Oh don't worry, I not only liked and subscribed but I also liked your video that much that I recorded it to DVD so I can watch it through a DVD player as part of my Sega 8-bit series (a collection of random RUclips videos by various artists). This Sonic game is a fine addition to the series and it was clear that Ancient wanted to set it apart from it's original bigger brother on the Mega Drive and try and steer the game in a different direction. It just happened to be the first video game I ever got to play way back in 1992 when my mother bought me a Sega Master System II console bundled with Sonic 1, Hang-On and Alex Kidd built in.
@@GFrom You got a good speaking voice thats very comfortable on the ears and I really appreciate the way you scroll through the entire game and give feedback on each section and also provide a bit of humour here and there, well done! (And yes, i've watched your review of the sequel on SMS) very good review also. Keep up the great reviews mate!
I bought my Master System because of Sonic 1. I saw a review and some pictures in a magazine, and realized it was a completly different game from the Mega Drive game. Actually, I prefer the Master System Sonic 1. And The Bridge music is pure gold!
I consider the Master System version to the prequel to the Genesis one . Marble Zone is discovered after the events of the game . Labyrinth Zone isn't completly explored Jungle Zone is turned into Spring Yard Zone because in the bottom of the background of SYZ there are remains of Jungle Zone , the Sky Base Zone most likely crashed and Robotnik used it's parts to build Star Light Zone .
16:27 I've never got this Chaos Emerals with the invincibility shield. I just jumped into the spikes and jumped fast back in and and out to get it while being in the short invincibility state. And I think I'm the only one who likes the auto-scrolling in Bridge Zone Act 2 and the death bottom of Jungle Zone Act 2 😅. It was my first Sonic game on my first console and I really loved and enjoyed every bit of it. I liked all the ideas, giving much variation to the levels, especially in the second acts. I think it was training me being good in platformers, as I had to take care of every step and had to think about how to manage to get through a more difficult level (Labyrinth Zone). Thank you for this amazing review. Und schöne Grüße aus Hannover! ☺
I hadn't noticed until someone else said (please forgive me if this is common knowledge and I sound dumb right now), Bridge Zone sounds like Janet Jackson's Back to You (I don't know how true it is but he claimed it was sampled. If so, another connection with that family and Sega lol). I first got to know this game in the '90s ('97 I believe). My grandma died and left her Mega Drive to me (CLEARLY I was the most loved lol) and my bro got butthurt so he went out and bought an old Master System and a ton of games (just to dangle in front of me). Sonic 1 was one of the games. Loved and still do, even if now it just makes me think of my jealous brother!
I honestly grew up thinking the 8 bit version was the original (having inherited the console from my older siblings), so colour me surprised playing the Megadrive version as an adult and being, "wait, this isn't how *I* remember it!".
Bridge Zone sounds like a Janet Jackson song, but I can't remember which one. 'Everywhere you . . .' something. I had this game for the Master System as a kid. It was a nice supplement to my Sonic collection. I had something of a Sonic Shrine as a kid. Games, comics, toys, all sorts. This game was a nice time and I remember really loving the ending credits.

Wow thanks, that's awesome! I also have the Master System II with Alex Kidd built in.

The BRIDGE song is magical. No wonder Janet Jackson sampled it on TOGETHER AGAIN
I agree 100% bridge zone is the zone WE need in a bit more sonic games.
Sonic Superstars brought it back

Makes sense!
Fun fact. Bridge Zone’s music was remixed in Sonic Adventure for Tail’s theme song “Believe in Myself” ;)

When I was a kid I didn't know about the term autoscrolling. I described it as the screen is chasing you
I can relate. Being chased by the screen is kinda scary now that I think about it...

Dude, yes! This is the one I grew up with, I never played the Genesis version until much later. Thanks for reviewing this one.
Awesome! I will review the Sequel next. Did you play that one as well?
@@GFrom yeah, I played 2 and 3 on Genesis, it'd be cool to hear your take on them!
Back in the day I found an action replay code that stops the auto scrolling and removes the water from labyrinth making it really fun
Is English your second language? Because you speak insanely well if so!
Thank you! It's my third language after swedish and german
How is this possible? It's hard for me to learn English and I still don't feel confident talking to someone. I'm impressed :)
@@graczprawdziwy4307 It's very impressive, yes.

Fun fact, Janet Jackson sampled the music for the Bridge Zone for her song Together Again.
The music is amazing and soooooo much nostalgia
Wish this was a extra/dlc for origins
Janet Jackson also used paet of Bridge zone music in together again
My favourite sonic game ever
It is not even close to underrated. Everyone loves this game
Always preferred the MS version over the MD one.
Great games!!
ehh its ok
