain or more likely the black rose to spy on what's happening in noxus. If you pay close attention there are a lot of them and knowing the lengths the black rose is willing to go to spy and gather info by controlling people, i think they could be using animals too. I think jinx being smart and also kind of unhinged and paranoid may have noticed them watching her tinkering with hextech and realized something was fishy.
the whole 'powder being better in piltovers academy' talk is so real, especially ocnsidering how ekko and pow-pow were basically the same person as kids (their tragic storyline of ekko being what powder 'could have been') and that ekko ends up becoming heimerdingers apprentice in season 2
in season 1 when looking at one of Jinx's bombs, Jayce even says "whoever built this really knew what they were doing". very tragic, what could have been etc.
47:15 Mylo instilled the idea of Jinx in her mind, Vi started her on the journey of becoming Jinx, Silco completed that journey. That's the way I look at it anyway.
From Jinx perspective yeah. Looking at it from the outside, Vi would still have been with Powder if Silco didn't show up in S1E3 after the explosion. Silco was the reason Powder and Vi was separated in the first place. Vi actually played very little part in creating Jinx.
@@rustygear447thank you! Someone being logical instead of blaming Vi for everything👏👏👏 Girl was literally throw in prison and forgotten for years while being beat up by guards but she still went looking for Powder as soon as she was released.
@@rustygear447 Vi had everything to do with it. Mylo said it, but Vi stuck up for her. She built Powder up, saying "you're ready". It was Vi who broke her, in ways that only the person you look up to most could, telling her she's "not ready" to help rescue Vander, when the stakes mattered. Yet despite all her insecurity, lack of agency, and need of validation from Vi, she went anyway. And then the gentlest most loving person she knew who was always there for her and stuck up for her doea a 180. Vi hits her and very specifically says "because you're a jinx, you hear me? Mylo was right" then leaves. Silco may be the cause for keeping them apart, but he was not responsible for what Vi did or said before walking away of her own volition.
@@evyk.5249 Again, from Jinx's perspective it's true, but not when we consider everything objectively. Vi was very supportive of Powder and stood up for her through all her faults. You blame Vi for that moment when she lost composure for a moment, but failed to consider what broke Vi. In my opinion, Vi demonstrated an extreme amount of compassion and love for Powder that she managed to immediately pull herself back after such a disaster Powder caused. I don't think any of us could be as strong as Vi. It is wrong of Powder to blame Vi at all after what she's done. I know she's young and didn't know better, but so was Vi. One can argue that Powder made Jinx. In fact, after S2 i think Jinx knows in her heart she was to blame for that day, but she just can't accept it. At the end she accepted that she's the problem and have to go away because Vi deserves happiness.
Haha, thank you 🙏 but the more I look at it the more that I realize it's a testament to Arcane's great writing rather than any ability of me to predict. A random mage who plays no greater roll in the story felt weird to me because that's not how Arcane writes characters, so I guess I just trusted the writers had something bigger planned for them 😂
I called it after Viktor went to Zaun after he woke up from his coma. There was a moment when he moved his staff in a circle for just a moment, but that was enough to make me suspicious
I think Jinx having her dead friends talk to her is part of a dramatic irony that a lot of the characters suffer from; Piltover is the city of progress and yet so many characters are trapped in/haunted by the past. Heimerdinger created Piltover and yet he refuses Hextech so vehemently because of an incident from hundreds of years ago. Jinx is one of the smartest characters who does invent some pretty amazing things and she’s quite literally haunted by the people she killed. Vi is trapped in the past and doesn’t want anyone to change, she wants Powder back and in season 2 doesn’t want Caitlyn to change.
There's a lot of subtext in the "he didn't make Jinx, you did" scene leading to many interpretations. I think the writers want to explore Jinx's perspective rather than presenting an absolute statement on her character. She explains how Silco pushes her to be Jinx, to be what they fear. but "he didn't make Jinx, you did". then she tells Vi it's her voice pushing her and keeps her going. She is thanking Vi almost, you are the reason I want to be Jinx, it's not because of Silco, it's you. To Jinx being Jinx is a good thing, Jinx is strong and competent while powder was weak and useless, which of course Vi couldn't understand and think she's being blamed because she took that explanation literally much like most of the audience
It's a great point. Maybe in Jinx's mind it's not Vi saying "you're a jinx", but her saying "what makes you different makes you strong" that keeps pushing her. One of the signals of great writing is when you have these moments where you can take one statement and spiral off into so many ideas and reflections on the story and the characters 👍
the thumbnail is driving me INSANE. I get that it's probably clickbait, but the idea that Vi is the "bad sister" because one really bad interaction permitted circumstance to almost LITERALLY tear them apart is driving me crazy. The expectation that the elder sister should behave perfectly rationally and be accommodating to Jinx's distress when Vi is the one that watched her world fall apart firsthand in there is so frustrating I never even know where to begin.
This is the eldest sibling burden, which is deeply overlooked in general, in the show as well, and a lot by the Arcane community.... People don't realise, it is always about themselves they struggle to see what others are going through.... Edit : so yes, i totally agree
@@pinip_f_werty1382 You’re first sentence doesn’t really make since being the fact that their circumstances are incomparable. Jinx is way older than vi was so obviously she’d be “better” because she knows what its like to be the younger sibling. As for your second sentence why are we ignoring why powder got hit in the first place? She just killed everyone and vi had to witness that first hand despite her telling powder to stay home. That was the consequences of her actions😭
@@jnokyx first of: I don't think any one of the two is the bad or good sister. They both lived through multiple instances of tremendous Trauma at very young ages. Vi slapping Powder is not justifiable, but understandable nonetheless (as is Powders coping Strategy of vanishing into Jinx afterwards). It is easy to judge Vi but I'd like to see anyone keep a level head after what happens to their family in S01E03 - disregarding if it was by Powders hands or not. What you said about incomparable circumstance due to one being older than the other is not true though. Vi pre Time-Skip is around 16 while Jinx post Time Skip is around 18. Those two years of age alone won't account for a vast difference in emotional maturity. Other events do, on both sides. On Jinx' side it is meeting Isha. Isha lets Jinx reconnect with Powder, the side she told herself was dead but resurfaces in their Time together (funnily enough she eventually tells Isha Jinx is dead when she pushes her to take up the revolutionary mantle). Halfway through S02, Jinx suddenly shifts into the Role of the older sister and is able to reconcile Jinx and her being an emotionally vulnerable sister again for the first time. Then, In an interesting Parallel, Powder coming to Vanders Rescue when she was told to stay home in S01 and Jinx staying home when she was told to come to the Zaun Rally in S02, both led to utter clusterf**ks in the end. On the other Hand we have Vi, who in S02 Act 2 has experienced what it feels like to be hit and pushed away by the person she trusted the most in a moment of pure agony. After that she rapidly descends into a spiral of booze, violence and literally masking who she is to not have to face her actual feelings. The song that plays during that particular montage even has the line "Lock me up, I've gone and jinxed it" in it if the emotional parallel wasn't clear enough yet. Their circumstances becoming more and more comparable is how both Vi and Jinx are eventually able to find to one another again because they mirror themselves in each other and understand instead of judge.
