Performance issues are performance issues. Mainly for me I disagree with the abandoning of careful positioning because for you to turn and hit the monster you still would need intimate knowledge of monster positioning and intimate knowledge of button inputs. Cant just say that allowing players to turn attacks magically removes the need for careful positioning you know. Id agree to lessening the need but not outright abandonment like you say. Plus i think turning your attacks would be a second thought cuz everyone would be too focused learning the timing for offset attacks with the monsters.
I really hope they fix the performance on PC. I’m not a big fan of the kinsect Glaive. Which has been my main weapon since world. Not being able to bounce off monsters sucks.
I only recently upgraded my PC and this game was a big reason for that. I was sure a 4070 and a 12600k would be enough. But i cant even get 60fps most of the time. :(
That's because the state of your PC is dogshit, might be a good time to reinstall windows since you cant take care of your system. Can confirm a 4070 and a ryzen 5700x3d runs this game maxed out, 1440p, DLAA with over 130 fps consistently.
There's no way you can tell me that rise has a better SAED compared to wilds. There might be some moves but rise was like a floppy noodle coming from worlds as my first monster Hunter.
@@robertsmith20022 One of those World dik riders. World vs rise is a matter of preference. I like switch skills, he likes graphics. But wilds hit effects are not at all satisfying
@@moonrabbit2334 Wilds aren't satisfying in relation to how realistic it's trying to be. even if Rise is worse than worlds and less cinematic, it needed to be due to the faster/arcadey/anime nature of the game. Wilds has no excuse (in fact some attacks/movements are slower than world)
I really love the new weapon move-sets. There's undoubtedly more space for skill expression in most of the weapons (jury is still out on a few) thanks to the myriad of new systems. That being said, the fluidity in combat does feel quite alien. After playing the series for 15 years, this is the biggest leap in core gameplay between any two games. The slow, methodical combat centered around preemptive positioning still exists but now there's another layer to combat. Now, if you make a blunder, there's very often a convenient recovery that allows you to still deal all or most of your damage... I think that the new systems (namely focus mode) can support quality gameplay and maintain what makes MH great as long as they adjust Monsters accordingly. Rise/Sunbreak raised the pace for us Hunters but sped up Monsters in equal measure and it resulted in a very good combat experience. As long as we get Monsters with comparable flow and lethality, I'm quietly optimistic about the gameplay. - Outside of gameplay, I agree that the performance is a major problem. I'm lucky enough to have recently built a new PC but two of my mates will each need a whole new build if they want to play. I'm not a fan of the map either. Especially during the sandstorm inclemency. I'm going to go out on a limb and state that this will be my least favourite map in the full game (at least I hope so).
yah, it's all about the "dance" and flow of combat. Wilds, despite focus mode, was still really fun (least against rey/frog). I'm not calling to remove focus mode, but like Rise, there needs to be a reason it exist, otherwise it's just casualizing the game for the sake of casualizing. which is OKAY, but we'll need the harder content to compensate (which rise did in the dlc-post game, and like world did in iceborne). maybe it takes an expansion to get there tho.
For the price they are putting on steam.. this game better be released polished AF.. AAA games are released half baked nowadays and we have to wait months for it to be enjoyable..Please dont fuck this up Capcom..
I mean if they have to delay it for another 2 months to work on optimization, I'm okay with that. I just want the game to run proper and well on release.
a couple months probably won't fix much. The issues they are having are foundational and began years ago. This isn't a case of giving it a coat of paint and putting in the windows. This is a case of needing to strip the foundations out and start again, and they're not gonna do that.
@bladechild2449 I mean, 12 hours a day 5 days a week I would hope they could do something in 2 months. A lot of people said this is a problem with the r e engine
it's called branch, and it's rushed to seem like the final game, but it isn't. meanwhile on the main branch the developer optimize and fixes bug and add features
I agree with the first half as well. Ive been playing since Generations and I feel so many QOL changes are more focused on casual players and players who entered through World. That Veteran players, like myself, dont really see the value in purchasing this for $70 "So far." I dont like being able to change direction mid combo, like you aforementioned. Lastly, the Impacts of the weapons are far softer than that of world. If im guna be honest i dont think it will get a purchase from me if that isnt updated. It takes away from the dynamic of the hunts. As for QOL changes it would be nice if we could toggle them on/off i would be okay with that.
yah when I tried world again for the footage, i was surprised world felt more "cinematic" just due to the weapon feel and camera zoom (and well it runs nicely and you can SEE things). idk why they would change that given the weapons are not even faster in many cases to world (lance is slower for example)
Honestly as someone who started with the og on ps2 putting attack command in with the right stick I enjoy most of the qol improvements they have made. Messing with the timing though I doln't love it takes away half the challenge. I originally hated it when they moved to attack buttons instead of the stick it took away a lot of the skill but it grew on me and now going back is atrocious. Might be the same for this. Less in game limitations means we can push it further.
Thank you for offering all impressions mate. It is good to hear all positive and negative. Even if it is nitpicky. Most "reviewers" are just shills, mate.
One thing that pissed me off besides performance on Xbox Series S was how much monsters run away.. It feels like 50% you're attacking the monster and then the other 50% you're on your Seikret running after the monster.
This has been a thing tho in pretty much every MH game but I will admit it seems a bit more prevalent in Wilds. Especially with that hairy fuck Doshugama… I hope it gets patched out.
