Don't forget the guy who threw a surefire win with Quest Rogue to value trade until he lost. With Quest Rogue, after completing the quest pretty early against a slow deck.
-2 Blessing of Kings - Lay on hands -2 Primordial Drake - Silver Sword +2 Wild Pyro +2 Corpsetaker + Spellbreaker + Crystal Lion. Six cards changed used to be enough to be a different mage archetype. Not sure the state of the game with regards to that now.
Rather curt, but I don't entirely disagree. I like HS, but I don't play it because I'm just bad at it. Could I get better with time and energy? Sure, IF I HAD ANY.
He's serious. Sure bad and good luck can happen in the expanse of a few games, but it'll take more than just a few to climb to legend. With that many games under your belt, what deck you're running and how you pilot it becomes a larger factor than luck.
You are wrong on one thing though. Most people don't get to legend because of the amount of time played each month. Every "good" deck I play ends up having around 55-70% win rate. Given enough games, I should reach legend, but the amount of games is insane, and it pretty much resets every month. So no I don't think every person that ahsn't reach legend is bad.
TheHappy115 While I agree with you for the most part, I 110% don't believe aggro decks are the problem. When I took ranked seriously (only got to rank 3 but still) I thought I was going to pop a blood vessel against Inner Fire Priest and every Control/Combo Mage. A large variety of decks are a problem purely because of rng and that's what's infuriating.
If you have over a 65% winrate it takes about 60 games to get past where you were before the reset. I don't think an average of 3 games a day is an insane amount, and that will easily get you to legend after a couple months.
while that is true, his statement was in the context of a guy asking for advice being stuck at rank 1. if youre rank 1 you probably have the time to get to legend lol
Reaching Legend is not hard at all, it's just time consuming. The steps are always the same. 1. Find a good deck online 2. have a >50% winrate (guaranteed by step by 1) 3. keep playing until Legend The reason 50% of the playerbase is rank 15 is because most people don't even bother with the grind and just want to either play casually or have fun with Arena/ dungeon run.
The silence isnt the issue, but yeah, I don't like his argument. he said something along the lines of there being many different paladin decks and tirion isn't in any of them. ...yeah, many different paladin decks. and by that you mean 3, all aggressive and too fast to bother with tirion, even if silence wasn't the problem. Odd paladin, murloc paladin, and even paladin. yeah, technically a good variety in deck types, just not deck goals. They all do the same thing. make a bunch of dudes and rush the enemy down. So yeah, I don't think tirion is bad, I think control paladin is bad. if control paladin was good, tirion would be int he deck probably. Depends on other factors as well such as what cards are making control paladin viable...they might push tirion out. But my point stands that the decktype itself is garbage. As for silence, I mean theres also a lot of weapon destruction. If they can kill tirion and play an ooze or harrison at the same time, then all a silence would do is do 1 extra damage (the divine shield) and get rid of taunt. a silenced tirion, unless you are in trouble and really needed that taunt, is still a 6/6. Unless the minion is, like, lynessa, silencing big minions doesnt mean anything unless you can kill it as well, or are in such good position that you can ignore it. but if thats the case, you would probably win anyway.
Hahonryuu mostly agree with everything you said, but didn't feel like typing it out. However a 6/6 silenced tyrion that you just spent 8 mana playing against an aggro deck means you probably just lost the game to repetitive face damage. You're right about all the weapon removal being a big problem too.
Well, Hooked Reaver is a pretty awesome card too which was not run last expo. He means "bad" more like "unviable". Currently, there is a LOT of silence and weapon destruction... Add to that, that this meta is terrible for control and midrange. Cubelock dominates most of those decks, instantly turning them unviable.
Tenshi Kanashisa I would agree with you if it seemed like he was talking about viability. It seemed more like he was saying that Tyrion isn't good in general tho despite what the meta is.
I once watched Trump attempt to hit legend with a mage elemental, and fell short even with a positive attitude and all the calculations. Pay for the best deck of the season, have ultimate RNG, dedicate 10 hours a day, and you too will hit legend.
I have Tirion rated as the BEST card in the entire game! There is so much you can do with that card like bring him back with one health, you can steed him, you can kings him, etc etc etc........ Yes Tirion has been the best card in the ENTIRE game ever since he was created!
