Thanks Jim! It was a refreshingly large haul for that area, not sure if it was more the detector or the conditions but I'm not complaining. Glad I can take you with me on the adventures. Cheers :)
Glad to see you're not afraid to let your hair down :-) . All-in-all a great outing. Sometimes I wonder how things like that copper wire bundle get out there. But then I figure that it's just good that it was found and removed. So kudos to you on that! So a wonderful smile and coffee money for you! As always thanks for the tag along...cheers!
I see what you did there! lol. I find a lot of scrap copper in this region actually, not sure how much was marine use and how much is household waste but it is quite fascinating (and good for my scrap bucket too). Cheers!!
Thank you Mish, that machine is doing a lot better than I ever thought it would do, I know too that the one using the machine makes all the difference , you do your homework and research very well. Congratulations on the silver, and all the other coins. Oh yah, another golf ball when I least expect it. Love it!
The golf balls are really sneaking up on me lately, I've found at least one other golf ball since! I'm still yet to hunt anywhere near a course. 😂 Thanks so much Steve and have a great weekend!
Wow 1917 that is pretty old Hi Mish the new toy is working great coffee money lol cheers today was a coin day nice and some shades for the sun Xcalibur is awsome soon you will find a treasure with it goodluck to you Mish stay safe thanks for the video
I'm in love with the little poison bottle, that's the second time I've found a great small bottle sticking out of the dirt like that - another one was in an old park. Cheers mate!
Great hunt Mish, and you still found silver 🙌. Coffee money and then some!! A great adventure with the new detector. Keep up the good work. As always, stay safe and GOD Bless
Still on the silvers! I broke my streak again this week with a couple of dud hunts, but I'm confident I'll get back on that silver train again. Cheers George. :)
Hi Mish, I removed my control panel from my shaft and attached it to a belt made out of webbing that I wear around my waist. With just the weight of the shift I am able to hunt with the Excalibur for 8 hours. Great hunt.
Hi Kerrie! Great idea, I imagine that would've made a huge difference. I have a new shaft coming for mine hopefully this week, the control panel will be mounted in line with the outside of my forearm instead. Not quite as efficient as the hip mount, but handy for dive hunting :) Thanks for watching and happy hunting!!
HI Mish, I like the excal partly because it does not have a digital thingie that tells me all the details about the target. My mind gets to hang out with my ears while I search for targets. I get to look around and not be distracted or even captured by the "numbers". I agree that at the beach it is a good idea to dig almost all the targets. I pass on iron, most of the time. I bet you smile big when you get the low tone of a good gold target and its deep. The excal will make you dig deeper than you used to I bet. I will watch the rest of your video in a few minutes, I just wanted to chime in and say Hi. Oh, and Mish, it may be a good idea to bunch most of the extra cord to the coils up closer to the unit. when it is coiled down low, it can cause a magnetic field and interfere with your treasure finding. ok, Cheers Mish, smiling, George.
Thanks George, I agree that the lack of a display has allowed me to further appreciate my surroundings during a hunt. I can't wait for my carbon shaft to arrive so that I can use it more often, after a few days in a row I had to force myself to have a day off to recuperate! 😂 I'll adjust the cable as you suggested once the new shaft is here, I've been swapping between the long and short shaft a lot so I haven't been as fussy about the placement just yet. Have an amazing weekend :) Cheers.
Yay! So cool to see you enjoyin the excal! And soooo cool to hang out with you on those fabulous beaches!!! And even cooler to know that you are not slowin down...that i can expect to enjoy MANY MORE adventures with you in the near future! KEEP EM COMIN! 💘
The weather is slowly improving here as we approach Summer, and thanks to the awesome support from my viewers I've even been able to reduce my working hours to focus more on RUclips. Plenty more adventures to come for sure! Cheers :)
I'm liking the tones the excal produces, more like a 5000 or 7000 than a coin machine. My 3030 has driven me nuts with its imitation of a slot machine!! Call me old but I want a smooth signal that increases as the target gets closer and gives a tone that gives some indication of the target properties.