@@-siranzalot- I agree with majority of what you said, but you dont seem to really be disproving my point so im a bit confused. The reason why I think their circumstances are incomparable is because in the beginning the show we have already seen the vast majority of the pain and trauma both girls are enduring, and Vi being 15 having to take the role of big sister/leader for THREE people is a lot of weight to carry and IMO she did a pretty good job with what she had.(if only she’d stop rushing to fight people knowing the others would want to follow) Jinx being a younger sibling already has the knowledge of having an older sister and treated isha how she (probably) would have wished Vi treated powder.(for example letting isha go everywhere with her, even in battle, which she learned the hard way why Vi told her to stay home that one time) And I also don’t think a two year age difference ALONE would account for a vast difference in emotional maturity, but it’s definitely a factor ESPECIALLY in Arcane of all shows people change drastically in days. You’re just showing me how they’ve grown similar and understand each other. Their situations in proving which is the better sibling (which I think neither is better) is still incomparable due to the circumstances leading up to them taking on the role parent/big sister.
I disagree about Multiple Personality Disorder. (Its now called DID and isnt a personality disorder) if Jinx has a personality disorder it would be Borderline Personality Disorder. DID is more about dissociation, Borderline Personality focuses on unstable emotions (for super simplicity). Also Powder and Jinx aren't separate personalities. Powder is Jinx. Jinx is Powder. The debate between adopting either names is about living in the past, innocence, and family versus the present, guilt, growing up and moving on, new family, and the value of acceptance. They are framed as separate because Jinx herself sees them as separate parts of herself which leads others to do the same. In season 2 (sort of spoilers) Jinx is finding acceptance in the present and accepting what happened in the past and trying to move on. Which makes the end of Act 2 Season 2 a cliffhanger for Jinx.
Lemme guess. You are not a doctor? Me neither. Because from my non educated experience MPD is just an old term for DID. The identidy of Jinx was literally pushed onto Powder. I don't think thats classic DID. Also Borderline Personality Disorder? Maybe her strong attachement speaks for it, but her emotional outburst are not moodswings. She doesn't go through manic and depressed periods. She is triggered by traumatic events. CPTSD would be way more proper diagnosis from my understanding of the conceps. Her hallucinations might be also caused by that, but I guess thats already full blown schizophrenia. This is just speculation, I am not a medical educated proffessional.
@@malenaalvarez977 Is it BPD with Jinx though? Her mental changes do not get triggered by "very idiodic and simple things", but by severe stress. The Shimmer in her body is activated during flight or fight situations similar to adrenalin. Her hallucinations aren't caused by BPD, but get triggered by guilt. Jinx isn't struggling with identity. She is struggling with attachement, selfworth and guilt. Her Psychosis has nothing to do with BPD. Its obviously due to trauma. She doesn't display symptoms of BPD before and after those traumatic events that shape her so much. In fact her personality and emotional state stays pretty much consistent throughout even with her transformation from Powder into Jinx.
An important thing to remember, especially with C-PTSD and BPD, they are very commonly comorbid with many other disorders, such as schizophrenia and DID. She can have both and shows many symptoms all of them.
Thank you for not blaming any one person for the events. I love how Morally grey every character is. It was really fun to hear your predictions as well. I hope you enjoyed season 2 because im an emotional mess
There isn't one bad sister, we got to understand that vi was also a minor when this happened. That day she lost 2 best friends/brothers and her father and her emotions are going crazy. When you loose someone very close people even adults try to find someone to blame when she realizes powder was the one responsible for the explosion that basically ruined the escape plan and caused so much devastation she lashed out, im not saying it was the right thing to do, but seeing the context of the scene it's understandable why she reacted the way she did. And we all know she didn't abandon powder, after she hit her immense guilt cane over her for what she just did and said, so she removed herself from the situation before she reached more. Unknowingly doing something that would scar powder, thinking she was being abandoned, we all know the reason vi didn't come back is because she was kidnapped and sent to prison.
I actually agree with you 😄 The thumbnail isn't meant to say 1 is objectively good and the other is objectively bad, I think that title can be swapped back and forth between them at different times in their story. They both have good and bad elements of them as characters and in their relationship to each other. Thumbnail was meant to provoke thought rather than to state a fact we think is objectively true
@FrameOfMindBros i understand ive just seen people online saying vi is a bad sister, and how jinx is a better sister in relation to isha, which to me isn't a fair comparison since 1 they are both different people and like a mentioned before vi (in the scene she gets the most hate on aka the slap) is a minor dealing with a lot of stress and loss, vs jinx who is older and the moments we see with isha there is not an equivalent point of stress/loss just wholesome sisterly bonding
@@FrameOfMindBros the "thumbnail was meant to provoke rather than to state a fact which is objectively true" is one of main reasons for unreliable or false information on these platfroms. Came for Arcane, stayed for the entertaining and nuanced discussion. Seeing it from 2 perspectives, one from fresh eyes and one who has already seen the show. Now that Season 2 has fully come out, I'm excited to see your takes on it.
psychosis is usually born out of trauma... i may have been born with something in my genes, but my schizophr3n!a didn't boom into existence until my mind completely broke. my brain opened it felt like. and it was never going to close again. that's what psychosis feels like. i had however, always felt like i was standing at the edge of a cliff, all my life. almost tipping over, but i didn't know what i feared in was tipping over to. until one day it did... one doesn't have to have had schizophr3n!a all their life, that's not how it works... but with enough stress and trauma, your brain can do many things, in order to escape the pain. i believe to my core, and so does the people who diagnosed me, and my therapist, that schizophr3n!a is created out of trauma ...... ( i am spelling it like this, bc when you spell the actual word, youtube sometimes delete your comment) - jinx doesn't have multiple personality disorder... she doesn't BECOME other people, she has them living inside her mind.
