      @@ahmedmohmed4346 personally, i haven't seen any complaints about this mod from Peter the awesome designer guy.
      I have been able to get the definition and feel i want when entering and exiting gear changes. I haven't had to re adjust it in any way to keep it good. And, still feels nice and smooth when between gears.
      I think Thrustmaster should just realise that employing Peter would be the best decision they ever made ;)

    This is a really neat mod, awesome!
    I just have a question; in your Link it says the box includes one teflon pad. But in the video, you are using two?
    Does it mean i need to buy a second one or else i will end up with a gap on the other side?
    And how well does it work together with your sequential mod from your other video?
    Cheers

    Excellent Ideas with this mod! I think I'm going to try to print a version of it for myself. One question though- how do the spring ball screws screw into the mod? Do you have to cut threads into the print?

    • @petermakesthings7342
      @petermakesthings7342  4 года назад +1

      You force screw them into the plastic and it holds in place, can use some locktite to prevent them from getting loose, but I had no issues so far, just need to pay attention the first time to keep them straight, or u could use threaded inserts and push the inside after heating up with soldering iron

    hi peter ! you're work is awesome, but have you the raw file with out the hole for the pads, because i found the perfect pad, the teflon pads of a mice, but it's 1mm thick so i haven't the possibility to fit in your model. so i need to make another one for this spécifique pads, i can resend you after and link you the pads of teflon i use and a vidéo of the résult for sure. thank's in advance for your response

      @petermakesthings7342  3 года назад +1

      hi Alexis, if you already have the mouse teflon pads just get a piece of rubber and glue it between the 3d printed piece and your teflon pad, will solve the problem and be much cheaper :)

  • @PhrozenN
    @PhrozenN 4 года назад +1

    Hi there, love your mod, I printed it in PETG for my th8a and it works awesomely. The PTFE pads were damned expensive though, but maybe you could use mouse glides instead? They're cheaper and thinner than the pads you linked on thingiverse

    • @petermakesthings7342
      @petermakesthings7342  4 года назад

      the advantage of using these pads is that they're rubbered and therefore the fit doesn't have to be perfect (whether that's my design or slight variances due to people using different printers), one could though use the mouse glides and put them on a piece of rubber, would have the same advantages and cheaper.

    • @petermakesthings7342
      @petermakesthings7342  4 года назад +1

      @@brockj1545 for seq mod I didn't want to use the grease because it would get the whole shifter shaft messy, and so I reversed the design so the plungers slide over teflon piece of TH8 stick, now for this mod, because it's all hidden inside and you don't really need to ever remove it, using the grease was not a big deal, and to answer your question - yes, absolutely no issues after wks of use (as you can see on the video I added a pretty generous amount of grease :)

      I'd go to a 3d printing fb group or a forum and ask if someone living close to you could make one, it's using very little plastic so it's cheap to print, I don't sell these cause can't even keep up with the demand for quick release mods

      there's a version that enables you to use mouse sliders with some rubber glued under it. You can search for other designs on thingiverse that are made fully out of plastic, but these create too much friction for my liking.

    You really need to partner up with someone that can produce some of your designs. Not having a 3D printer and the hassle of sourcing parts is enough to put some people off (myself included). I'd happily pay for a well thought out design like this.
    I'm curious. Do you own a TSS handbrake/shifter, and if so do you have any ideas for improving the tactile feedback of the sequential mode? I've held off buying one because of the reportedly poor feedback when shifting and I'd probably spend more time in sequential mode than handbrake mode.

      re 2 - I have it, but tbh I don't know why people are complaining so much about it, you don't have a 'click' when changing gears yes, but travel is short and you hit a metal bar when at the end of movement so that a pretty strong feedback :D I might do something for it, but not anytime soon as I'm working on a number of complex projects

    Just received the mod today and tested it a bit, honestly I'm quite disappointed. The design and fit seems pretty good, except the zip tie that you need to let loose elsewhere it'll kill the feel on one side.
    The real problem seems to be spring ball screws, which adds very little resistance, there is no real mechanical feel, it just feels like without the mod but with a little bit more resistance.
    I really like the fact the mod not overpriced unlike others, but if you are looking for feeling more than price I think other mods would probably do the job better
