Thank you Johnny , with the aid of your video I was able to fix my old Coolpix L310 , it had blown a 5 amp smd fuse, Best regards from Hurlingham , Argentina.
Thanks Jonny. I have a L320 with exactly the same issue stuck since 2 years ago as I was asked USD 200 to fix it by the Nikon authorized service in Argentina which was non sense. I don't feel I am skilled and I might have not the right tools to do the unsoldering, but your video shown me exactly were I had to puch it; so I gave it a couple of good hits by a plastic remote controler exactly were the motor is and it works again!
A great video, thanks. I have the coolpix L840 but it looks identical. Mine will not power up at all, I have had the back off to try to get to the bottom of the battery box (there had been some battery leakage, which I thought I had fixed). I lost my nerve at that point but will now carry on. There is not much to lose, the camera is scrap unless it powers up!
I have the coolpix L830 with the same problem, with this video I gave a couple of punch with the palm of my hand where the gears are and it fixed the issue. The camera was sitting for 2 years and now is working again thanks to this video. Thank you, for posted it.
I fixed mine. Took card out, took battery out, Inserted a post it note on the outside of the lens and went all around the lens. Felt for a spot where it slightly jams from crud. Kept going around till I felt it was clean. Sprayed an electronic element spray very lightly on it. Replace battery. In my mini screw set, I took the smallest one and inserted on the outside of the lens to pull lens out lightly and pushed power on and pulled screw driver out while pulling on lens..... Fixed....
These videos and your time are very very interesting and informative and appreciated Mmmmmmmm I could watch your videos all day long. It’s interesting and sad at the same time how many of these top quality cameras are thrown away🤷♂️🤔😳but with a RUclips tutorial video like yours could have other cameras up and running with a little work
I think my coolpix l340 has a broken image stabilizer, bacuse it make a violent shake from left to right when I slightly move right or left. Can it be fix?
I have a Coolpix a900 and I dropped it on the carpet on a few inches off the ground and now it keeps saying, turn off the camera and turn it back on, and whenever I do that my camera started making clicking noises and starts chattering. I really need help I don’t know if I broke it.
If the lens is stuck out at all and not retracting then you've probably got something misaligned from the lens bearing the brunt of the impact assuming it was turned on when you dropped it. The only mechanical noises you'd ever get from a camera is from the drive motor that moves this. You will need to fully disassemble it, inspect the gears and guide pins on the outer cylinders for damage and if all ok put it back together and cross your fingers. Good luck!
My Nikon coolpix L330 camera switched off while it's lens is became outer. I charged the batteries and put in it . But it donot turn on...please suggest me what should I do?
I have a problem with my coolpix l340 when zooming then when i slightly bump to thr left the picture in the screen moves to the right and same to opposite in bumping to the right, but it only happens when i zoom about half of the zoom
Sounds like image stabilisation. Can you turn it off in settings to see if it stops. I wouldn't consider it a fault unless it never used to with the same settings. My new camera does something similar.
I have a Nikon L320. Its lense was stuck open. When i opened it and gave external current to the lense motor it worked perfectly, but when i close it the motor can't move the lense although i can feel the motor trying to move. I am wondering what could be the problem 🤔🤔. Is the voltage weak or what? Please help me
Maybe there is a fault with the cameras own motor drive circuit. Can you run wires to the motor in a way that lets you measure the voltage when it's trying to operate?
@@JonnyFix when the camera turns ON a warning shows up and says" remove the lense cap, turn off the camera and on again". I closed the lense when i assembled the camera, after assembly when i turned it on the first time the lense opened and then it remained stuck open and the above warning keeps showing up.
@@ajmalmaad4497 The warning might be a side effect of what is wrong, if the lens doesn't move because it's stuck or the motor isn't driving it etc then the only thing the software knows might cause that is if the lens cap is on and jamming it. There might be a small sliding or rotating potentiometer that provides a varying voltage dependent on position so it knows where the lens is. If that is bad, maybe from being dirty/worn out, then it won't drive the motor if it thinks it's all the way out when it isn't etc etc. If you find it you could try and measure the resistance over the full range of movement, it should be stable and linear, not jumping up then down etc. If bad it might need a clean.
I am gonna beg you Can you please make a video of replacing tripod mount of this nikon coolpix L310-L340 No one has never added a video of replacing the tripod mount of this camera
My camera is nikon coolpix l320 and the lense is stuck because it drop and its not the perfect circle anymore the one where the lense came out so its stuck there. And everytime i open it it says turn the camera off and remove the lense cap but actually its just stuck. What to do ?
My Nikon L380 lens is stuck open. I accidentally dropped it. I am hoping that this will help my issues. *Edit* I figured out how to fix the lens. First I tried to gently push the lense back in then I got the idea to pull the lens out slowly and it pulled out all of the way. Then I pushed it back in till it got to the point where it was stuck. I then pushed the power on button and it was back to normal.
@@JonnyFix Thanks, I love this camera. Does nice video and photos. I am not into things that are complicated. That is way I use a Nikon L830 digital camera and windows 7 professional. Thanks again
Was probably a plastic clip that let go. This happens a lot when disassembling things until you get a feel for what is where and can release it properly. Certainly wasn't critical to function.
I have a Nikon Coolpix B500 and I dropped mine the other day... it wasn't on when I did but now it says the same thing on yours! should I find a relate shop? and do you think it will cost much? I payed about $300 for the original price
Hey Spries is me. That sucks but there's a good chance the lens is stuck and it should be repairable. Couldn't comment on cost but I guess half it's value would be the most you'd want to spend. Have a chat to iPad Rehab based in Honeoye Falls. They don't just do ipads and Jessa is always looking for new things to fix. You can post it to them :)
Without looking at it I would assume there is a GPS module that could probably be removed or have the power feed to it cut. I don't know how the firmware would behave like this. It may lock up or it may just report no signal. There might be a separate GPS antenna like in a navman which you could disconnect. Given the specifics of GPS signals it likely wouldn't pick it up without the proper antenna attached. Firstly just be sure there's no setting to tell it not to tag photos.
@@JonnyFix lens was stuck but in the out position and when turned on the exact message came on....no worries...I touched something inside that made it pop...now im thinking of unique ways to use the screen...
Thank you for taking the time to record this. I had a new L840 that was stuck. Following your video I was able to get it working again.