0:43 I find that cubelock is not that much of a problem. As long as you don't over commit to the board and can draw at least one silence you can do really well.
2 questions for peeps in the comments: 1) Why is even paladin considered good at all especially compared to Odd? Even paladin gets a turn 1 play then their hero power becomes meh, since most decks are low cost minions anyway their hero power isn't much whereas with ODD they get TWO 1/1's rather than just a single 1/1 2) What deck did people take into the Tavern Brawl out of curiousity? I haven't played yet due to work but I locked in Elemental Mage
Another reason I think even pally is so good is flexibility. 1 mana hero power means you basically have 1 mana add 1/1 stats to the board. Also the overall power level of call to arms increases. Instead of getting some 1 drops and 2 drops you get all 2 drops which are generally better than 1 drops.
case 1: the guy at rank 1 didn't play enough, in which case you called him bad for not wasting all the time of his life on a basic digital card game case 2: the guy did play a lot of matches, in which case you are calling someone bad who is retaining a 50% winrate at the highest possible rank before legend (where all the netdeck meta tryhards are, no experiments, just grinding for legend). In other words, he didn't play enough. case 3: he is bad, in which case, how did he get past rank 5 again? it's not that even paladin offers much player choice... you play a card or play a card and press the button. well I guess he didn't play enough then, cause if he got to 1 he can get to legend just as easy. conclusion: players who don't play enough or get good enough win streaks are bad because these decks around at the moment are obviously highly skill intensive decks. like draw-call-to-arms paladin. or press-button-paladin. or draw-cube-warlock. or play-taunt-druid. or bounce-the-same-minion-rogue. wait... I remember you failing at quest rogue and saw you building a bad draw-call-to-arms-paladin, so doesn't that make you pretty bad too?
Tirion is still very much played at the time I am posting this. the highest win rate deck on HSreplay right now has Tirion. Tirion doesn't seem to be essential since not all list run him but, a chunk of the high win rate list do still run him. Calling him a 2 star card now I think is wrong. He is probably at least 3 most likely 4 stars right now.
Everytime a warlock comes up i just concede. No fun to watch him do nothing till late game, play overpowered creatures like void and heal up until they resummon it with gul'dan 20 minutes in the game... ...can watch paint drying instead, more surprises.
Always trust trump to make wrong ratings on legendary cards. Remember that 5 drop paladin legendary that transforms all your 1 cards into legendaries, he got 5 stars as well lul
I have no idea why he thought it would be good. His explanation was also retarded. aggro loses late game and bunch of random legendary won't change that
you have to consider that misrating cards is part of trumps character now, it gets views. He's obviously still good at the game if he's winning games at legend with glass knight. he knows exactly what he's doing, he's a smart guy
i play like 2 hours a day at most and im legend every month without a problem so hes right.. its actually pretty easy dont know why ppl get angry about it
You play 2 hours a day. That is the point. Most people don't want or aren't able to devote 60 hours a month to Hearthstone. That is some serious time investment for a meaningless rank.
Yeah, it's not even like it's an esport worth a dime. It _has_ an esport scene, but it's worse than gambling tournaments because it is a card game with rng stacked on top of more rng. I literally keep dropping to rock bottom because I don't play often, and it's boring af to grind even if i make a tier 1 deck and crush everyone (which i do cause i like winning.) Am I a bad player because I'm rank 25? No, I just don't play often enough to even stop myself from dropping.
20:20 Tirion is a great card, it's just extremely weak to silence/transform. It's bad in this meta, but it's far from a bad card... Once silences are out of the meta I imagine it will go back to an auto include.
Where can we donate money for trump to get a haircut? The Mayor of ValueTown deserves better. A more bureaucratic, more professional haircut.... And a three piece suit
I'm really dissapointed in the way you talked to that guy trying to hit legend. I've been watching your videos for years, and really didn't think you could be that petty. I'd be devastated if someone I looked up to told me to drop out, you knows nothing about this guy and still feels comfortable spouting stuff like that... :(
Trump's rather sassy this video. You think by now he'd understand that legend is time spent playing hs, not "skill" (in a basic card game like hs). The too, top ranks sure, but not getting there.
