Hey. Yeah from various parts of the Amazon and other areas, its called a Payara 'Hydrolycus' but they're are a few different species of them and this one doesn't get too big also can be kept in community and less aggressive. But my other vid of Payara is a species called 'Armatus' and they get much bigger plus very aggressive
Hey man thanks, i will sub and check your channel for sure. I dont know where this Hydrolycus origionates from.... maybe 'Peru' but not too sure. I got him from Wharf Aquatics though here in UK. My monster predatory community is aquascaped so yeah... thanks for noticing the plants
Thank you this did help a lot ima get mine next week ima try my luck I got a 300 gal tank with some power heads and a marine Land canister filter 300watt heater with some bubble stones hopefully this will be enough for it or ima just get an ATF vittatus
Hi mate. All young payara species can die randomly as they are a very sensitive fish at juvenile stages, when they start to mature and reach around 8-10" they become very strong and less sensitive to water parameters. Although no matter the size they do require good filtration, strong water flow, and oxygen rich water.... If u have all that then should be fine whatever hydrolycus species u get. As of the differences..... scombs have a much longer slender body which is usually bright silver, and unlike any of the others scombs rear fin is more round like a coin rather than how u see the tat is in this vid, also the fins will be more of a white/clear, they usually sit in the water with their heads facing downwards and the shape of their heads are different too the other species. Hope this helps u
