As a Pakistani I felt very emotional to see his story. Sir you are truly a person of a nobel character. Pakistan is yours too and you are welcomed here any time you want.
This made me emotional.. my mom said that my grandpa was one of the people who helped his Hindu friends to cross the border and reach India safely.. never saw him but I m definitely proud of him
Throughout the story...my eyes were filled with tears listening to Bau Ji's emotions... made me recall, my mother used to tell me that in those days, my naana ji had to spend 3 days and 3 nights on a tree in fear of being killed from a mob chasing him on the way to home, then on 4th day a hindu gentleman and his famiiy came forward to help. They had hidden naanu's identity to save my naana ji....whosoever came in their house, they introduced my naana ji as their own son given with a name fake name of Aatma Ram. Few days later they dropped my naanu at home in dark. People never wanted divisions but Hunger of power and politics did so.
It's usually the greedy .. greedy for power & greedy for wealth ... & most politicians want at least one, but often both, even if they won't admit it. It's the rest of us who pay the price for their greed.
Yeah it's the politics Noone have any problems but they put only bad knowledge in our minds from starting and we have a mental image of them being bad That's why we think that we are fighting for justice and they think they are fighting for justice but the reality is both are fighting because some politicians brainwashing It also includes some relegius leader They also justify this by manipulating the texts in which we believe so we think it's right because our relegion says
I am neither from pakistan nor from india but this brought tears in my eyes. The old man's passion, his little steps, the emotions!! Man! This is too good of a documentary. And yes, the partition did hurt many!

I'm a Pakistani. I can't stop my tears and cried after watching this video. This video is so heart touching. The main cause of hatred and all the problems is Britishers i.e. their policy was divide peoples and rule over subcontinent. They fought the peoples for their occupency. And the hatred is continue yet that was aggravated by British government at that time. There were peace and prosperity before the British government occupation. ✨✨ Hope for the best ❤️
Hatred among the religions was already there. They just ignited the fire. This too can be debated as a large mass of people demanded a partition based on religion.
It is heart touching emotion. Words cant express it. Partition makes wounds to both d countries. After 75 years still unable to meet each other. All because of terrorism. If it is not supported by military or others , all are eagarly waiting for my brothers, sisters and all. It is a dream to all
I'm a Pakistani girl and whenever my grandmother would tell me about partition , tears would come out of her eyes as she lost a lot of her relatives during coming to Pakistan . She was a little girl when she came to Pakistan and became a doctor here . I'm really curious what was her homeland there in punjab . Unfortunately, she passed away on 10th March 2020 . May her soul rest in peace . (Ameen) This man is really a legend .
His younger brother didn't understand that his elder brother wasn't there to meet people or to see places....but to RE -LIVE those nostalgic memories that roam in his mind and subconscious .
@@1A_B_C1 yes that was also one of the reason.. But he was not enjoying like his elder brother was.. He even said he didn't wanted to come but he was coming for his brother... The wife of old man was scared too..
That baby and the old man hugging each other brought tears to my eyes. One has yet to experience how ugly the world can be, and is full of trust and hope, and the other has experience it all and is filled with despair.
Tears came out when he held the baby, and mum didn't know the background.Myself a son of an immigrant from Amritsir settled in Multan.Baba ji travelled for all of us.
To everyone born decades later and behaving like a partition expert, it's very hard to understand the pain that people like this old man has gone through. Losing home, friends, family and living most of the life wondering what could've been. Everyone I know/knew from his generation has the same emotion. As an honest and patriotic Indian, my sincere thanks to everyone in Pakistan for welcoming and making the trip happen for him.
@Ram Ohri what a nonsense comment. You did not have mind, those who slaughter daughter they are criminal not Allama iqbal. On the basis of your theory - the one who made Gun are criminals because they are responsible for firing gun on innocent people. Please think 1 minute before comment on Allama iqbal
Bengali or Punjabi people knows the pain of partition.. my dad was from East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.. my dad always says about his village , his Home, the river behind his house, that pond, that tree, those plants.. I understand that he misses a lot but today I understood how much pain is still hidden in his heart.. I cried.. I am crying very much now.. uff it wass very terrible period that our ancestors spent. Indian Constituent Assembly (In the chairmanship of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) Even today also, The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) opposes the Child Marriage Act on the grounds that it contravenes the Muslim personal law.

