Nice presentation although sometimes the presentor accidentaly covered his camera and can not see what and how he loosen the screw specially when he removed the housing.
do u hv a video for p1000 nikon ? i have the lens stuck on full zoom. power button makes noise but doesnt do anything to lens its stuck. also a video on how to change the screen as its not broken but cable inside worn or cut. the eyepiec only can be used to see menu and crd
Yes I do have a video on the P1K...basically warning people not to buy one! To get unstuck it is a bit more involved than a P900. Check out the video here: ruclips.net/video/0mF3P0y3TbE/видео.html As for the screen I have a spare P1K screen, I could fix the camera for cost if you like.
Hello, thank you so much for your very useful video. I followed it carefully step by step to fix the stuck lens of a friend's p900, but unfortunately I broke a flexible cable while reassembling the back of the device. As you know there are two flexible cables and one of them is so short... I found a replacement cable on Aliexpress, so I would like to ask you if you have tips to reassemble the back easier. Apologize if you did a video about this, I didn't find it. Thank you very much in advance for your help :-)
It is quite hard to re-assemble and be careful of the cables. I would guess it's the cable for the fine focus motor and it's split nearer the motor. I've seen this before. When having to put the two cables through the array housing before putting it an and securing to the lens housing assembly, I attach to threads or thin flexible wire to the cable ends and gently pull them through. Also note the that fine focus motor is deigned to extend and collapse when the lens zooms in/out. the cable itself is crimped in a way in order for it to fold naturally when re-assembled. Check out my playlists for the P900 cameras etc, I am sure there is one in there that shows or info's the details of this particular issue. Good luck.
@@ChrisFEJackson @ChrisFEJackson Hello Chris, thank you very much for your quick and detailed reply :-) I will try your tip with thin flexible wire and look for the video you tell me about. The cable I broke is the one you disconnect at 8:09. I wonder if it is the screen cable because in this case my friend would be ok to use his p900 without the screen, otherwise I will have to disassemble more than I did to replace this cable. Good evening :-)
Hello, Please help me hopefully i beg to you.. The gear box has done fix normally, and the sound has back normally smooth, but the monitor notification still lens error. Dial pad rotary i try to change one by one, but still lens error notification. What i can do for this notification? Please help me.. Please..🙏
Hi Diamond, it looks as if you have an issue with the fine focus lens issue. This has to be homed as well. This is located within the main lens assembly and more than likely a cable may have been damaged. You will need to remove the whole lens assembly from the camera, strip down the housings and gain access to the fine focus motor & cable to verify if damaged or not. Most likely is. I recently told that to someone who had the actual same symptoms as yours and it turned out to be the case. Good luck with it.
@@ChrisFEJackson Thanks so much for your response Sir.. I have done checked fine focus lens, but it homed as well. The flexibility cable i checked, it's good and not damaged. I have done totally removed the camera part. It's good for all. Today, maybe i make decision to call official service center in my country. Last way i think. Thank you very much before to make a video for Nikon Coolpix P900 camera. I'm very appreciated to you.. God bless you hopefully..
Buena suerte.
not a very good video really, for anyone wanting info how to take one of these cameras to pieces, if you'd thought about an over head shot, that would have made all the difference, instead of looking at your arm , and maybe showing clearly were the crews are to be removed before you start, ill give you a thumbs down and not bother watching any more ,,, very poor effort , cheers Shane uk

Thanks buddy, yes, I know I'm not perfect. :)
Thank you for the great video!
I also had my Nikon P900 in the same situation and repaired it.
I wanted to do this and it was helpful.
Great news! So happy it helped you, love the trains 😀
I’d be left with the odd screw or 2. Well done Chris, obviously I knew you could mend her. 😊
I just hide mine ;) Thanks for the vote of confidence. I didn't really fix it, reckon it may come back, the elusive rogue debris!

Acabo de comprar una p1000 nueva y aun no la recibí...pero ya me arrepiento!! Veo wue son cámaras muy debiles y fragiles. Nikon ya no es nikon?

look at some other videos, appreciate the feedback but if this was the only one then I would have emphasized the positions as before
