In case anybody’s still wondering what a FLOORGASM is…
This is just a fan’s compilation of other people’s videos, comments, reactions, and pics showing the appreciation, the adoration, and the love so many of us have for this lovely woman and a great singer, to say the least... and The Band!
OK, I’m also kinda in love with her… but who would blame me!?
I don’t know if I have to offer my apologies to all the fans of Janis Joplin (sorry, Зографе!), Maria Callas (sorry, mom!), Aretha Franklin, Amy Lee, Tarja… actually, I am one of them as well… it’s quite naturally human to make comparisons… so, it doesn’t mean that I (or we) don’t appreciate the enormous talents of all those adorable ladies and their spectacular voices and everything they gave us… it’s rather about having The Special One… for me (and quite a lot of us) She Is... The One - Floor Jansen.
I guess, it’s not just about her vocal abilities, it’s not just about her looks, it’s not just about the most gorgeous headbanging we’ve seen… and maybe somehow it’s not even about all of those combined…
It should be about that sublime inexplicable feeling we get when listening to her… and watching her perform… about the feeling we get when seeing how the whole band is so perfect with her - how the "chemistry" looks better than ever and the Nightwish guys as well enjoy the whole performance…
But mostly it is about what gets into you, inside you… and shakes you… and leaves you speechless and breathless…
The words that come to mind trying to express it most often are VOICE, TALENT, BEAUTY, ENERGY, POWER… obviously, still not enough to explain the whole thing… so, that’s why a new word came along - FLOORGASM :)

I´m 63 years old and for 40 years I worked as a stage technician. I´ve heard all kinds of music, but never thought that I hear some like Floor. She switches between Opera-, Power- and "Dirt"-Voice as I never heard in my live and I heard some very good singers. But...She´s the lonesome number one.
I'm not as experienced as you, I've only got about 30 years as a stage tech, and I have never seen a better combination of range, power, stage presence, and "it" (what ever "it" is she has a ton of "it") in a single front person, male or female.

Just my opinion but I compare her to Freddy Mercury when it comes to stage presence. Again, just this fan's opinion.
The same here,i was a sound guy for many years and also worked as "helping hand"at big concerts (pink floyd,Madonna,U2,Prince,George Michael,Whitney Houston.........many more) But,I really was /are "Flabbergasted" By this woman (Floor) Not only her voice ,also her stage presence is trough the roof.
Not only did Nightwish save her, she also saved Nightwish. This, my Friends, is called destiny

I'm 51 years old and Floor is by far the best female singer I've ever heard, and I grew up with Whitney, Pat Benatar, and Ann Wilson.

I'm 52 and always a fan of Alison Moyet, for me the best singer at that time, now I have discovered Floor and indeed think there is no better singer to be found today.
The only female singer I’ve ever heard come close to matching Floor’s power is Wendy O Williams of the Plasmatics. Her two primal screams in the opening of Put Your Love in Me start at her toes and rise to set the world afire.
51 as well and it’s been about a year since I stumbled on a reaction to Ghost Love Score and I completely agree with you. Can’t get enough of her!

Besides her voice she looks so happy when she sings, always has a smile and it's infectious the band and crowd does too
Floor is the physical embodiment of a Valkyrie. I won't say she's the best singer in the world, or the best singer ever, because those statements are so subjective, but I can say that in my 63 years I've never heard a woman with a voice that can top hers. She's the goddess of metal, and blows away all the competition in whatever genre she chooses to sing. #NightwishArmy
I used to be a toxic Tarja fan. No, this does not mean Tarja did anything or something. I (and many) were just that idiotic to think we knew what was really going on, or that Nightwish owes us anything. A long period of darkness i went without Nightwish, bitter spewing. A very special someone (unfortunately she is no more in my life, but i hope she is happy in her current one) introduced me to Nightwish-Floor. I listened through her ears, watched through her eyes, lived through her smile. And then...the Floor-gasm hit. Even now, so many years later, i got tears listening to this goddess. I am not dismissing Tuomas (who i am so happy to see smiling, and enjoying his works of art), Marco, Jukka and the rest. Its just that Floor is Floor...and i adore her. He voice goes beyond just a headbang, or jump. Her voice strikes deep.

I am 58 years young and I discovered Nightwish with Floor Jansen this year 2021. I am Grateful and Appreciate all they do. I Am One of The Lucky Ones.
She is the best singer of her generation, no equal, none what so ever.
No one could EVER convince me of ANYTHING else!!! Floor is a GODDESS and Tuomas is our God of Poetry! Nightwish is a perfect spiritual experience (band) ! No "band" ever will be on the level that Nightwish is on!

