I was having trouble deleting the constraints for the circle @5:44, it would delete the entire sketch. If you select the constraint and right click you can select 'Delete Coincident' from the menu
@@jeffbrazill764 Make sure that your first component (the initial square washer) is set to 'not visible'. Otherwise, the sketches of the two components will be shown overlayed in a weird way.
Hey Kevin! I wanted to thank you for adding just a few words to the action (whether intentional or not) in this video. For example, at 4:56 your phrasing was entirely complete and I did not have to watch the video closely to fill in any missing actions...i.e. 'use the Paste New feature when right-clicking on the top level assembly'. Yes, for those that have been at it a while this is obvious...but I just wanted to give you some kudos for your instruction being clear, concise, and complete. Thanks again.
Perfect as always Kevin! I've gotten quite a bit on my f360 journey but embarrassingly my Achilles heel are the darn constraints so need to tackle them from now on
If you are having trouble finding seeing the constraints @5:44, make sure that you "unfix" the circle portion of the sketch via the lock icon in the constraints section.
I followed your steps exactly, but my constraints are not in the same order as yours. You delete the first constraint, but for me the first constraint highlights the line from the bottom left to the top right. For me, It is the second from the left. Why is this?
Why do my sketch dimensions not maintain just outside the shapes boundaries? When I resize the square in this video for example, my left constraint (the 100, 150, 200 etc), the physical location of that dimension doesn't move with the shape update. So it's sometimes inside the shape, if I go from 100 to 200. Or, it could be way off to the left and outside normal viewing area when I go from 200 back to 100. Having the hardest time finding how to make it relative to the outer edge of the object.
Great video, Thank you! Removing that constraint for the circle kept getting me, because for me it was the third symbol from the center. Is there is an easier way to identify which coincident constraint is selected, when there are a few coincidents on the same spot?
I believe they're always listed in the order they're created, from left to right. You can also select the constraint and it will highlight the geometry. Sometimes that isn't helpful if two or three of them are only doing a sketch point though.
is there an option to learn the advaced stuff? i do boatbuilding so my shapes are ralatively complicated and i would like to get proper training one to one.
@5:28 why does it seem like the listed 4 constraints seem to pop up randomly when trying to select the circle? i press the outer circle and the center point. cant seem to get it to pop up every time though 🧐 Selecting the outside of the circle and then hovering over the center point seems to be the way.
Omg this took me like 20 mins! Was clicking like mad trying to make them appear! Finally got it by finishing the sketch and reopening and clicking just off centre of the middle circle.
@2:14 - when trying to replicate the Equal Constraint step, getting a "Failed to solve. Please try revising dimensions or constraints." Any suggestions?
There is likely another constraint that was automatically applied. Double-check that you don't have any other constraints that would restrict it from making the sides equal in length. If you can share your file, I can take a look.
Hi Kevin, Thanks for the great tutorials. I've been following the instructions step by step, but I'm having trouble with the coincident constraints not showing up when I click on the circle. Additionally, I'm unable to move the circle as demonstrated in the tutorial. Could you please assist me with identifying the issue? Thanks in advance for your help.
I had the same problem. I simply reverted to the step before removing the constraint, remove it again and then with "right click" and selecting "Move/copy" I was able to move the circle.
Hey, I had the same issue. After a while though, I noticed that by hovering the mouse cursor over the center of the circle, the constraints would appear.
This is a great series, and you do a great job with it, but if I'm being honest, this episode is a bit of a let down. didn't get to see anything new created, and sort of just rehashing what we learned earlier in the series. eagerly awaiting next episode.
The original series is still available. I was very transparent that this remake one was not going to be released as fast as I prioritize supporting my students, etc. You can support the channel here: buymeacoffee.com/pdo

is there some way to prevent this behavior? Why does it seem to work for him with just the delete key?
Thank you!
I'm not getting this "Delete Coincident" from the menu when right-clicking on the constraint.

even for the most basic concepts, I still learn something new every time I watch one of your videos.

As always TOP QUALITY. You are an awesome teacher!! Thank you so much for this!!
Great video Kevin! You covered several things that have been holding me back on using Fusion 360 efficiently.
Glad to hear that. Happy learning! :)

for years I've been doing two things wrong and you just solved them. thank you!
Happy learning and thanks for watching! :)
Appreciate your motivation to teach us!
Very informative! Looking forward to further tutorials. Thank you sir!
bro really really thankyou for ur playlisst :)
Hi guys, I want to ask 4:37 procedure can be taken by the "protect" command? thank you
Great lesson, I still struggle to get a spline line fully divined. Would be great if you could make one about that.

I didn't know about the dangerous of sketch mirroring, which until now I've used extensively ! Note taken.
Excellently presented fundamentals.
Do you know when day 17 will be posted?
Fusion 360 power is in sketches, parameters and the time line. The time line capabilty is really a life safer.
I can't move the circle after deleting the same constraint you selected. I've already tried deleting any of the constraints but nothing happened.

Could you please do more videos of breaking down constraints?
The next lesson will show how to use each constraint type. Will try to do more as well 😃

I do offer 1 on 1 tutoring. More here: productdesignonline.com/1-on-1-fusion-360-sessions/
However, I am booked up for the next few months.