All of this. We have DID. This isn't that. I can spiral all on my own, feel guilty, be haunted by my trauma. My alters? Fully seperate from that process. And they can do that on their own too. Even if we get mad at each other or I experience cognitive dissonance because my opinion or behavior is in conflict with them, it is not...like a ghost who is taunting me by saying horrible stuff. It's like a person who I'm on equal footing with. And conflict like that usually results in dissociation. Or a switch. We never see Jinx have internal conflicts where she mentally drifts, she is always Jinx and always Powder all at the same time. There's no separation.
As someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, I find I relate with Jinx and she brings me some comfort. It is the section in which you were discussing the world beating an identity on you and how it causes fractures, mixed with her intense emotions, self destructive tendencies, fear of abandonment, people pleasing tendencies, and erratic haunting thoughts of worth and strength. Feeling defeated and hopeless and utter incapable of doing anything. Everything you do goes wrong and you feel like a burden or curse. That’s how I feel and she makes me feel like, like even in my madness and destruction. I can still find joy in life and I can still find ways to shine. But it hurts. It hurts so much. So watching the show, I had visceral reactions seeing her cause I know her pain. Her delirious repetitive self destructive thoughts and feelings so strong they hurt. I also feel so fractured. So out of touch with reality. So dissociated. So jaded and defeated. I try to combat all worst of me. But I just get more tired. Either way. I am happy to have Jinx. To see someone feel like I do.
don't worry, with years intensity of all that will lessen. i spent my childhood as Powder, and my early 20s as Jinx - but with years, this condition has gradually... waned. it feels so strange to observe, people around tend to feel sadder and more frustrated while ageing, and with me it's the opposite, year after year i feel more joyful and optimistic.
Shocked that you guys have only been doing this less than a year. Really impressive video quality both in the layout, but also the content. Instant subscribe.
1:07:07 I think the more obvious counterpart to Heimerdinger is Viktor. From the story, you can understand Heimerdinger's point of view that changes can be dangerous if we rush it, but on the other side Viktor's health is declining very rapidly. Viktor needs this technology right now, but Heimerdinger is actively preventing Viktor from being saved
Let's see if I can do this without sounding confusing. In regards to the chain reaction you mentioned at around 1:08:00, I would actually argue that it goes even further back. If Jayce and his mom hadn't been saved by magic, he wouldn't have become obsessed with researching it. If he wasn't obsessed with researching it, he wouldn't have gone to Benzo's shop in Zaun to get the parts from Ekko. If he didn't get the parts from Ekko, Ekko never would've followed him. If Ekko never followed him, Ekko wouldn't have been able to tell Vi and the others where he lived for them to go rob him. In my opinion, I feel like the block that tipped the Janga tower was the Mage that save Jayce and his mom when Jayce was a child.
You know what, you're actually right. The mage saving Jayce and his mom is the first thing we get to see as an audience which sets things down the path they end up on. The heist / explosion was the first event which directly involved Vi and Jinx so it felt like the "central starting point" but you're right that it goes back much further than that 😄
@FrameOfMindBros Yay! I'm so glad it made sense! I'm usually not really good at translating long thoughts into text, so I'm glad you understood what I meant. 😊
@@annoyingfandragon Dude, exactly! Because, if Viktor never went back to save Jayce as a kid, his life would've been miserable and he would've continued to make the biggest mistake of his life which was attempting the "final Glorious Evolution" through the Hexcore. Great video! It was really interesting to see your take on Jinx and her narrative from the viewpoint of a mental health professional. I immediately saw her mental health struggle as an overtly cartoonish but still very humaizing portrayal of borderline personality disorder. Not to push back against your take. Just something that hit close to home, and this was the first time I've heard a trained mental health professional talk about her character. The abandonment scene is intensely tragic and raw, with Powder's frantic desperation. It felt almost too real and was almost hard to watch. But amazing voice acting in a show that boasts some of the best voice acting I've ever seen. Keep up the good work! Ya'll rock!
Thanks so much! I'm seriously thinking about making a dedicated video doing a deep dive into Jinx's mental health. Borderline/C-PTSD is absolutely a diagnosis I would want to consider with her, I would be really nice to sit down and explore her experience with the time that it needs/deserves.
This was one of the best Arcane deep dives I've ever seen, and I've seen so many... I went through a huge hyperfixation with this show back when it came out and watched season 1 about 20 times and just about every deep dive RUclips video I could find lol. This was great! And now I'm off to binge more of your content ❤
Much appreciated! 🙏 Super kind of you to say, and thankfully we're growing way faster than expected 🎉 Give us a couple months and I'm super excited for where things will be at 😉
Hey! Small correction / note about the visuals used at 11:11 - I'm 99.9% certain the Tracer animation is hand animated, as is all the animation in overwatch (both in game and cinematics). I believe the motion capture performer in this clip is doing a sort of reverse engineering / cartoony acting kind of exercise (which she is very good at!). I expect a lot of people would have the same reaction as Jordan when hearing there's no motion capture in arcane so I think worth mentioning that if it WERE motion captured, the animators still would have had to have done a LOT of creative work to get the animation looking the way it does! Love what you guys are doing! Keep it up!
Ahhhhhhh, you could be VERY correct on that. Apologies if we managed to choose an example that actually DOESN'T show what we're talking about 😅 Stoked you like the episode! 🙏🙌
@@FrameOfMindBros No worries! I'm glad you guys are putting effort in to actually show examples of what what you're talking about in the first place! If I may be even more annoying... What Curtis is referring to as "rigging" here is actually just "posing" or "animation". Rigging is the process of adding a skeleton and controls to a character that allow the animators to deform and pose them. Much like adding strings to a puppet or the armature inside of a stop motion character. You can see the rig controls around the character in the clip at 11:51. What Curtis describes about animators sitting at their desks and feeling out the motion and performance is 100% accurate and very common for most animated shows. I animate for kids TV where the budget is much much lower, we don't use reference footage much so we will often act stuff out at our desks or make sound effects to get the timings right! So I super appreciate the research that went into this section! Cheers!
