Imperial Beach is one of the few beaches that never have crowds. You can see the beach, walk on the sand, and smell the ocean. Just don’t plan on swimming. And wash your feet 🦶 after walking on the sand..😮😊
The beach is closed 300 days a year due to the raw sewage flowing from the Tijuana river a quarter mile down. On some days the smell is so bad you can't be outside without feeling sick. Nothwistanding those issue, IB is great!
My 1st and 3rd duty station in the Navy was in San Diego. I used to go there all the time. Like the young lady said not crowded or too many tourists. Very relaxing
When I was a kid in the mid-1960s, my family moved to IB. We lived half a block away from the beach. The big estuary could be seen from our backyard. But the town itself was a sleepy, beat up old beach town.
Wow it must of been way different back in the 60s. It's still a sleepy beach town but it looks like theyve made improvements and more people have started to come down to visit over the past couple years. Do you still live in San Diego?
As a local, I can tell you IB was much different in prior decades. It was basically just a navy town with a fully operational base in the 60s. Going into the 70's and 80's meth and biker gangs/skinheads became an issue. The 90s saw a lot of gang violence. The town began to become more gentrified in the 2000s but was still socioeconomiclly depressed. For a long time people avoided this city, but that kind of played in our favor in the redevelopment of the city which still provides that small town feel, where those homes from the 60s are now selling for $1 million.

"Steel Beach Beer". Wow- reminds me of when I was on the USS Independence in '93. It was called, "Steel Beach Picnic", but it was on the Arabian Sea at 110 degrees outside. The next day, the line to medical stretched to the fantail (half of the ship).
I like your show guys, I 'm going there for a hike and maybe a bike ride. Now I know where to hang out. Rio Grande your fine and a winning personality. Jaycation you nailed it. Keep it up. Mabuhay!
@@Jaycation yea I go back all the time, they’ve built it up a lot over the last like 5 years it’s crazy. Even the malls Chula Vista & Plaza Bonita have gotten big face lifts lol I mean yea they’re not in IB but those are pretty much the regular malls ppl in IB go to
I’m Movibg to Chula Vista in June from Northern Cali. One day I’ll be a very successful film Director and buy the Arc House in La Jolla 😁👌🏾 your channel and videos are amazing and so in-depth. I learned so much more than i thought I would. Thank you. Just Subbed and like 👍🏽
Thats amazing! Wishing you the best of luck! Can't wait to see you Oscar award winning film in your arc house! Glad the video provided useful info for you
I was told it was only available in September. They have other options but if you're specifically looking for the chile nogada, September 2020 may be the next time u can try it. Still a great taco place nonetheless!
I lived in IB for a year. It was cool, except I saw someone get stabbed at a street light, then 2 weeks later, I was telling my roommate about it and we were looking at the light from the balcony, and while we were discussing it, someone else got stabbed at the exact same spot.
Hi new friend! I’ll be moving there in the next few months! I won’t be buying right away but do you have any recommendations for finding an affordable rental for a single lady no kids only a fur baby? Thank you! 🎉🎊🎈🍾💗
I’m so glad I decided to watch this video before visiting imperial beach. Really helpful, thank you!!
Vedil have you been?? Ooh you should show us El Cajon in a video!!
