In this video, I demonstrate how to create a gadget that allows you to read books in the dark and free yourself from the need for a reading lamp. Using a Plexiglas sheet and some LED lights, I've created this amazing gadget. Watch the video to learn how to make your own DIY Night Book Reader Reading Light and enjoy reading anytime, anywhere, even in the dark!
Note that this light is rechargeable and you can use it portable for hours.
This Book Reader is very light and perfect for travel.

I guess I haven't really watched a lot of people make these reading lights...
I've started using silicon sheathed wires, and it's been a game changer! No more melted plastic when soldering connectings.
This is what perfection looks like
By adding series resistors above and below the potentiometer's voltage divider (so the feedback reference can only be within a certain range), you could limit the output from 9-12V only with boost converter. Adding the buck converter is easier & more convenient though. Overall, awesome work!

I have one question, are you not worried about capacity imbalance in the batteries and overcharging/undercharging cells? Those lipo packs can get pretty upset without protection in my experience.
The charging module has protection against excessive discharge of batteries.

This is amazing! I never quite understood this acrylic property of handling light like that, if you painted the edges black, would it still work and reduce the light bleeding outside of the edges of the device, I mean farther away from the book pages it is being used on to reduce the chances of bothering other people trying to sleep near you for instance?

what is the use of the buck converter? why boost the voltage and right after that buck down?
Voltage regulation, the voltage of the battery drops as you use it, boosting it to a higher voltage to compensate for the drop, them using a buck converter to revert to 12 volts reduces voltage drop
@@YeetTheAn3On the batterys are in parallel, so 2.50V up to 4.25V extreme. thus boosting to 12V will yield stable voltage of 12V same if oosted to 5V. two converters in series is no good idea since they can oscillate, effiiciency goes down without good reason

Why put an additional buck converter after the booster? Why don't you adjust the fixed resistor in the feedback voltage divider? Then the maximum output voltage would be maximum 12V 🤔
bcz that module can go higher then 12v so he installed another module so if someone rotate that nob after 12v. voltage will not increase and LED will not burn

به جای ماژول کاهنده نمیشد ولتاژ رو روی ۱۲ تنظیم کنیم بعد مقاومت مولتی ترن رو اندازه بگیریم به اندازه همون یه مولتی ترن دیگه بزاریم؟
یا یه مقاومت باهاش سری کنیم.
در ویدیو ها سعی دارم همه چی ساده و قابل درک باشه. ممکنه اونی که شما میگید عملی باشه ولی برای همه قابل درک نخواهد بود.

What is the total cost
why used two modules?
when u can use only one MT3608 Module to increase the voltage to 12v??
In that case monimum voltage will be about 3v. Step up dc-dc can't set voltage lower that input.
In the video, I have explained that the voltage of MT3608 Module is higher than 12 volts and in this project we do not need a voltage higher than 12 volts and it causes damage to the LED.