Have to say, the writing is absolutely superb. The love for the story is clearly there. I wish I could join the ranks of writing for such a passionate project.
Loved the video! One thing i think you guys missed is that Jinx actually doesnt kill Silco on purpose. She doesn’t choose between him and Vi in that moment. If you look closely when the camera pans to Vi as Silco’s chair turns around, there are bullet holes above Vi’s shoulder and one grazed her arm as well. Jinx did the same thing that she did on the airship-swept her gun in an arc and fired blindly. She could easily have killed Vi as well. She didn’t intend to kill Silco, which explains her reaction to him dying-shock and horror and remorse. That’s why she chooses the Jinx chair, because yet again, she’s killed someone that she loved on accident. Another hit to the crystal with the monkey, if you will, that completely splits her away from Powder snd solidifies her as a Jinx.
I love the point you made about storytelling and asking a question without knowing the answer. I think it's a brilliant concept for writers especially.
Great conversation! Arcane has become literally my favorite piece of any media ever. I know a lot of people are saying S2 isn't as good as S1, which sounds so braindead to me. S2 folds back onto S1, recalling and recontextualizing so much in ways that make both seasons deeper. You're not kidding about parallels and contrast. (It's got layers, like an onion!) Watching them back-to-back, you can see how the pace steadily ramps across all 18 episodes to match the way everything is spiraling out of control. S2 actually hit me harder, because I already had the foundational investment in these characters, and there are scenes which still get me sobbing after a half-dozen rewatches. Arcane rewards you for paying attention. This is not some disposable second screen experience for the terminally online.
This was a pretty good breakdown for a 1st/2nd watch through, unfortunately I've been hyper-fixated on this show for 3 years, watched it dozens of times, and seen a million video essays, so a lot of this I've already heard before or disagree with. Still enjoyed the video though, you guys are great.
We're about 2 years late to the party, so that's understandable 😂 Glad you still enjoyed it, and hopefully our Season 2 breakdown will be soon enough that we get the fresh first take on a lot of stuff 😉
The thing is, Jinx just sort of gaslighted Vi in that tea party. She TOLD Vi that 'you can't accept me as Jinx' but she never gave Vi a CHANCE to do that... and instead drove a hard wedge between them... essentially FORCING Vi to side against her. Vi never has any agency at all, any time she tries to take some and make a better world with it, it's stolen from her, while Jinx has nothing but agency and consistently uses it to destroy.
I think she actually did try to give Vi a chance, in a somewhat mentaly broken way she actually tried to force her to accept jinx. She shows Vi the 2 chairs and tells Vi that if she wants powder back she needs to shoot caitltyn. To me as someone with mental issues its a nondirect way to ask her, because jinx knows what there relationship (she says girlfriend) is and that Vi wouldn't kill caitlyn. However as it goes Vi (understandbly) misunderstands and just say's I can't. to Jinx its a rejection of who she is now.
@@lastthing8173 I mean... 'kill someone perfectly innocent for me or it means you refuse to accept me' is gaslighting... you don't have to KNOW you're gaslighting someone to be doing it. Jinx isn't of sound mind, we UNDERSTAND why she's doing the things she's doing thanks to Arcane being the GOAT of character development, but that doesn't make the tea party any less of a massive gaslighting endeavor... I'm just pointing out that I think Vi doesn't get the sort of sympathy and empathy she deserves. She really has NO CHOICE but to do most of the things she's forced to do throughout the series. She's the sister with Agency in Act 1, and essentially the entire rest of the series she's desperately trying to claw it back so she can effect some kind of beneficial change... and it's constantly CONSTANTLY stripped away from her by characters who glean their own agency to do WRONG by taking hers away.
When Jinx initially saw Vi again, she was happy. It was when Cait showed up that triggered her even more. Their whole childhood was a nightmare because of the very same people Caitlyn represents, so of course, in the eyes of Jinx, she felt betrayed by Vi not only once but twice.
@@wrbk19 well jinx is still old enough to understand miscommunication is a thing and she should let vi speak up. im so sick and tired of people bashing on vi who had to be the older sister at the young age protecting powder and gets locked up for 5 years. Meanwhile Silco is feeding jinx's worst traits and people act like Vi created Jinx. She did not btw. Vi just keeps telling herseft that because she was locked up for 5 years and saw what her sister has become. Blame Silco and Jinx instead of Vi who has no business on her current iteration. She cant go around and blame her sister for everything. God forbid a child makes a mistake and breaks her stoic character for a split second after her own sister kills the entire gang and father figure and gets kidnaped the second she clears up her mind. Jinx is the textbook example of boy/girlfriend who has infinite scenarios playing inside their head to gaslight you. the fact that Jinx actually Vi is a psycho (season 2 ep 5) is insane and delusional.
@@wrbk19 This explains why JINX believes what she believes... it doesn't change the realities of what she does to Vi, or how Vi is suffering because of what the world is forcing her to do. It does not change that Jinx's tea party was entirely unfair, and gave Vi no REAL chance or agency to affect a change. Jinx brought everybody to that table to affirm herself as who she was going to be, with no thought or consideration of how she was going to do that... or what it would do to the people she kidnapped and forced to be there... and because of that she lost EVERYTHING at that teaparty. She lost her dad, by killing him, and she lost her sister, by forcing Vi to side against her.
I watched this video for the first time after I saw season 2 and not only is this video amazing with the analogy and messaging but it's also accurate on what happens in the show. It's so cool.
Honestly, that's one of the biggest compliments you could have given 🙏 Super stoked you enjoyed it that much! We'll work hard to make sure our Season 2 review is just as good 😉
Just discovered this video/channel while looking for Season 2 reactions and I loved every second of this video! You both know what you are talking about and you are also very pleasant to listen to - can't believe you aren't even at 10k subs with the amount of quality you deliver! Seeing it's a new video talking about Season 1 I just hope we won't need to wait as long for your Season 2 review! Lots of love from Germany :)
I just wanted to say that I LOVED your video and thought it was so funny how many predictions for season 2 you two got right. I mean sure, a small portion of them were a bit off, but the vast majority were impressively on point.
How can this have so few likes? This analysis is very interesting and pleasant to hear :) felt very relax and happy while having you guys on the background. Keep it up!!