Pretty sure that for every 2 players not in Legend because they don't invest that much time in HS there is at least 1 who is just too bad to get there despite investing a ton of time in the game. [And then there is me, who basically never actually plays HS at all unless some free fun stuff like the Dungeon Run type of stuff comes out.]
Lucas nada mas, There are far more people who are a lot more terrible at games than the average players than you think. You just almost never see them when playing and you won't see them featured in any streams/highlights because they usually are so low ranked that barely anyone other than more bad players actually get to see them.
I want to see someone making a wild deck that: 1 - Has only even cards. 2 - Is Reno-oriented, having only one copy of each card. 3 - Has prince-keleseth, thus forbidding putting any 2-cost cards. Any class is allowed, if you're willing to give up on Kazakus or Reno, you can even make it standart, but still can't have more than one of each card.
12:30 Sure, because higher rank = higher skill, in this clown fiesta non-zero-sum-game children card game that some people call "competetive" because there is bussines on watching it. It is as valid as saying that you are better at MMO because you hit level cap.
Hearthstone is about using skill to improve your win rate. There's massive variance with RNG but apply that to say 100 games and it evens out. It isn't always the case but higher rank = higher skill is obviously a trend. The competitive scene is different because it's based on entertainment value rather than skill. If people took the competitive scene seriously there would be a lot of negativity around the variance as a result of RNG.
If I hit level cap at an MMO, and you are somewhere halfway there, it means I invested more time into the game. Since practice makes perfect, it stands to reason I would be better than you at that game. If you're gonna make an analogy, make sure it actually supports your argument.
I used to be on the train of raging when Trump said that Defile was a 1 star card in KotF though. After that I realized what he actually meant: No matter how good the card is, if the class doesn't see play, it's simply not good enough to push the class. If the dominant deck doesn't run it, it is not as good as other cards that are used which scales down it star rating. Tirion is pretty much an example: Is he good? Of course he's good. But good enough to see play in this Paladin era where Paladin has at least 3 different architype are dominating? No he isn't. So basically he's not good enough and how often do you see him? Almost none -> then 1 star. He's no different than Lore Walker Cho in Paladin deck. Oh wait, he still see play a little so 2 star LUL
I played a control Pally in the new Brawlesium and got 7 wins. Tyrion is an awesome card when you get five of them in one game (stonehill, Zola, etc.) They cant silence all of them and your Spikeridges and your Applebaums at the same time. I honesly think Trump just called Tyrion bad for the attention XD
I was wondering as well why wouldn't I include cards such as Tirion and spikeridged.. But then, after some matches i realized that the reason is because the deck becomes way slower, and the downside of this is that control decks nowdays are just insaaaaaaane in removals and sustain.. That's why there's no more midrange archetype in hearthstone... everything turned into aggro/tempo and heavy control.
Trump is absolutely wrong on Tirion's value. You can't say that a card is bad just because it isn't currently used; it ignores its past usage and its potential future usage. Tirion is *currently* bad because all the Paladin decks are aggressive and silence is everywhere. If control Paladin ever makes a comeback, Tirion will be in it in a heartbeat. It's like calling Stonetusk Boar a bad card. You guys laugh, but that fuckin' card was in a Tier 1 deck a year ago. So basically Currently Bad =/= Bad in General. Tirion is a strong card that does not currently have a deck he fits into, but has had lots of success in the past, and will probably find success in the future.
"Anyone who has a handle on business should be able to hit legend." what lol? ranked is a ladder system, and all ladders require grinding. Most people play hearthstone on their phone while using the bathroom or on a lunch break while you sit at your desk for hours every day playing ranked...not hitting legend doesnt make someone bad, same as how hitting legend doesnt make someone good
""hitting legend doesnt make someone good" spoken like a true rank 20" There's plenty of tier 1 decks each season that are braindead easy and with enough play you can hit legend unless you're actually mentally handicapped, which you have to be to play multiple hours a day anyway.
Lol why are people so pissy about the whole legend comment? First of all im sure he wasnt serious, second of all hes not wrong about it being easy to hit legend.