If I was sitting on that couch directly in front of Floor in that show Beste Zangers, I would have been crying like a baby every time she sang. She's a cross between an Angel and a Valkyrie! She commands your attention when she sings and she sings to your soul. VERY few singers can invoke such raw emotions like Floor can.
I know I am late to this movement, but I was introduced to Nightwish and Floor, via Ghost Love Score, a few weeks ago. Not a day goes by now that I dont listen to it at least once, sometimes more. That may not sound all that unusual, till you understand I am an over 60 Great Grandmother. I wonder that I might just be the oldest, or at least one of, to have fallen for Floor, and Nightwish. I spent the first week listening to every song they did. In every venue. I have never tired of her voice. She has given something precious to this old woman, a Floorgasm of epic proportions. Namaste

This 61yo American was able to see them on the Decades tour.
It's a tragedy, I haven't actually met anyone else in the US in person who knows this band exists, or that this genre of music is even a thing :(

54 tarja and anette fans obviously not impressed or jealous of the goddess.. By far the best vocalist nightwish has ever had. Her stage presence is simply in another level.. She also looks like the sort of shield maiden sent from valhalla if you died in battle to pick you up from the battlefield and take you to the Great Hall... Their is no one like her.. She is the best female singer ever in metal or even rock.. And so humble nice and down to earth as well..
Oh, it's insulting! I love Tarja to death, but I never offend another singer! It's really rude from your side to dishonor fans of different singers.
Tarja will always be Nightwish’s first. Anette was just not right, she a good singer, just too pop orientated for the Nightwish sound. Floor on the other hand, Floor is in class all her own and just what Nightwish needed. And the recordings are with Tarja still get my attention, but Floor gives me goosebumps, (the Floorgasm) every time I hear her sing. To compare them is a disservice to them both.
She has it all, Voice, range, musicality, stage presence... I mean ...who wouldn't want her in a band ??
The first woman that, besides my wife and two daughters, made me cry. But that was already @ After Forever.
With the musical instrument of Nightwish, she reached another level. Love her!

Versatility ,emoting,genre crossing,range,depth,emotional resonance,clarity,control,I do not believe nor have I EVER heard a singer of this caliber.Nightwish army it's your duty to show Floor to the world especially the U.S. !
As long as the US still listens to mumble rap it's not very efficient to try and convert them lol, the rest of Europe and South America would be a better plan of attack imo

A "Frisson (Floorgasm) is of short duration, lasting only a few seconds. Typical stimuli include loud passages of music and passages-such as appoggiaturas and sudden modulation-that violate some level of musical expectation. During a frisson, a sensation of chills or tingling felt on the skin of the lower back, shoulders, neck, and/or arms. The sensation of chills is sometimes experienced as a series of 'waves' moving up the back in rapid succession and commonly described as "shivers up the spine". Hair follicles may also undergo piloerection (Goosebumps).
Unfortunately, not all people are able to experience this reaction to music. I feel for these emotionally bereft humans. They will never know the joyous feeling and soul altering experience that is Floor Jansen.
We truly are the lucky ones!
Not only should ""Floorgasm" be included in every dictionary entry for "frisson", but there should be a picture of Floor next to the word in each as well! :D

She does things to a person that are mind boggling.
You know what gets me? Floor isn't only meant for Nightwish, but for other styles as well, like straight-up operatic.
Which is why, as a chess nerd, I've said this about Phantom of the Opera on Beste Zangers 2019:
Queen to D6. Checkmate.
And Jukka...what more can be said about the lovable and amazing Pirate? One of the greatest metal drummers of all time, which is why Wacken Open Air is the best recorded concert of all time.

@@nasrymatamoros1748 : But being clean, like technique, isn't enough for me -- having an 'X' factor, like putting your emotion into your playing, is something Jukka did, that Kai, for the most part, doesn't. Kai almost seems robotic in his playing, where Jukka was more laid back.
Her voice makes my soul ache and touches me so deeply that I weep.

If you watched the video, you're likely a huge fan of Floor's to begin with. I have said it many times, there is something so special about this lady. Her performances most often leave me with tears dripping down my face because she is just so good. She is the total package unlike the Pop Diva's forced on us. Floor, the one singer to rule them all.
I am 62 years old and tears start when I just see Floor walk on stage. She is just something so special to humanity. I love her.