Thank you so much 😄 Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏 Thankfully a few more people have liked it since you commented. Thanks for being one of the first to the video! 🎉
First time viewer. Loved the breakdown of both film making tools used as well as character discussion, more psychological. Definitely liked and subscribed. Can’t wait to see more. 👍🏼
“I thought I saw her on the trailer “ “You did not” -enemy sound in the background- “That might be true” “It is not” -enemy sound in the background again- I choked laughing 😂
Cinema therapy and this channel are the goats we need more breakdowns of the psychological aspects of what where watching and how it relates to the audience and to how some metal disorders can play into and how life can affect you.❤ you guys got a new sub out of me immediately
It is kind of jarring seeing a therapist looking at a broken person struggling to survive in a horrible world and instead of describing it as a human experience and understanding how no-one is supposed to have that kind of experience he says that the only reason he can understand why people are drawn to Jinx is "she has that chaotic energy that people enjoy [...] even the idea of living the life on the edge [...] but that risk is energizing" 45:16 almost like a sociopath talking about a human being having emotions is something wrong and it completely alien to them. 50:30 she has been branded with this identity when she was a child, but she is not that child here. She hasn't been for the longest time. "Powder" is the identity Vi pushes onto her and "Jinx" is the identity Silco pushes onto her. Because she cannot go back to being Powder, someone who she isn't any more, she can only go forward. 56:00 "She would probably belong a lot more in Piltover than in Zaun" it is basically saying "Ah yes, this smart child has the right to belong in the rich part of the city where there is no starvation and drugs are used for recreation and not for survival. She and only she deserves to belong with the upper class." Not that the slums shouldn't exists, not that it would be nice not to have divide, no, it's that she has a gift and so she gets a free ticket... Tell me you are entitled without telling me you are entitled. It is kind of scary to see someone calling themselves a therapists seeing Jinx and calling her a monster instead of fighting the premise. He dehumanize her from the beginning. Which is not the attitude I would expect from a person who decided to heal people and help them become better... 1:04:59 The moment you start calling people monsters it is downhill from there.
> almost like a sociopath talking about a human being having emotions is something wrong and it completely alien to them. he is from the middle class. the bourgeois academic discourse requires him to deny relevance of socioeconomical situation, and interpret everything as strictly individual. Michel Foucault deconstructed this discourse in his works, especially the role of psychiatrists in creating the idea of "normalcy" to justify their class legitimacy to deny the relevance of socioeconomical situation.
The chain reaction goes back even further really because if Ekko hadn't given Vi the tip about the lab they wouldn't have gone and if Jayce had picked a different shop (Or had the common sense awareness to not throw his money around so flippantly in zaun ) then Ekko wouldn't have even known about the lab. And If Caitlyn's family wasn't funding Jayce's illegal experiments then Jayce wouldn't have had the resources to throw around.
Excellent deep dive into what is a truly magnificent piece of television, animation or otherwise. Very excited for updated/conclusive thoughts in the wake of season 2 ending.
Right like I'm so tired of these clickbait thumbnails. The video turns out to be good, but the thumbnails nearly stear me away from giving the video a chance.
1:13:15 > The interesting thing is, I'd go even further than this : The tip wasn't just happenstance, it came from Ekko (working for Benzo) who saw Jayce getting stuff from the shop. Piltover fear of magic made Jayce, who wanted to research hextech, go to a shop in the undercity to get stuff for his research, leading to little man giving the tip to Vi and crew. And everything after this goes full circle to Jinx using hextech as a weapon against Piltover. Also > the idea of Jinx's identity being beaten into Powder rings so true it's painful, but I disagree about her "choosing" to be Jinx at the dinner. She never had any choice, when she gave the options, Silco took the choice from them trying to kill Vi. The choices were : either choose Silco and become Jinx voluntarily, or save Vi, kill Silco and lose a(nother) father figure from her own hands, once again pushing her towards the Jinx persona (which probably was the last straw on her already fractured psyche).
The real truth is that it would feel strange for Arcane NOT to do that. I won't spoil our Season 2 review, but Arcane does such a good job of setting up characters to have importance and meaning (even if they're just side characters) that a random Mage that plays no other part in the story felt off. Arcane's writers set the expectation that everything matters, so I just trusted that was true for the secret Mage as well.
Thank you, glad to have you aboard! "How do you only have X subs?" is one of our favorite comments to get 😁 we'll keep trying to make the video quality higher than our sub count 👍
ooh the whole topic about the two braids as jinx being unsure of her identity due to her childhood only having one is kind of a good take since in the end she shaves it all as if wanting to “start again”
52:40 This is something that I just realized I can relate to. As someone who just recently realized that I suffer from gender dysphoria, the idea of an identity that is almost forced into you to the point that it almost brings pain strikes closer to home than I had realized. Obviously it's not a 1 to 1 comparison, but it's an interesting thing to have noticed.
As someone completely new to the LoL universe, I was appreciative of the first few episodes, explaining some of the characters background. It is important that creators do that if they want to appeal to an even larger audience and pick up the people like me, who may only click on it for obscure reasons and then invest in it. I am now hooked and am ready to really go look at the rest. Funnily, my father is one of the biggest comic book/gamer/anime participants I know and has been trying for YEARS to get me to look. This is the one that did it for me!
Great Video! I just wanted to clarify somehting that was said: "ASD" is included on the list of disorders which long haired man (I'm so sorry , IDK your names as of yet) argues Jinx presents a mish-mash of the symptoms/traits of. I wanted to check that you did in fact mean Autism (which I do indeed agree with) and not Anti social Disorder, which is officially abbreviated to ASPD but I could totally see easily slipping up and saying ASD; especially bc society doesn't normally call it either "Autism Spectrum Disorder" or "ASD."
Thanks! So glad you liked it! Maybe there is some confusion, at 38:17 is when I think are referring to, but the abbreviations weren't used, instead "Anti Social Disorder" was stated. You're correct that we in fact did not mean Autism. Was there a different timestamp that you might be referring to instead?