My entire maternal family migrated from Pakistan. Both my Nanaji and Naniji migrated from Sialkot. The name of their native village was Kot Ram Das which of course was changed to a different name after partition (I don't remember the changed name). My Naniji passed away in 2007 but my Nanaji who is 87 years old and is bed bound speaks highly about Pakistan. That is the model we should follow But that can only happen after the solution of kashmir dispute. It's really not in interest of India to delay this matter any long. It.will be good for the whole region and.all countries involved to get out of this mad war tensions and resources wasted on defence and offence machinery. Rather making open borders and friendly relations will allow for using that money for education and health care. Infrastructure development etc. Peace is the way forward.

War only brings casualties and hatred ...
It's usually the greedy .. greedy for power & greedy for wealth ... & most politicians want at least one, but often both, even if they won't admit it. It's the rest of us who pay the price for their greed.
Yeah it's the politics
Noone have any problems but they put only bad knowledge in our minds from starting and we have a mental image of them being bad
That's why we think that we are fighting for justice and they think they are fighting for justice but the reality is both are fighting because some politicians brainwashing
It also includes some relegius leader
They also justify this by manipulating the texts in which we believe so we think it's right because our relegion says

Indian Constituent Assembly (In the chairmanship of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar)
Even today also, The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) opposes the Child Marriage Act on the grounds that it contravenes the Muslim personal law.

The name of their native village was Kot Ram Das which of course was changed to a different name after partition (I don't remember the changed name). My Naniji passed away in 2007 but my Nanaji who is 87 years old and is bed bound speaks highly about Pakistan. He had the opportunity to visit Pakistan in 1997 and I remember he bringing back loads and loads of gifts which the local people from his village in Pakistan gifted him. He always spoke highly of Lahore and he still says 'jis ne Lahore ka Anarkali Bazar nai dekha usne is pure jahan Mai kuch nahi dekha". Thanks for sharing this video. This reminded me of the conversations I had with my Nanaji about Pakistan and how his eyes use to light up when he spoke about it. I too wish I could visit his anscestral home one day.
It is still Kot Ram Das
I dnt think so the name is changed because we migrated from jalandhar to pakistan but where we live in pakistan village near nankana sahib named dhanuwana was same old name as before partition
Saurav Dhillon: Really amazed to see your comments. Let me share you about myself. I am 35. I born in Sialkot, studied in Sheikhupura and doing a job in Lahore. We have a home in Sialkot. It is good to hear you that your family belongs to Sialkot. Yes, Lahore is lovely city and so the people. Anarkali Bazar has its charm. Food is great in Lahore. I lives in Lahore and love that city. Please share your plan whenever your family intends to visit Sialkot or Lahore. We love you a lot. Please convey my prayers and love to your elders and family. Boht Boht Salaam and love ❤

All Indians over 70 who have roots in Pak should have visa free entry in our Country , its their Birth right
I agree, dont you think India should apply the same... They wont even give visa for a funeral visit.. shame

Just reminded me of my grandfather. He was Pakistani Sikh. He kept longing for Pakistan until end of his life. He was also from Shaikhupura. I just realised and felt tiny bit of his pain and grief. I swear, when I was growing up there wasn't even a single day when he didn't talk about Pakistan or mentioned something about Pakistan and his friends there. I couldn't stop crying throughout the whole video. Wish these two countries can become one once again and may we can see end of this hate in politics and media that keeps putting nails in the coffin of the love to bury it forever. Thanks Aljazeera.

Punjab should have never been divided. Horrible decision and it also destroyed Kashmir.
Amardeep Singh we welcome all with love but it is not possible neither desirable to reunite.. rather we shoshoud have better relation and live like Canada and usa or European union. That is the model we should follow
But that can only happen after the solution of kashmir dispute.
