I was hitting big blocks because my lower body was very active and started much earlier than my arms. The only way I finally stopped the block, was to feel like I purposefully stalled my lower body and let the arms swing passed the body. Then finally I started hitting straight shots. So it may not always be a release issue.

Thank you for talking about and showing what I'm doing wrong. Every channel I see only shows me how to do it right but never explains the mechanics of why it's pushing or slices in the first place. Currently I have the ball lined up in front of my lead foot otherwise my club doesn't rotate enough and it flies off to the right. Hopefully this will help me have a more normal stance on the ball.

Does these same concepts work for your irons?

Hi Terry, yes, this would go for your irons as well. But just be sure to check your ball position and make sure your ball isn’t too far back in your stance.

Are you rotating the clubhead using your right or left hand and forearm?

Can the ball position be to far forward as I’ve moved my driver swing up and it’s much better as for strike but I block it right no snap hooks like before

Hi, yes ball position can be too far forward. Ball should be positioned inside your front heel for the driver.

I tend to pull my irons to the left of target and push my drives right of target, with little or no curvature on the ball flight ....can anyone offer any help....thanks

Hi Gary, it’s hard to say without seeing your swing. However, my first guess would be it’s inconsistency with your club face. Try checking out some of our videos on club face.

Great Instruction, I have two days to break 80 (my goal for June) and I started pushing the ball to the right as an attempt to a draw. this video helps!

I think that the tennis release is the best way to explain this problem.

I don't think it's so much the tonat passing the heel. I think it's a swing a little too much from in to out

Toe past the heel? What toe? What heel?

Funny, my push on my irons is a result of me fixing my banana slice on my driver. Tennis release is a good way to think about it. I find that when clear your hips the wrist will roll through. I will try this.

This suggests that everyone (if done right) will draw the ball,I’ve never hit a draw, not in 30 years yet I’m a 7 handicap.

To be fair if you’re blocking it that means youre most likely swinging in to out, which does favor a draw.

@@MikeSullivangolf Sorry Mike. I just get a bit stuck on the constant "baseball" comparisons. And I am sure there is more to the baseball swing than I know. That is, more swing information but now based around baseball. You've got an excellent channel