Isn't it just lovely? I tried to replicate a similar effect on the Equinox once, lowering the recovery speed and putting it in 50 tones.. it just wasn't the same. I can see that I'll be a lot calmer after using the Excal on a water hunt. Would love to give a CTX a shot someday. Cheers Peter :)
Hello from Knoxville Tennessee USA . I finally finished watching all of your videos and I liked them all. I think you like your new detector. I believe it finds a lot of coffee money LoL. I believe you will really enjoy it when you get it out in deeper water. It seams to work well on the beach like any detector you just have to get use to it and the tones it makes. Keep making the videos and I’ll keep watching them.
Hi there Steve, thank you so much for watching all my videos, that's amazing!! The Excal has done an extraordinary job for me so far, with most hunts being quite productive. I will keep listening and learning for sure. Cheers :)
Hi Mish, it looks like the Spalding golfball was made in the 1960's into the 1970's. It looks like the Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympics has one on display. Take care John
Thanks so much for the info, John! I had figured it'd been gone quite a while as it was really wedged (golfing pun unintended) into that ground. Possibly my first vintage golfball 😂 Cheers.
You are kicking butt with that Excal, Old pre-dec's and some coffee money to boot. Save that Lead and copper, copper is going ski high atm. Went for a dive today, got kitted up in scuba then realized I left my detector at home, how the hell did I do that. 😄😂 Awesome result's Mish, well done. cheers Brad.
Oh no!! 😂. Hope it was a nice dive, at least (assuming you kept on diving lol). I'm waiting for the day I do that, I've forgotten the headphones a few times but at least with the Excal they're permanently attached. Cheers mate. :)
@@DirtFishMish Yes I did continue with the dive and scored a heap of fishing line with a whole lot of goodies within and man there is still a bucket load of fishing line down there. Cheers Brad PS I reached 300 Whoo Hoooo
Definitely know that ugh feeling getting out of bed nowadays. Lol! Absolutely loving the quality finds you're getting with the Excal. So far it has definitely been worth the investment.
Absolutely, Anthony - in all fairness, I did have a ‘dud’ hunt with the Excal after this (I’ve made a RUclips short of the day which’ll appear sometime soon 😂), but on a whole I’ve got rather high hopes for the machine. Cheers! 😊
Cheers Dug! I like that a lot of the fundamentals carry across - high tones for high conductors, low for low, masking iron and so forth. It has made the learning curve a lot easier. Have a great weekend.
I do miss my Excalibur at times, they are a great machine. A very enjoyable video, my two favourites..beach and water hunts thanks for sharing it. Tomorrow I am off with a friend to do a lake hunt which may be a fool thing to do since we have had snow a few times already but...I cannot resist water hunts. Definitely will be a wader kind of day, the wetsuit will remain at home. LOL!
Look's like your on a winner Mish well done. I allways like to see that rubbish coming of the beach i know it gives me great satisfaction putting it in the bin a real enjoyable video thanks Mate
I'm the same Jeffrey, feels good to 'pay the tax' and take the trash with the treasure. Especially those hooks, I'd hate to see a child come across them instead. Cheers mate :)
The new machine seems to pick out the targets pretty good if anymore time will tell . Could be that time of year the way that sand has moved . Enjoy your coffee
Hi Mish. I really enjoyed your video again. In fact I have been out of phone signal for a week and yours was the first channel I watched when back. Apologies to my former favourite terra germania! lol. Keep doing what you are doing. My heart feels good watching your adventures.
That very poison bottle is what started my whole bottle digging/metal detecting hobby. I saw it sticking out of a cliff at my local beach nearly 6 years ago
Oh truly, that's awesome! This is the second ever intact bottle I've pulled from the soil in such a manner, the first wasn't all that many months ago and it was at the base of an old tree in a park. I'd love to try and dive for bottles someday if I can find an underwater dump. Cheers mate :)
Thanks Lisa, it was a cracking day out, would you believe I followed this up with a hunt full of almost nothing 😂 so you just never know when you'll be on a winner. Cheers!!
