THIS BAND:
Foghat is an English rock band formed in London in 1971. The band is known for the use of electric slide guitar in its music. The band has achieved eight gold records, one platinum and one double platinum record
The band initially featured Dave Peverett ("Lonesome Dave") on guitar and vocals, Tony Stevens on bass and Roger Earl on drums, after all three musicians left Savoy Brown in 1971. Rod Price, who is featured in this episode, was the specialist on guitar/slide guitar. Rod joined the band after he left Black Cat Bones in December 1970.
The new line-up was named "Foghat" (a nonsense word from a Scrabble-like game played by Peverett and his brother) in January 1971. There is a cartoon drawing on the back cover of the group's first album of a head wearing a foghat.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Nicely done! Joe from st. Francis cemetery! RI
There was some really great music in the 1960s&70s. I loved FogHat!
Never heard of them but they got a new fan today
You'd think there would be more to his burial plot. He was a rock legend.
I grew up listening to Foghat. Thank you Ron for posting this.
Awesome music 🎵
Foghat must have toured non stop throughout the 1970’s…saw the original lineup many times …never disappointed. Thanks for paying tribute Ron
🤟Foghat was awesome 🤟
Take It or Leave It was one of the greatest 70s songs of all time. RIP Mr Price. You are very missed.
Love the intro and the whole video Ron. You can't beat the music of the 70's. Thanks for sharing,
Love Foghat. Still listen to their music. Was fortunate enough to see them in the 70’s.
And yes that’s Rod’s main guitar pictured on his grave, his Gibson Les Paul Jr which was highly modified!
I LOVE Foghat! I'm only in my 30s but Im lucky to have parents in their 60s who had me grow up listening to all the amazing bands of the 70s and 80s. Nothing beats the music like back in those days that's for sure!
I remember roller skating to Slow Ride in the late 70’s & 80’s! Loved Foghat!
Most under rated band ever. These guys were amazing !
Man, this one makes me really sad! Growing up in Boston, I remember this band playing in clubs. That would have been in the 80’s, probably with the new guitarist, but they played a lot of the original stuff. It’s sobering to look at that memorial stone and think about how much this guy once rocked out, but now it’s only silence. Rock in peace. 🎸
As a teenager in the 70's I grew up listening 🎶 to Foghat- great band! 70's had the best music, still listen to it today! RIP Rod. Thanks,Ron,for bringing us his story.
I met Rod and all the other original members from Foghat .They were awesome and fun to hang out with . RIP Rod and Lonesome Dave ♡
very cool Cory!!
What a awesome musician thanks Ron for telling his story and may Rod rest in peace
The london native was instrumental in foghats rise to stardom remember me dad tell us he had died in a fall at home wasn't that old either thank's for sharing this ron..
RIP 🙏 Rod!
Nothing will ever beat classic rock.
indeed!!!!!
OMG DUDE Ron. What a treat!! I still love Foghat. Thank you.👍👍👍👍👍
I love that song at the beginning of your video!!!!!
Slow Ride … one of my all time favorites.
@@KimberlyLew Mine too💖
I’m so glad you did this video on Rod Price and Foghat. I’ve loved their music since a teenager, I grew up listening to their music. RIP Rod.🕊💐
You stay safe on your journey Ron.🙂💟
I graduated high school in "71" I loved Foghat!! Those were the best days!!
Brings back some good memories Ron, my first car was a beat up Mercury Comet and I "borrowed "my brother's Foghat 8 tracks among others to crank up in that thing. Thank you for paying respects and taking us back to a simpler time!
The first time I saw them in concert was in 1977 at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield Mass, the billing went, Foghat, Rush and the James Gang, and I've been hooked ever since. In 1988 I saw them after the split at a small place around Enfield Connecticut, and came home with the set list, drum sticks, a monogrammed guitar pick and traded my limited NASCAR Winston Racing hat that only us drivers received at Stafford Speedway for a Foghat '88 Tour hat, and still have them all.
I'm pleased that the band still performs today with new faces keeping all of the iconic music alive, I only hope to see them one more time while I'm still on this earth.
Thanks to all of the original members for giving us so many years of great music and memories, Rest in Peace my friends and perhaps I will get to jam with you all some day.
glad to help bring back the memories, thx for sharing, cool!
wow expected a fancier headstone for a rock star loved foghat growing up! thank you for this video!