Honestly, I think he's wrong about Tirion or the whole concept of "this card is baf because it's old, it's not the meta guys". Some cards, like Tirion, work on a metagame that revolves around midrange, something that values trade due to the good body and the Ashbringer. On the current meta, Tirion is too slow against Aggro and has little value compared to the two popular control decks of the meta (Spiteful/Taunt Druid and Cubelock). Just look at Sylvanas, a card that was considered pretty bad on a aggro focused meta of Face Hunter but then got into the "must craft legendary" status on more midrange/control metagames.
Some people actually have to do things like shower or go to the barber, you should really try it sometime instead of sitting on your high horse playing hearthstone all day.
He isn't saying he should be expected to hit the highest rank, he's saying he shouldnt be called "bad" just because he doesn't have time to play every day. Imagine you're a football fan who plays football every week, then your favorite football star tells you you're "bad" because you can't play football every day. Trump is essentially saying, "Screw you for not being able to play every day. You are bad if you can't reach legend like I do, after i spend hours playing HS every single day."
If you're stuck in one spot long enough to consider yourself stuck and ask for advice to not be stuck anymore, it's kinda silly to make the "It's just a matter of time, not skill" argument. There are plenty of people who don't hit legend because they don't spend much time on it, sure, but that's not really relevant in this case.
"Anyone who has a handle on business should be able to hit legend." Attempts to play 4 mana card on 3 mana.
Occasional Videos he did hit legend though
He's a greasy mongoloid what did you expect
Don't forget the guy who threw a surefire win with Quest Rogue to value trade until he lost.

butthurt
You're just proving his point that you don't need to be a pro hs player to hit legend
Best part was when someone said "Trump you just made the Blizzard Paladin auto deck list" and it was true
-2 Blessing of Kings - Lay on hands -2 Primordial Drake - Silver Sword
+2 Wild Pyro +2 Corpsetaker + Spellbreaker + Crystal Lion.
Six cards changed used to be enough to be a different mage archetype. Not sure the state of the game with regards to that now.

I can't tell whether or not he's joking

I think that Even Paladin isn't bad, it's just that Trump is bad with it. No Void Lords Cubed or Gul'Dan'd? Come on.. Trump should have won that.
He's serious. Sure bad and good luck can happen in the expanse of a few games, but it'll take more than just a few to climb to legend. With that many games under your belt, what deck you're running and how you pilot it becomes a larger factor than luck.

Tyrion is a good stand alone card in a slower midrange meta that isn't plagued with silence.
"fuck stick" solid insult.
Point still stands. I'll edit the fuck out of it, thank you for your cooperation.
The deck list appears to be for the shudderwock Shaman deck not this one.
Evening the Odds with.. I'm not going to finish this overdone joke
your deck code is not working :(
THE SAVAGE MAN
Was he tired? I get the feeling Trump gets cranky is he doesn't get his sleeps.
Trump was savage af this video...
10:53 Trump just ruined this poor man's life holy crap
Trump gets rewarded for playing good
11:00 Oof, Is Trump playing spell hunter, cause those were some shots he just fired.
can someone pass me the correct deck code ? please
I played a control Pally in the new Brawlesium and got 7 wins.
Tyrion is an awesome card when you get five of them in one game (stonehill, Zola, etc.)
They cant silence all of them and your Spikeridges and your Applebaums at the same time.
I honesly think Trump just called Tyrion bad for the attention XD
Hi welcome to twist paladin with an even
I was wondering as well why wouldn't I include cards such as Tirion and spikeridged..
But then, after some matches i realized that the reason is because the deck becomes way slower, and the downside of this is that control decks nowdays are just insaaaaaaane in removals and sustain..
That's why there's no more midrange archetype in hearthstone... everything turned into aggro/tempo and heavy control.
By control decks u mean... warlock right?
akhs denlew priest control, taunt druid.. even big spell mage
Trump, Deck Code is on shaman, not even pal
Trump is absolutely wrong on Tirion's value. You can't say that a card is bad just because it isn't currently used; it ignores its past usage and its potential future usage. Tirion is *currently* bad because all the Paladin decks are aggressive and silence is everywhere. If control Paladin ever makes a comeback, Tirion will be in it in a heartbeat.