The point made at 55:15 is a great and also echoes what Viktor says later in the series about how the source of their greatest good is also the cause of their greatest evil
59:00 it goes deeper than "organic vs. inorganic architecture." Zaun and Piltover feature Art Nouveau and Art Deco, respectively. Not only that, but they also embody the fundamental ideas, values, and history of these art movements. Much like characters are foils to each other, so are art movements, with Art Deco rising to prominence immediately after Art Nouveau...there's way too much regarding these movements' relevance into a commnet, but def worth looking into if that sort of thing interests you
You guys have some great insights, but I think you need to reexamine your assumptions regarding the differences between the Jinx and Powder personalities. You seem to treat Jinx like it's her wild and out of control personality, but that's not at all what we're shown. Powder is the personality that's incompetent, utterly dependent on Vi, and capable of doing terrible things to the people she loves. Jinx, on the other hand, builds guns and bombs that actually work, is very skilled in their use, and shows a love and devotion to Silco that goes beyond just needing him to survive. The first time we see Jinx after the time skip, she's calmly and efficiently dispatching members of a rival gang that attacked her airship, until she sees a pink haired girl that reminds her of Vi. Then she loses it, freezing up in the middle of a fire before snapping into action and shooting the girl in the back, killing Vi in effigy. Then she starts shooting her minigun wildly, only hitting one of Silco's goons who's on her side. The next time she shows up is in Silco's office. It's clear that these kinds of breakdowns happen occasionally, and Silco sends her to work on her gadgets, knowing that building things that work is a thing that Jinx does, not Powder, and will help her recover. Unfortunately, Powder interprets this as an abandonment and decides to make a statement to prove that "she's ready." The statement involves several police officers killed, which Silco initially berates her for, but her statement is made when she presents with the hextech gemstone and he's astounded by it. His approval brings back Jinx, who goes to work on harnessing the power of hextech, but a minor mishap gives her a flashback to the monkey bomb, summoning Powder again. Silco takes her to the lake and performs the baptism on her, and she leaves Powder under the water and comes up as Jinx. She's then able to develop hextech all by herself, something that even Jayce needed Viktor for. Then Vi shows back up, which causes Powder to emerge, and there's several more instances of uncontrolled teamkilling, always in proximity to Vi (almost shooting Vi when the Firelights attack them, blowing up more enforcers followed by an attempted suicide bombing of Ekko, etc). All of this culminates in the final decision of who she'll be at the last supper. Vi repeatedly calls back Powder, which Jinx resists; she hates Powder, the person that killed her family. After a complete breakdown, Powder emerges, something that can only have one outcome. Silco manages to pick up a discarded pistol and tries to kill Vi to end it, but it's too late. Powder reacts to the sound of the pistol being cocked and opens fire, once again killing all the family she has. That's the last straw, and Jinx utterly rejects Powder and all she represents. In contrast to Powder's wild shooting sprees throughout the show, she methodically fetches her hextech rocket launcher, and with deliberate and absolute intention, blasts away the enemy counterparts to the father she lost. The big thing in all of this that people seem to miss is that being near or thinking about Vi consistently brings out the "bad" side of her, while Silco is repeatedly shown to be able to help her "good" side regain control.
"Mylo was right" - and Powder's eyes widen in horror, Powder realises, closes her eyes and internalises what was said - cognising it like taking a mental snapshot. That heart wound hit harder than the slap.
Please keep talking about the framing of this show like you did with the Vi/Vander Bridge talk!! Also would love you both to discuss Silco has a human (not the antagonist)
12:30 this is actually a very common "practice" that a lot of animators and artists do, and I use quotation marks bc most of the time is not intentional. This type of thing can also be extended into other type of movements such as dancing, singing, writing, drawing a gun, etc. It helps not only to understand how the movements work and how to translate them into the media but also for *character acting*, acting out what the character will say and do gives the animator/artist an insight into that character's mind and how they're feeling which makes the end result feel more emotional and true and thus more impacting to the viewer. Animation students may have a theater or acting class precisely for this reason
Hey I hope this doesn't come off as rude but multiple personalities disorder is now considered DID or dissociative identity disorder. The disorder is also more about dissociation and the way personalities are not fully developed due to repeated truama. The way it was described in the video i feel wasn't accurate and feeding into the misinformation about DID.
The deep dive into the "fight" with Jinx and the boxing machine helped me see something.- Jinx isn't on the score board. Powder is. Considering the choice she makes at season end between the chairs, I found that detail an interesting bit of the storytelling of the scoreboard.
There are no secret reason, just a perfect story, perfect animation, perfect music and people who did what they are talented in with incredible attention to detail for the sake of art, not for money (like top studios like Marvel do). Just a unique work and an example of what really talented people are capable of if they are allowed to develop independently. This is the best series in the history of mankind by a combination of factors at the moment. Bravo!
@@FrameOfMindBros Just shouting you out for another amazingly engaging episode! Clever choice for lighting in the background as well, intentional or otherwise haha!
That's certainly a good way to frame it. People sometimes think about those two elements being an either/or decision, when really it's probably more accurate to look at what elements of your natural inclinations present themselves and how they interact with your current environment. How those two things react to one another can have a huge impact on how a person is forged over time.
Idk if anyone’s mentioned in the comments and I haven’t finished the full video, but when you talk about the structure of Piltover and Jayce, and Zaun being more organic and Zaun’s connection to Viktor, it’s also reflected in the types of magic they use. Jayce uses hextech in tools that he designed and built, whereas Viktor uses the chaotic hexcore. And later when it’s theorised that magic could get annoyed at being confined, used and abused, and could choose to turn against them, that’s sorta like topside and the undercity too. Again, sorry if this is obvious or discussed already🙈
I think that's a really great way to put it!! There's absolutely a reflection in each characters' personality, perspective and background in the way they wield magic.
Sure Vi slapped Powder and called her Jinx, but that was a brief moment of her own personal breakdown because she lost their dad Vander, and the second after she did it she froze and saw what she did and how wrong it was, but sadly being the age she also was wasn't able to process it properly. After a few moments she needed to collect herself she went back to make it right, but was kidnapped and it was too late. She didn't get the chance to make it right despite every intention. And also to be fair, Powder did disobey Vi and showed up as this 'job' was significantly more dangerous than simply a Break and Enter. Both of them made poor choices and they just happened to collide at a single moment which caused the domino effect. Despite the Vi had been living her whole life for other people. The reason why I think Jinx says what she says at the end of S2 E9. was so Vi would finally let a piece of the past go to move forward and begin to live her life for herself and enjoy some happiness of her own.
> And also to be fair, Powder did disobey Vi this is the relations which Vi established with Powder - brute force obeyance. keep in mind that it is not the first time Vi was violent towards Powder. rewatch "Enemy" video from "Imagine Dragons", Vi beats there Powder for finger shooting Enforcerers, which leaves Powder traumatized, unable to process what she did wrong.
