Thank you very much. I just picked one up at the thrift store. Didn't know you needed to take off the cover for the stars. I though it was a little dull. Now, it's much brighter. Going to have to open it up to see if I can fix the stars because they're not rotating but I can hear the motor.
Please don't open it. I did that to cut off the wires to the motor so the battery would last longer. It's doable but very difficult. The whole thing kind of falls apart when you disassemble it. I did disconnect the motor and now my stars are stationary but the battery lasts much longer. I just wouldn't do that again.
@@skywind007 Thank you for the heads up. I'm very mechanical. In a worse case scenario, the thrift store has another one down there. I think I paid $2.50 for the one I got that came with a single disc. The other had no disc. So mine, the motor is spinning with no rotation, I'll be careful.
That was a great video! It answered all the questions I had about this product. I was wondering if I should get it for my nephew who loves the planets, now I am sure that I want to get him this. Thanks again
I have two. I use the stars to fall asleep. I modified it so the stars don't move. I did this only to extend battery life. I don't recommend doing this in hind sight. Reassembling this thing was a circus act.
@@Nellywellumagree from the pictures I've seen hence not thinking it's there but I wonder if there are other pictures; either there are and it's in there or there aren't and it's not. The heart shape image isn't in the slides.
The blue one is Uranus which has nothing on it bar some clouds. The orange slide is: Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune. Pluto isn't on any of the slides unfortunately.
You're welcome. By the way, I use this projector every night to fall asleep. I add music with an app called BetterSleep. Incredible. Thanks for watching.
I don’t know why but this video made me laugh. Him saying “ I don’t know what that is or doesn’t think that’s part of the solar system” or “ That’s nice”.😂😂
@@dreamrelaxation7239 I meant it in a good way. It’s hard to tell through texts. It was not by any means meant to be mean. It’s a good review I was saying that after a rough day it made me feel better is all.
I've been enjoying it. I bought a second one. I modified the first one I bought. I cut the electric motor wires that makes the stars spin. This way the battery lasts longer. Since the real skies don't rotate nearly as fast, it's no problem. I don't recommend anybody doing this though. It was extremely difficult to put everything back together after I disassembled it.

My wife bought this for our four year old . He loves it . I wish the disk would rotate on its own .

The first disk are Jupiter's moons I think. Pretty sure I saw Europa and Ganymede. (Sp?)
Was wondering if it was Ceres, Huamea, Makemake and Eris, maybe Pluto is on this slide.
@@harrietconde2539 Pretty sure Pluto has a big white heart shape on it ^_^

can't wait till the night I just bought it myself
Can you buy extra slides for discovery planetarium projector?
No.
The blue one is Uranus which has nothing on it bar some clouds.
The orange slide is:
Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune.
Pluto isn't on any of the slides unfortunately.
Thanks for the info. If I'm not mistaken, Pluto was downgraded to a dwarf planet. They may have left it out for that reason, I don't really know.
Suddenly mine stopped working. What can i do?
Hello, it will be nice to have some type of facts on the wheels.
Thanks for the video
It didn't include any facts or info on the slides. Only the moon, earth, sun, saturn, and jupiter are obvious. The rest are a bit of a mystery.
I’m so excited to get this for my Secret Santa person!
Mine was not clear like this!
The projector has a focus adjustment. It's the dark wheel where the word projector is written.
This toy is expensive and the images are small. If you point to the ceiling you can barely see the details.
You can focus the image with the focus wheel. That makes a big difference. I bought a second one of this projector because I really enjoy it.
The planets etc can be 2ft across and still focused. I'm only upset there's no pluto and the legs are quite weak
It's not expensive
Thank you for the thorough review!

Not worth for the dollars they sell for.