If I recall correctly, the shilling was the last I found of the common predecimal coins - I came across all the other denominations first before finally finding one. They’re a great little coin. I hope you find your first one real soon Roger 😊
Always a pleasure to leave a place cleaner than I found it, especially when it comes to removing the hazardous trash like hooks and sharp canslaw. Cheers mate!
Nice work Mish Shilling, Pennys and half your coffee money before you even hit the water. Could the Excal be producing more goods than the nox perhaps? Thanks for the shoutout ✌🏼
It did on this day, not sure if it was luck but I can't wait to try it at some of my special locations! Cheers mate, you made a great coffee/cocoa model. 📸
Thanks mate! I think I got super lucky on this day, that's the most targets I've pulled out of that patch in an extremely long time! I will of course head back several times just to make sure. 😂 Cheers!
Great hunt Mish, you hit the nail on the head at the beginning when you said it's best not known what your digging, I think those targets we let slide using the Nox are probably the best ones lol, I found more great things with my old machine that didn't give me information about the targets , The new Nox I'm swinging now although a great machine but maybe way too much false information thrown our way 😀.
Thanks Pat, I haven't heard from them since but hopefully they will come through one day. I have a couple of ideas in mind for them if/when they do. Cheers! :)
The bottle cleaned up nicely and is a great addition to my little collection. Excal did a ripper job today - sadly I can't say the same for every hunt, a subsequent beach video that I tried to film came up almost empty. 😂. Win some, lose some! Cheers Brett.
There definitely was, I went back over that area quite a bit off-camera, but I think I exhausted what had appeared in recent days. Got very very lucky on the day I think. Cheers mate!
Howdy Mish, You should have left that bottle on the beach. It does say "NOT TO BE TAKEN". Man, I make some bad jokes. That was a really productive hunt. An old silver shilling and 2X coffee money. The Excalibur 2 must be a good detector. How does it work underwater, can you hear the different tones? Surprised me that you had long hair. Enjoyed the video like I always do. Stay safe and happy, Mish.
That pun did cross my mind afterwards, I've missed a lot of pun opportunities lately - maybe I need you to tag along on these hunts to prompt me! 😂 The Excal had a magnificent run this day - I've broken the 100% silver strike rate though, as a recent hunt with it turned up not much at all. The permanently attached headset is waterproof and they're fairly clear underwater, sometimes a little hard to hear with a Nemo though. My hair is long but it is also super thick so I generally keep it in a ponytail as it annoys me 😂 Cheers Roelf.
The excalibur is definitely a different beast! A wonderful hunt with great results Mish... I'm going to guess that the little poison bottle might've contained mercurochrome (sp?) - it was bright red stuff dabbed onto our skun knees making for a very impressive looking wound back in the day :) - Deb
Thanks Deb, and I appreciate the theory on the bottle contents as well! I can only imagine the bragging rights that came with showing off a graze covered in that stuff. 😂 Have a great weekend.
If I'm 100% honest it's all sitting in a tub waiting to be tumbled!😂 I do the coins in large batches periodically, works out a lot more efficient than doing them after each hunt. Cheers!
Hey, Mish! Considering how many OLD coins you found with your Excalibur in an area that you have previously searched with your Equinox, does that make you want to go back to old hunting grounds and seeing if you might have missed a treasure or two? If they were all new coins being discovered today, I would guess they were recent drops, but with all those old coins....I don't know. Seems to me (a total noob) that the Excalibur was simply detecting more coins. That 1917 Shilling is pretty cool especially since it's your oldest Shilling, but that poison bottle...lol. Yes, each and every coin and treasure, or even those sunglasses, have a story about how they ended up where you found them. I'd really be interested to know how and why a bottle of poison was on the beach. Great video! And yes, I know what you're talking about......lol.