Jinx get to see both Vander and Silco as father figures, she learnt more from both sides. I don't think Milo created Jinx, Powder got annoyed by Milo's criticism but it never hurts until Vi agreed with it.
Okay I’m not gonna be able to watch this full video right away but just gotta say vi deserves so much love and forgiveness she lost her whole family then was taken to prison for years
I know Jinx might have killed Vander, but that doesn't give VI an excuse to punch and abandon her. In all honesty, Silco is one of my favorite characters made, because he of all people took in someone who no one else would, which proves he actually has a soft spot for Jinx, revealed in his last words "You're perfect." I relate to Jinx so much that I understand what Jinx was going through, especially with struggling in choosing VI or Silco.
How would you react if you found out that your sister , accidentally caused the death of most of your found family ? I doubt you would react calmly and understanding at the moment. Also keep in mind, which most forget for some reason , Vi was a child , a child who had to grow up very fast for her sister and also because of the harsh environment. Vi at that moment needed to leave and calm herself down after hitting her, and if I’m not mistaken, was going to get back to her but was knocked out and arrested.
Sorry for the confusion, we didn't realize we couldn't do Free channel memberships so we will be working to find a different membership solution that hopefully includes a free option 🙏 Thanks for understanding
Considering how incredibly popular Arcane is, I wouldn't be surprised if the game eventually conforms to the show
@@dgmilloway The two aren't mutually exclusive. The could've started with the end and worked backwards
@did they say that in an interview?
And now that isha is (presumably) dead, that line might come back to haunt her even more.
She was so young yet did thay
It's a great piece of visualization that calls back to Mylo's line for sure
Tbh jinx not like to much older then Vi's ages in the first act . Most people doesnt get that i think . She is not a grown women . So he cant beat vi s last higy score but is that really showing someting ?
@@rajew5356 Vi was probably like 13-14 in act 1, whereas Jinx is likely about 16-17 in act 2. I'd say that's still a significant difference.
@renx81 So u are saying this ages with what kind of referance ? I dont think so .
Mental illnesses can be associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities.”
BPD, APD, NPD and multiple other personality disorders- Clusters A, B & C- are genuine mental health illnesses/disorders.
@@FrameOfMindBrosI disagree that she’s a horrible villain tbh
the whole 'powder being better in piltovers academy' talk is so real, especially ocnsidering how ekko and pow-pow were basically the same person as kids (their tragic storyline of ekko being what powder 'could have been') and that ekko ends up becoming heimerdingers apprentice in season 2

Yet despite all her insecurity, lack of agency, and need of validation from Vi, she went anyway.
THE FACT THAT YOU PREDICTED THAT THE WIZARD WOULD BE VIKTOR IS ASTONISHING. Soooo smart
Lol they said "called it" on so many smaller things but that went ignored 😂
My guess was between Viktor or Jayce himself. Especially when time travel became introduced.
Season 2 just gives more credence to Jinx being a much better sister than Vi.
Also excusing physical abuse is crazy man. He was Jinx's father too.
The reason why I think their circumstances are incomparable is because in the beginning the show we have already seen the vast majority of the pain and trauma both girls are enduring, and Vi being 15 having to take the role of big sister/leader for THREE people is a lot of weight to carry and IMO she did a pretty good job with what she had.(if only she’d stop rushing to fight people knowing the others would want to follow)
Jinx being a younger sibling already has the knowledge of having an older sister and treated isha how she (probably) would have wished Vi treated powder.(for example letting isha go everywhere with her, even in battle, which she learned the hard way why Vi told her to stay home that one time)
And I also don’t think a two year age difference ALONE would account for a vast difference in emotional maturity, but it’s definitely a factor ESPECIALLY in Arcane of all shows people change drastically in days.
@nostalji93 es más hacia esquizofrenia, no crees?
Your title isn't just provocative, it is suggestive that has the potential to escalate. It is completely unnecessary added element to already interestingly complex dynamics of a parentified child and her sibling, not to mention distracting from unifying struggles of the people of the underworld where one can lose objectivity. Needless to say a 'dislike' for the title is appropriate but necessary to discourage such need for false narrative for views.

Came for Arcane, stayed for the entertaining and nuanced discussion. Seeing it from 2 perspectives, one from fresh eyes and one who has already seen the show. Now that Season 2 has fully come out, I'm excited to see your takes on it.
Awesome! 😄🙏 So glad you liked it! Can't wait to share season 2 review! Coming out soon 😉
psychosis is usually born out of trauma... i may have been born with something in my genes, but my schizophr3n!a didn't boom into existence until my mind completely broke. my brain opened it felt like. and it was never going to close again. that's what psychosis feels like. i had however, always felt like i was standing at the edge of a cliff, all my life. almost tipping over, but i didn't know what i feared in was tipping over to. until one day it did... one doesn't have to have had schizophr3n!a all their life, that's not how it works... but with enough stress and trauma, your brain can do many things, in order to escape the pain. i believe to my core, and so does the people who diagnosed me, and my therapist, that schizophr3n!a is created out of trauma ......
Thank you so much! 🙏

I think the more obvious counterpart to Heimerdinger is Viktor.
Viktor! @@FrameOfMindBros
Plus it still keeps going back now that we know that victor was the mage, everything comes full circle…
@@annoyingfandragon Dude, exactly! Because, if Viktor never went back to save Jayce as a kid, his life would've been miserable and he would've continued to make the biggest mistake of his life which was attempting the "final Glorious Evolution" through the Hexcore. He knew only Jayce would be able to get through to him because of the love and respect they had for each other as partners and brothers. THIS SHOW IS SO WELL WRITTEN AND I LOVE IT!!!!
Vi is a real good sister, Jinx is a bad sister, and im tired of people shitting on Vi for no reason
Thanks so much! 😊
Stay tuned for our season 2 video 👍
This channel deserves waaaaaaayyy more subs. Keep it up guys! You are giving something unique in your way of doing it
Much appreciated!
Apologies if we managed to choose an example that actually DOESN'T show what we're talking about 😅
Stoked you like the episode!
DONT FORGET THE FIRELIGHTS AND EKO. you should look into them. they break every rule everyone else follows and do what the people actually need
TRUE! Yeah sadly we touched on them a little bit but had to cut it out 😢 There's only so much time even keeping 1h30m 😅
Stoked you agree 😄🙏 I think that's something that makes Arcane (sadly) so unique and engaging!