It's like calling Stonetusk Boar a bad card. You guys laugh, but that fuckin' card was in a Tier 1 deck a year ago.
So basically Currently Bad =/= Bad in General. Tirion is a strong card that does not currently have a deck he fits into, but has had lots of success in the past, and will probably find success in the future.
wrong deck code in description - it's shaman deck not pally
Everyone craft tirion, he said one star
**T H E K N I G H T M A N**
Anyone else getting a Shudderwock deck from the code in the description?
Trump saying things on par with his Donald counterpart.
"Anyone who has a handle on business should be able to hit legend." what lol? ranked is a ladder system, and all ladders require grinding. Most people play hearthstone on their phone while using the bathroom or on a lunch break while you sit at your desk for hours every day playing ranked...not hitting legend doesnt make someone bad, same as how hitting legend doesnt make someone good
Gibz a guy stuck at rank 1 has no time to hit legend. bravo
"hitting legend doesnt make someone good" spoken like a true rank 20
+Wenbo Lu That could still be true you know? We have no idea how much time he spent in rank 1. Maybe he just didn't grind rank 1 enough.
You are kinda right, but also kinda triggered. Lol
""hitting legend doesnt make someone good" spoken like a true rank 20" There's plenty of tier 1 decks each season that are braindead easy and with enough play you can hit legend unless you're actually mentally handicapped, which you have to be to play multiple hours a day anyway.
Guildwars music ?
Where is the silver Sword????
He missed lethal at 9:30
9:42 mfw u miss lethal it hurt
mfw this guy thinks rush minions can go face
Wrong deck code ;p
Edit: he fixed it :D
noticed this myself. deck code is for some shudderwock shaman deck
I’ve officially lost all respect for Trump
You cut lich king and tirion becasue the opponent is dead before turn 8
the misplay man
Just becuase a card isn't strong in the meta doesn't mean it is bad.
I wish divine shield paladin was a thing
Wrong deck code :(
NICE
Bro do you even Paladin?
Wrong deck code. Its from the shaman
Trump boasts about winning the first game against double spiteful when he has double call to arms ):
Trump what are you talking about. Jeezus man
9:17 pretty bizarre trade to take 1 hp face dmg over killing off a poison 1/1...
T H E S N A R K M A N
Lol why are people so pissy about the whole legend comment? First of all im sure he wasnt serious, second of all hes not wrong about it being easy to hit legend.
It should be punished by Godfrey which is Darius's enemy.
Trying to outvalue warlock? Lul
"midranged"
Turn 7 lethal every game
Balanced.
T H E 5 S T A R M A N
I think the deck code is the wrong one, it gives us a shaman deck.....
Did Trump actually rate Glass Knight 5 stars?
Boo ♡ Hope you all have a lovely day :3
Where are your silver Swords???
Where are your Blessing of kings????
How can we say it's just the wrong meta for Tirion? Because he's been an auto include in almost every meta since the beginning of Hearthstone.
I bet a bunch of those 50% below rank 15 are unranked people who gave up this game after it went to shit
Some people actually have to do things like shower or go to the barber, you should really try it sometime instead of sitting on your high horse playing hearthstone all day.
Some of us can't play hearthstone everyday all day like you trump, be a bit more considerate
Then don't expect to hit the highest rank in the game?
He isn't saying he should be expected to hit the highest rank, he's saying he shouldnt be called "bad" just because he doesn't have time to play every day. Imagine you're a football fan who plays football every week, then your favorite football star tells you you're "bad" because you can't play football every day.
Trump is essentially saying, "Screw you for not being able to play every day. You are bad if you can't reach legend like I do, after i spend hours playing HS every single day."
You hit that right on the nose!
He said "it's all relative" right after calling him bad. Stop being a puss.
If you're stuck in one spot long enough to consider yourself stuck and ask for advice to not be stuck anymore, it's kinda silly to make the "It's just a matter of time, not skill" argument. There are plenty of people who don't hit legend because they don't spend much time on it, sure, but that's not really relevant in this case.
the first two matches seemed like such easy wins it was baffling me how he was losing anything, the last game explained it better
