- I usually don't make build guides, but I had a lot of requests for my Diablo 4 bone spear necromancer build during my live streams. This build is still a work in progress, as I don't follow guides myself as I enjoy making my own way through games like Diablo 4. I may make another video if this build continues to do well into higher levels.

Since watching you play video games for the last 6 months or so I’ve learned a bit about how they’ve evolved since I last played. I actually understood much of what you were explaining in this video and found it very interesting and informative. It’s amazing how, if you know what you’re doing, you can put together a build such as this that strengthens you as you kill enemies. Well done gamer. Well done.

Still struggling with essence. Haven't had a single umbral ring even at lvl 67. Used all my obols on rings all week with zero luck.
I forgot to put this in the video, but for my book of the dead I sacrifice everything. defenders > 15% non-physical resistance, shadow > max essence + 15, iron golem > 30% increased critical strike damage. I did not show my paragon boards because I had this functioning BEFORE anything major paragon related. If you're curious as to what boards I'm currently using: starting board > blood drinker, bone graft > sacrificial. I just started my third board, went with scent of death and only have 2 points in it at the moment. At the time I made this video, I didn't have anything valuable to the build on them. Since then I've found an amulet with Aspect of Serration and another ring with Aspect of Exposed Flesh. The former really helps with damage, the latter helps with essence recover even further.
It would be nice if you could upload a pic of your paragon board and your glyphs. I want to make my necro also strong because mine is´nt rn... Thanks for the cool tip vid :D

I run basically the same build and throw about 1.2mil to 1.5mil depending on how many corpse I have on the field, I nuke everything and have been carrying my clan since the start. Super fun glass cannon build 10/10 recommend. I never run out of essence what you have going on now is good but there’s a couple more aspects that’ll help yelp you pretty much double to triple your damage. Look out for the ossified essence aspect.

Bro just got an +3 essence umbral aspect, switched to this build with the boots and what a game changer. I ERASED the Butcher in a NM 30 dungeon when he jumped me. Loving Necro again

Just brought the game and everyone wants me to go necro since I’m used to playing the underdog and somehow coming out on top. Let’s see if this build will help.
My build is super similar! I got deathless visage headset at like level 54. SUPER lucky. I'm easily pushing nightmare dungeons much higher than my level with this build. Fire dude!
With ur essence gen, CE seems wasted. Same with the points in grim harvest. I recommend checking out iron maiden with its first point for essence gen as well as the next point for the HP when u kill mobs affected by iron maiden. Pretty solid for burst essence and HP gen. You can even tap into the 9% dmg passive vs cursed mobs.
The essence regen is definitely needed in high tier nightmare dungeons, trust me
So basically it’s the same spear build as everyone else’s, nice!
btw you can just use decrepify to proc the umbral ring. It slows enemies so counts as a CC
Bone prison doesn't cost essence, nets you a ton more essence and is easily stackable with corpse tendrils. Decrepify works, sure, but isn't as effective.

Been playing Bone Spear since the server slam and have been loving it ever since. I truly believe that Crit Rate, Damage, and Vulnerable Damage is the trifecta of the build. Been looking for rings with both Vulnerable and Crit/Bone Crit damage for a while and it is truly monstrous already at this point. On the hunt for a two handed sword with Crit damage, Bone Crit damage, and Vulnerable with at least 701 item level.
I think I have a sword that fits that description if you’d like to trade for some gold :)

@@andy6302 yeah i got one 746, 35 crit strike, 30 crit strike w bone, 34 dmg to close enemies 54 all stats, 45% vulnerable. It’s untouched so you could prob re roll the 54 all stats

Very nice looking build. What are the must have requirements to make this build work at basic level? I'm 52 on tier3 running minion build with bonespear as primary damage dealing element alongside army of dead. honestly man the only MUST haves are splintering aspect (on a 2h sword for best dps but im running wand and focus doing fine) and aspect of the umbral on a ring. Build works fine for anything t3 with just that, but adding more will make it feel insanely powerful.