@@FrameOfMindBros Lol ya, when I say hyper-fixated I mean like straight up obsessed, so you had a pretty big pile of thoughts to compete with.
@@gaara_of_the_desert1118 So what will happen in episode 7

I've been searching for a video about Arcane like this. A super deep-dive on almost every scene. Well done
Thanks so much! We're trying to make super-deep dives our thing ☺️
WOW great video guys ! What superb quality from such a small channel
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you so much! Looking forward to hearing what you think of our thoughts on S2 😄
PLEASE do an analysis of season 2. I am so wrecked by it and I would love to hear what you guys think.
It's been a little delayed, but we're working on it! It'll be the next video out 👍
@@FrameOfMindBros Great to hear this! This was great and I would love to hear more analysis from the two of you!
@1:17:00 BRO MUST FEEL SO VINDICATED XD
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Vindicated 😂😂😂
What a gem of a channel to find and feed my love of Arcane and film😅👌🏽
Hope you guys break down season 2🙏🏽
Thank you so much! 🙏

Just call me Shakespeare 😂 glad you liked the line as much as me 😉😭

Right like I'm so tired of these clickbait thumbnails. The video turns out to be good, but the thumbnails nearly stear me away from giving the video a chance.
The thing that made you click.
A partial truth
Damn that prediction at 16:55 is wild. I would never even consider that.
So stoked I was right about that one 😂
Amazing episode guys, can’t wait for the season 2 episode!! 🙏🏽
Thanks so much! We're working hard on it 😁🫡
1:16:48 That statement did age well
such an amazing video with near perfect analysis of the series
Thank you so much! 🙏
would love to see you guys discuss season 2, this was such an insightful and interesting way to analyze the story :)
Thanks so much! Our season 2 video is the next one we'll be releasing 👍
1:13:15 > The interesting thing is, I'd go even further than this :
The tip wasn't just happenstance, it came from Ekko (working for Benzo) who saw Jayce getting stuff from the shop.
Most of your predictions were actually on point, really good insight in the series, well done!
Thank you so much! 🙏
How the hell did this man predict the Victor time travel plot twist?!
🧠🧠🧠
The real truth is that it would feel strange for Arcane NOT to do that. I won't spoil our Season 2 review, but Arcane does such a good job of setting up characters to have importance and meaning (even if they're just side characters) that a random Mage that plays no other part in the story felt off. Arcane's writers set the expectation that everything matters, so I just trusted that was true for the secret Mage as well.
This is fire bruh, how are yall only 9k subs. Subbed.
Thank you, glad to have you aboard! "How do you only have X subs?" is one of our favorite comments to get 😁 we'll keep trying to make the video quality higher than our sub count 👍
i CAN'T wait till you guys do season 2
Same! 😄 STOKED!
ooh the whole topic about the two braids as jinx being unsure of her identity due to her childhood only having one is kind of a good take since in the end she shaves it all as if wanting to “start again”
Yoooooo your predictions were so on point, great job
Thanks! Let's see if everything ends the way we think with these final few episodes 😅🤞
He really just predicted victor being the wizard
🤯
That's a great point!
Unfortunately, Powder interprets this as an abandonment and decides to make a statement to prove that "she's ready."
The statement involves several police officers killed, which Silco initially berates her for, but her statement is made when she presents with the hextech gemstone and he's astounded by it.
THIS PODCAST NEEDS MORE ATTENTION!
Glad you think so 😁🙏🏻
Please keep talking about the framing of this show like you did with the Vi/Vander Bridge talk!!
Also would love you both to discuss Silco has a human (not the antagonist)
Sounds like that’s right up our alley 😁 looks like Season 2 will hopefully give more of the human side of Silco as well to dive into 💁🏼♂️
12:30 this is actually a very common "practice" that a lot of animators and artists do, and I use quotation marks bc most of the time is not intentional.
The way it was described in the video i feel wasn't accurate and feeding into the misinformation about DID.
best analyze yet! can't wait for a break down for season 2!
Thanks! 🙏 So glad you think so! Season 2 Breakdown coming as fast as we can watch the final 3 episodes 😄👀
You guys said "called it" to so many things but my man literally shot for shot described the ending and it's ignored 😂
The deep dive into the "fight" with Jinx and the boxing machine helped me see something.- Jinx isn't on the score board. Powder is. Considering the choice she makes at season end between the chairs, I found that detail an interesting bit of the storytelling of the scoreboard.
Great episode as always! Hope you are enjoying season 2!
Thanks! 🙏 you too! Can't wait for the final episodes so we can do a FULL deep dive!
Very well edited, I'm taking notes
Thanks so much 🙏🏻 that means a lot!
Vi is a good protector but a bad sister, Jinx is a good sister but a bad protector
Bravo!
Ohh man... already know this one's going to be the best one yet in the worst way possible. Much love ♥
Thanks! 🙌 We managed to hold it together this episode 🥲
@@FrameOfMindBros Just shouting you out for another amazingly engaging episode! Clever choice for lighting in the background as well, intentional or otherwise haha!
Haha the lighting was very intentional 😏😉
bros called viktor being the wizard we say in s1 AND cait being authoritarian?? wild, never could have predicted those
Is that a nature vs nurture moment? For Powder being raised in Zaun and feeling out of place vs her possibly being better suited to piltover?
> And also to be fair, Powder did disobey Vi
this is the relations which Vi established with Powder - brute force obeyance. keep in mind that it is not the first time Vi was violent towards Powder. rewatch "Enemy" video from "Imagine Dragons", Vi beats there Powder for finger shooting Enforcerers, which leaves Powder traumatized, unable to process what she did wrong.
Jinx get to see both Vander and Silco as father figures, she learnt more from both sides.
I don't think Milo created Jinx, Powder got annoyed by Milo's criticism but it never hurts until Vi agreed with it.
omg this video is sooooo good, wish they talked more about viktor though
If you want Viktor then you'll love our Season 2 review 😉
The imagery of her dead friends was Powder using her memories to hold herself back from becoming Jinx. She wasn’t schizophrenic, she was traumatized.
ALSO, what makes them choose to rob Jayce's place? Because his shopping in Zaun leads to Ekko giving Vi the tip.
Damn great analysis boyz. Subbed
Thanks so much! Stoked you liked it! 🙏