I think the Excal was picking up more in the water for sure. As for the dry sand... the area I hunted that day, I'm certain the Equinox would've also found all of those dry targets there as it was more a case of timing things well with the state of the erosion. Another commenter pointed out that the 'poison' may simply have been something not to be ingested and they suggested perhaps calamine lotion or similar. Maybe something to treat a beach injury? Who knows. Cheers!!
I would not recommend this detector for beginners, it is very heavy on land. Have a look at detectors like the Minelab Vanquish, Minelab Equinox, Nokta Makro Simplex+ and Nokta Makro Legend. There are other good brands as well so keep looking, but these are well supported with good customer service. Cheers :)
Did it again😀😀👍👍Double coffee and a few biscuits. Good job. Being able to watch without digging is great.
Thanks Jim! It was a refreshingly large haul for that area, not sure if it was more the detector or the conditions but I'm not complaining. Glad I can take you with me on the adventures. Cheers :)

Fun day Mish. Got some goodies with the x-cal! So happy for you! Dig those low growls and get the gold!!!!! As always a great video!!! 👍👍👍
I tried to, but all the low growls were small bits of aluminium on this day 😂. I'll keep listening intently! Cheers mate.

I found an old cobalt blue perfume bottle out of the 1800 Era it was a very cool find.
Oh that’s fantastic! I’ve only ever found a couple of pieces of cobalt sea glass, never an actual bottle unfortunately. The hunt continues. 😁
That is a flat back "casket" or "coffin" style poison bottle. Very cool find!
Thanks for the info, moofoot! :)
Loved the hunt Mish, always great to find a silver gets the heart racing, look forward to the next hunt keep safe :-)
Thanks Deb, how good is it to see that silver shining back at us :) Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Mantap lokasi nya kak 👍👍🇮🇩🇮🇩
Thank you, yes I really like this place :) Cheers!
Wow mish super👍👍👍😘😘😘😘
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey mish great video again !!! Was wondering if you could do a short video of you detecting in your backyard to see what you could find ???
I tried to film one once, Luke… but unfortunately I drew the short straw on yard finds. There’s nothing good here. 😂
@@DirtFishMish haha no worries at all yeah , some backyards are not worth searching in !!!
@@DirtFishMish possibly do a video at the river or a creek ??
You found enough coffee money two, who will you treat? great hunt as always!
If I'm 100% honest it's all sitting in a tub waiting to be tumbled!😂 I do the coins in large batches periodically, works out a lot more efficient than doing them after each hunt. Cheers!
Great day!
Thanks Steve, this is always my favourite type of adventure!

Yessss! Thanks for watching Tammy :)
Boa noite amiga tamo junto nos vídeos
Thank you!
Who knows. Cheers!!
I run my on auto. Can I ask what you run yours on when in the water hunting?
Where did you find your purple knobbs
They were potentiometer knobs and I got them from Amazon I think - not too expensive.
Cool video 😀
Thanks 😁
I'm from Algeria and Ilike your job
Thanks so much! :)
@@DirtFishMish you welcome 👍
❓A good detector for beginners thanks had a minelab SD22OO 20 yrs ago complex
I would not recommend this detector for beginners, it is very heavy on land. Have a look at detectors like the Minelab Vanquish, Minelab Equinox, Nokta Makro Simplex+ and Nokta Makro Legend. There are other good brands as well so keep looking, but these are well supported with good customer service. Cheers :)
Spalding Rocket golf ball was around mid 1970s......
I’d say that’s the oldest golf ball I’ve found then! Cheers for the info. 😊
nice video. Warm greetings from Germany
Thank you very much!
I forgot to add enjoy the coffee. You e earned it
Also have you had any problems with the sensitivity picking up your digging tool please help
Yes, it would pick up the scoop if I swung too close, but it was usually pretty obvious if it did that. I don't have this machine anymore. Cheers :)
Great vids
Cheers!!