Bro we’re using the same build except I use decrepify over corpse explosion! We already have plenty of essence regen and decrepify works very well with aspect shared misery! Use a scythe instead of sword if you get temerity, and swap to sword for bosses and ofc pop pot, blood mist, bone prison, tendrip decrep and then fire away! It shreds bosses, just like you I shredded the butcher, except mine was 10 levels above me 😂 also disobedience on chest would be better . The corpse tendril aspect is better on amulet and for gloves serration aspect for ossified expense. Your pants for now work perfect as a replacement for temerity but that’s unique so it’s a different story! The boots you can 100% replace for a good pair of boots with shared misery. I helped 3 lvl60-80’s through a lvl50 nm and the boss died stupidly fast! Keep with it though the build is amazing im just running without an ugly as I’ve got perks barrier and dmg reduction while fortified, only ever replace that help when you get a Shako ! 😉

yea nice tip on the weapon thing and makeing corpse explotion dot... i had that weapon since lvl 48 and was bumed it was for wrong build :P
Ring of the Umbral simply will not drop for me. I've opened many Helltide mystery chests and ring chests, and spent many obols on rings only. I have yet to see that aspect appear on a ring even once. My bone spear build is doing very well overall, but not being able to get that key piece for essence regeneration has been frustrating.
What level and world tier? Got mine on wt4
@@stevegoudreau7973 Level 61 now, world tier 3. The aspect can be acquired from a dungeon from early on, so it shouldn't be a world tier 4-only drop. The problem is that at its lowest level (the dungeon imprint) the essence gain from it is so low as to make it useless. For now I've put the Iron Maiden curse into my rotation for the 5 essence per cursed target, and also picked up 3 essence per kill from the bone-themed paragon board.
I've been using mothers embrace as a poor man's umbral, and it works alright
What would be helpful to me is to know what to use when you are around Level 55-60. I see lots of these killer builds for people that made it to Tier IV, but I don't have access to those ancient items yet.
This is the same build I used at that time as well. I did Helltide events to get the items I have!
Corpse tendrils stuns enemies, you can get aspct that increses dmg to stunned enemies... i use it now early on because it gives me a huge damage potential. And i dont have any other legendaries.

I feel like adding the corpse tendril bonus damage aspect you have on your gloves is better on the scythe.

Im level 34 right now and tried to build Minnion build and I wasn’t sure what am I doing.
Thanks to your video I learned a few things about the game.
And changed almost everything and now I have a better time.
Why is the intro different skills vs later in the video?
Doing a pretty similar thing, but also doing bone spirit. Been hitting 2-300k spears and hit a 6 mil bone spirit at level 71. Playing in tier 4 since level 60 and it’s been so god damn easy. IK necro is supposed to fall off in endgame, but it’s going to be fine
Doesn’t really feel like it falls off, I’m throwing 1.2-1.5mil spears and run through 60-70 dungeons. I also don’t even think running anything above a 45 is even necessary so I’d say bone necros in a good spot
@@frustratedlemur yeah at level 76 now. 13 mil spirit and 1.2 mil spears. The game is still aggressively easy

It's not really a necro. Necromancer should have minions otherwise it's just a sorcerer. The minion build is just not that viable end game and that's why people complain.

Ok every build rely on aspects in certain pieces of gear so I've haven't seen a build video yet that I would even attempt to try because I don't have none of the gear or none of the aspects that they ask for
Such is the way of this game. This is why you can imprint aspects at the occultist, and why dungeons give aspect for you codex to imprint.
@@theJOSHfeed sure but when u cant beat the dungeons cuz u need the aspects to do more damage and have more survivability, what's the point
@@charlescouch2785 Do helltides. They specifically exist to help you get gear. If you are struggling, then perhaps you need to drop a world tier and do helltides to put together a build.

id reccomend in any further videos you lower the ambience track. like when mixing give urself some headroom for levels. periodically its competing with the sound of your voice which imo is detracting from the point of the video. no offence meant much love. ty for the build help.
Would this work on a level 50 Necro? Really need a new build.
I started putting this build together at level 47, so absolutely! You just need to find the main parts to make it work
kind of hard cause you really need to try to get a bunch of crit strike chance or the build will fail.
As long as you get Splintering, Serration and Grasping Veins it will work - after that all you need is stuff to fix the essence issues with stuff like Umbral & Penitent Greaves combo. Corpse Explosion and/or Basic Skill ain't really that necessarry and can be swapped out for Decrepify/Bone Prison.
Also, don't neglect your defenses - Disobedience and Shielding Storm aspects make it one of those builds that do not fear the suppressor elites ;)
And yes, you need 100% crit or it will feel super bad.
How do you make it that the chill gets u essence?
anyone else having serious essence issues on low lvl? as no matter what i do my bonesplinter essence regen cant keep up with my spear usage
That’s just how it is at low levels. Once you have ring of the umbral at a high roll with band of exposed flesh or something similar your essence regen will be great
It's the minions that are underpowered. It takes a lot to make them somewhat viable.

hey, If I have a weapon with +600 more damage but crappy stats will this outscale a weaker weapon with all 4 good stats?
That’s very dependent on the build and on your spot in the game. If you’re leveling rn then I would say to use the +600 weapon, but if you’re approaching the endgame and trying to put a build together then I would say to use the weapon with better stats.