That brings back some memories. I graduated High School in 1976! That was great times, great music and great fun!
Still have my 8-track "Foghat Live". Great video! So many memories listening to their music in my high school days. Loved the drone footage.
"Fool For the City" is such an iconic album.
Yes this brings back memories to me to Ron i remember these songs and loved them....I didn't know he had a heart attack and fell down stairs...how tragic Ron...so sad but he did bring us good music 🎵🎶.... awesome music from the 70s. Love my 70s music 🎵.....Rip Rod. 🙏😇....your music will live on.....thanks Ron for sharing.... and safe travels to you ..💖....foghat
I turned my computer on and the music I heard immediately reminded me of a beautiful young man who died of Leukemia. His mom told me but didn't want her son to know just yet. We were sort of going steady and my heart jumped a beat hearing this music. Funny how music can remind you of thing I did so many years ago. Thanks for the memories Ron.
A wonderful band, a wonderful memory of dancing ourselves to exhaustion to FOGHAT!!! High school &music in 77! Couldn't ask for much better! Thank You
Great music. So sad he died, and how he died. Very talented. Definitely had a sound that everyone loved and will continue to love.
There's my childhood there. The best music ever! Thank you for highlighting Rod and his music, His own quote made it sound like he lived to do what he loved. Rest In Peace, Rod. A part of you will live on and on.
Trips to grammas, jamming to this in our corsica, mom and dad dancing to this song.......

My 1st concert ever
FOGHAT AND THE OUTLAWS ! you're so cool Ron 😎
Great beginning with the drone. Thank you Ron.
I saw them in concert in about 1971. They were great.
One of best intro to any rock song was on “I Just Wanna Make Love To You” You brought a million memories back. I saw them in ‘71 ... they were beyond great. I am sure they contributed to my hearing issues. 🎶
I loved Foghat! I never knew that he died so young. I have Foghat on my computer, so I can listen anytime I want. Great video Ron, thanks. Rest in Peace Rod Price.
Saw Foghat at Spectrum way back when. Savoy Brown (another great band) were the 3 original Foghat members. Rod died on my birthday. Rest In Peace 🎶
This was Such A Awesome share💯Foghat🎶Rest In Peace Rod king of slide🕊✌🏻🕯🪶Thanks Sooo much RON.. I have such Beautiful memories with their music and concerts 🎶
You killed it with that intro. Excellent job
I was lucky enough to see the great Rod Price and Foghat back in the late 70s. Man what a show. Such great talent. RIP Rod.
Still on my playlist today! Love Foghat.
I loved the 70's because it was the melting pot of music. There was something for everyone. Rock, pop, blues, folk and country. You could find it all...... and we still had jukeboxes! Even today I like most music. About the only thing I'm not crazy about is opera. I do have Mario Lanza albums stashed away though because they belonged to my dad, and I just can't let them go. If I could return to a time in my life, it would definitely be the 70's. I badly need a do over. I do love the wording and guitar on Rod's stone!!
kudos to you. I respect you fur keeping your dad's lps🎸🎸🎸
Those first few beats, the head starts to bob....Slow Ride, Take it Easy!! Rest in peace Rod.
Growing up as a teenager in the 1970's, my second concert I went to, in order of their appearance, consisted of Ronnie Montrose, Foghat, & Black Oak Arkansas, at Bell Auditorium in Augusta GA. Foghat blew them all off of the stage. This was during their Fool for the City tour. I still have my 8-track tape. I believe that it is Rod Price holding the fishing pole on the cover of that album. I didn't get to see them again until the original members had re-united in the 1990's. Saw them at a little venue in Cincinnati, called Annie's. We were no more than 25 feet from the stage, & once again, they rocked the house down. They were no longer the long-haired skinny young men, but the music still had the power to pull you in & move you. Over the years, I've probably spent hundreds of hours listening to the band, especially while out cruising around at night as a young man. "When I was stone blue, Rock-n-Roll sure helped me through!" Thanks for the music.
Good one....yeah when you mention Foghat, it automatically takes you to the 70's. Great era.....
I was just listening to Foghat a few days ago. Thank you for this Ron, classic rock will never die.

My first concert! Foghat with Rod Price and Pat Travers with Tommy Aldrich!
What a show!
Hi Ron, i remember seeing Blue Oyster Cult, & Fog hat at the New Haven Coliseum in Conn. back in the 80's. Which u made a video recently at the Evergreen Cemetery. on Ella Grasso Blvd. Unfortunately they had to destroy the bldg. yrs. ago. I believe the ramp garage caved in, & i guess they didn't think it was worth fixing. I was pretty upset about that. I went to many concerts there back in the day. Judas Priest, REO Speedwagon, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, to name a few. Unfortunately Ozzy didn't bite the head off a bat at that event. Believe me, i was not upset over that at all. I had a lot of good times there. Fog hat was one of the great bands back in the day. They made some great music. RIP ROD God Bless. Thank you for covering this story, it brought back a lot of good times in my life.
He sounds great Ron. Going back some years. The 70s was definitely a time when blues/rock popped up. Thank you Ron. Your so right Ron what was written is very heartfelt. R.I.P Sweetheart Rod Price.