I only really started listening to Nightwish about 3 months ago. In that time I have discovered one thing. Floor Jansen is a singers singer. She has created a plateau that only she occupies. Her voice combined with the extreme talent that is Nightwish has convinced me that they belong in an elite club to which only been a handful of bands have belonged.
Floor is incredible. Her versatile voice gives her so many options as a vocalist. The only other singer I have seen with that kind of raw live power is Floor's own favorite singer, Lzzy Hale. Lzzy can deliver powerful belts in concert. Floor also recently said she would love to collaborate with Lzzy, and gosh would I love to see that. It is such a shame that Floor (and Nightwish) are not recognized in the US for how incredible her singing is, and how amazing the band is.
I too like her switching registers at no ease, she is a vocal beast :) I always was into Taraj and still love her voice, but Floor fits this quantum more to this amazing band imho. And don't forget the others, Thomas does really great work on writing, and Marko is not only a male subvoice ;)
Lzzy did a collab with The Hu, it's really sensational and comes close to some of Floor's concert
Lzzy Hale rocks. Two of my favorite singers - if they do collab I think my head might explode. Hale might not have the range of Floor (who does?) but I love the way she pours her passion into every performance and leaves it all on stage. She has power and a rock and roll spirit. Also she looks like she loves performing every time and loves her fans, same as Floor.
And I agree, Floor and Nightwish are too underrated in the U.S. They are incredible musicians.
Nailed it. The synergy between Floor Jansen and the other members of Nightwish is perfection. The performances at 2013 Wacken, 2015 Wembley and 2016 Buenos Aires are simply amazing. So much fun watching them perform with Floor at lead vocals.

Floor Jansen made me love Nightwish. The band is so talented and Floor was the first female singer to make me cry. I was punched in the plexus 1 year ago, when I discovered her through Ghost love score and all the other songs. So much charism, talent, technic and above all, humility and love given. Respect miss Jansen. You deserve all our love, you give us so much.

At age 64, there's not much that can take me by surprise, make me bawl like a baby, give me chills and goosebumps, and just be thunderstruck at the whole Nightwish band. I had never even heard of them until the beginning of this year (I live in the U.S., so go figure, right??!). I kept seeing reactors doing this thing called "Ghost Love Score" and I refused to check it out for a long time just because of all the "hype". I finally gave in just out of curiosity. I've been listening to them every day since! I'm definitely in the Nightwish Army! (At least I know I'm not jaded beyond all hope as I had originally thought, though....I can still feel things in my soul....like Floor Jansen's voice...)
Most singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants and makes it look effortless.

I liked Tarja a lot and love her singing. Floor makes Nightwish better and Nightwish makes Floor better. They are the perfect match to compliment each other. I only regret I only found out about this band a couple years ago. Seeing one of their shows is on my bucket list.

What surprised me the most about Floor at that Wacken 2013 performance... besides that video having some of the best audio capture of a live show I have ever heard... was that when she sang all those songs it was like that was how the were always meant to be sung. Like Tuomas had always written them for Floor and he just didn't know it yet.

There's nothing more emotional than a Floorgasm
Tarja is good, but can mostly do only operatic type singing. Annette has a good voice, but not the bombastic voice that Nightwish needs.
Floor can do everything: operatic enough, she can growl, she can do rock: she is the ultimate powermetal singer currently out there...

People argue that Tarja is better but Tarja is not better. She is just better at operatic vocals. Floor beats her in everything else

Tarja was like the queen, untouchable for a fan but really good. Anette was like the princess, everyone liked but not loved. Floor is the General you fight with and after the battle you go drink a beer and have fun.
And thats exactly why i love her singing and her person, she is natural in all ways, you have allways the feeling she is a normal human being and in the same time, she takes you to the brink of all emotions with her singing. She is like the hero we need but didnt deserve.
I'd say that Floor is the Queen that leads her army into battle and that makes you proud to follow and fight alongside, and willingly give your life for.

I have had nothing to do with any of her succes or her amazing voice, but somehow I've never been more proud to be Dutch. Never liked NW with Tarja or Annette, but nowadays it's one of my favorite bands. What a singer can do. Floor has always been an excellent singer, but I did notice she's gotten better and more mature since she joined NW. She's like a fine wine, just getting better and better. Her solo show was quite amazing as well. Can't wait for the new album.

I've been a Nightwish fan since the early 2000s, when they fired Tarja, Floor was the only singer I could imagine replacing her, the pure f****** joy and excitement when she stepped up on 2012 is ineffable. (No disrespect to Annette, loved Dark Passion Play). But Floor.... Oh... My... God... And the fact that they recorded that "Ghost Love Score" on my freaking birthday in Buenos Aires... Best year ever :D

My first song from Nightwish that i heard was Ghost Love Score Wacken 2013 ... I can't describe what I feel that time ... Her voice ... At that time I event don't know what floorgasm is but felt it at moment when she starts that looooong end of song and I fall in love with the band ... I become one of many soldiers of Nightwish army, yet I wasn't at thier concert ... I wish I can hear them live not just from the video ...

Floor combines vocal power, extreme versatility and stage presence. That makes her the perfect lead singer and stage performer for nightwish
Her stage presence, singing and energy just sends the adrenaline flowing. I could run through a hail of medieval bolts from a crossbow, kind of feeling. Yeah I know, weird but damn she just charges me up. That band, in the pocket, song after song after song, they feed off of each other. One of the top performing bands I have ever seen and I've seen a few. They are just incredible, with Floor, they are over the top.

Floor, she is like a black hole - once you get close to her you are trapped in all her glory for eternity. Angles would die for a voice like hers.