When u fight the boss u say u have to get a corpse....ok, but for what. what do you do with this corpse, corpse explosion... tendril ???

You need corpses for corpse tendril, that's the key thing. Explosion is also good to get high damage with certain paragon perks.
Why u using down in the Skilltree the passiv Skills for Minions? u dont have Minions? hopefully u can aswere me
If you're talking about "Stand Alone", read carefully. It rewards you for not having minions, just like my build.
Hey not sure if you can help me out but for some reason my build cannot do the damage I need it to do. I am level 81 and have never had a crit above 1m im in discord and my build is stronger than half of the other necros but theres level 73s with have my stats hitting for 1.5m damage. I have almost 10k attack power and 260% base crit damage right now. The highest I can crit for is 600-700k but normally 250-300k. Ive compared my build to videos and everything is similar there shouldnt be anything holding me back.
The first thing that stands out to me is the possibility of lacking vulnerability damage. Stack that as much as you can and you'll see your crits doing more because of that on top of it. If you already have that, then I'm not sure.
@@theJOSHfeed Yeah its not my highest stat I have 60% vulnerable damage, but also have 260% crit damage 190% bone crit damage and almost 600 intelligence.
@blakehamilton3522 I think it may be best to make a couple sacrifices for some more vulnerability damage. That may make the difference to those damage spikes!
@@theJOSHfeed Yep im going to try it I have very consistent hits for 200-500k but with my attack power approaching 10k those aren’t the numbers I need to be seeing. Ive also been having the issue that as I level up instead of solo clearing T40s ive been pushed back to T36s due to enemy resistance increasing and my damage remaining the same even though ive been swapping gear and stats most my gear pieces are above 790-820 now most with max rolls.

my aspecto fumbral is always giving me 1 resource regen ... is there a way to improve that aspect?
Aspects from the codex of power will always have the lowest possible roll. To get a higher roll, such as 3 or 4 on Umbral, then you have to drop a ring with that higher roll. Hope that helped
does stand alone passive dmg redu even work when u dont have a minion out? if not those r 2 free points somewhere else
"Increases Damage reduction by 18%, REDUCED by 2% for each active minion"
The name gives you a hint that the skill is all about not having minions.
I had the butcher 14 levels higher than me killed him in less than 10seconds

i need to post my bone spear. hitting over a mil with one hit
missing a key aspect with the ossified bone crit strike damage increase. that will change your life
and have increased dmg wit a barrier on and bone crit strike regen essense and the unqie pants that give u barrier for heals and your build is clearing 50+ nightmare dungeons easily
Whats heartbreaking is that i have everything except the boots and the non codex version of an umbral role. So after 4 spears im out of essence and its absolutely destroying my motivation
Here are some alternatives that worked for me:
* aspect of the embalmer (chest or legs): consuming a corpse has a [20-30]% chance to spawn a blood orb
* potent blood (ring): blood orbs grant [10-20] essence
+
* exposed flesh (ring): Lucky hit 10% chance to generate [30-50] essence when hitting vulnerable enemy with bone skills
OR
* torment (ring): crit with bone skill increases essence regen by [20-30]% for 4 seconds
The blood orb generation pairs well with Blood Drinker glyph (which you're probably using anyways), which makes up for def loss of whatever aspect you drop on chest or legs. You just spam corpse explosion then dash through them and get a giant shield + full essence.
Getting the +4 essence on kill from paragon board & rolling for essence cost reduction also really helps (can get bone spear below 20 essence cost).

@@km_production92 yeah they seem rare. I've only gotten exposed flesh once and it's a shit roll, but still works well enough alongside the essence on kill nodes in Bone Graft board. You really have to miss like 4 or 5 spears in a row to hit 0 resources. BS crits for around 2 mil at lvl 80 (800+ ilvl) even with unoptimized aspects, so everything is a one shot anyways.
Go into your paragon board and pick up the nodes that refund essence on kill. It’s a game changer. Also pick up the aspect that increases regen by 30% on crit. See. It drop mainly on random rings. I don’t use anything to regen my essence anymore and only tap corpse for the 6 second buffs.