@@jideoforojukwu4263 I actually hope you’re right and if that’s the case then good but it felt like they were running away more in this game or maybe it’s because in MHW there’s so many ways of preventing them from leaving
I really hope they improve performance, even with my PC that can run most games 4k 60fps, it still dropped frames like crazy and looked blurry. The weapons also lacked impact, the lack of hitstops is pretty obvious.
yah tbh i couldn't get a "locked" 120 fps at 1440p. I have to "over cap" fps to 144 to get above 120, otherwise if i cap it TO 120 I'll often dip to 100-115 WITH frame gen(which doesn't make sense). I hope final release I can achieve at least 90 fps locked without frame gen ruining my latency.
I'm surprised you didn't have a problem with how multiplayer was handled. Making a party with your steam friends was an extreme pain. You had to navigate to a different menu entirely to invite them to a "link party", then those link party members aren't even necessarily in your lobby or environment, so there was a separate option for that. It's probably to facilitate cross play, but it's still an egregious amount of menu diving.
it's just an open beta TEST, chill out. the game will be fire. Some LOD problem it's nothing, it's just a bug, fixed that the game would be as strong as it should be
Graphic problems aside, what a didn't like most was the FEEL of the weapons attacks. Looks like its lacking that IMPACT feedback form World. I do not tested all 14 weapons but the GS and SA feels like you're cutting butter. They reduced or eliminated the feeling of resistence when your blade touches the monster. The game is more like those generic Beat'Em Up (i.e. GoW) than Monster Hunter.
as far as I've seen charge blade was one of the few with actual good hitstop still (even tho that weapon is basically pizza mode only viable now). otherwise it's closer to Rise than world hitstop wise, which just looks/feels jarring giving the more "realistic" approach.
I will say, I understand the concerns with the performance, but I would save any real critique for the demo as this was supposed to mainly test the network and cross play features according to Capcom, so I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt there. The demo will be a lot closer to what to expect upon release so we shall see what it looks like then. Great vid and summary!
I am amazed by the gameplay. Really really love it but.... I cannot and will not play this game on my current PC. Once rtx 5000s series was out I will upgrade my computer. 5070super schedule to be released on February which is the same month monster hunter wild release if it's not delay but from the look of the beta please for the love of monster hunter franchise delay if you have to. There are a lot of things to optimize.
It is probably too early to tell but i do dislike the addition of focus mode letting you aim where ever. Gone are the days of the hype moments you snipe monsters. That was really what i really enjoyed about mh, the greater emphasis on positioning and timing even compared to souls games. Also the lack of 'oomph'. Gs doesn't get that much hitstop but for some reason CB has similar excessive hitstop from rise - World CB's pizza cutter was the perfect amount of hitstop and holding the button down for extra hits is just too clunky for me.
They need to fucking optimize this game so bad lmao, praying the majority of their time till launch goes towards this. There are gameplay issues I hope they change like some stuff with lance, cb, and ig, but biggest issue was by far the performance
Beta... No, it is in a state of the game we will get. They will NOT fix the RE engine for the release, Framegen is NOT PERFORMANCE, get that concept out of your head. my Ryzen 5800x with RX 6950xt at 1440p barley scratches 60 fps looking at nothing, in the camp it was between 20 and 35 fps... Battlefield 1 look better and runs like a dream over 180fps, that is inexcusable, even Hunt Showdown runs amazing while looking brilliant. The game runs like crap if you don't use the scam of Framegen and upscaling, upscaling should have been used for older GPUs not for powerful hardware, I though UE5 was garbage but RE engine is even worse.
Haven't watched the video yet but I have to say the optimization of the game is completely horrendous. Wilds is unplayable on my mid-tier rig even tho I can play World at 100+fps with most settings maxed out. What is even more shocking is people with better rigs than mine have the exact same problems that I do. I was going to pre order but decided not to. Also, I don't think the final product will be any different. I really don't think they can fix the optimization in just 3 months.
That is a very final decision o make about a beta build :/ you do you, but seems a little unreasonable to just shrug off the entire game just because a network test didn’t run perfectly the first time
It's mor like 6 months they didn't give us current build this is the same as the June build maybe had some tweaks but is an old build. It was with this short beta and people already leaked some monster. I don't think release will have godly performance but I'd say that it won't be as bad as this has been for many people. It is alright to be wary maybe a few months down the line is better for me is a day one purchase though but that's just me don't be me
@@Ashamran As @moonrabbit2334 said it is more of a precaution rather than a final decision. I don't want to just pre-order and bother with refunding it later if it performs as bad as it does in beta. If they actually fix the optimization by the time it comes out I will buy it then. I know I will miss out on pre order bonuses but that is fine for me personally.
@@rebirthofgodrics907 That is what I would like to think but DD2 had the same problems in beta and wasn't fixed on launch. I do think they will fix the optimization down the line but it might take a couple of months after it is released.
i played it on my 4080 and my ps5. Something i noticed on pc was that the imput lag would change when in an area with more monsters or effects. Even though the frametimes were stable. It was quite strange given the ps5 didnt have that problem even at 30fps
100% agree with you on the weather thing. I'm glad they wanted to try something new, but it doesn't matter if it isn't appealing to actually see in-game
I was fortunate enough to have absolutely no problem whatsoever with the pc version, the beta looked way more polished than any game releasing these days. So I'm confident these problems will be sorted out by the time the game releases. My biggest concern is the game balance. Felt too easy with some weapons types compared to others while also being the most effective. That makes some weapons completely useless. I'm not a fan of the charge blade changes with SAED while they made weapons like greatsword and dual blades easier to use than it's ever been, so why is that ? Why not giving shield charge, sword charge and axe charge with the wound system like insect blade does by giving all kinsect extracts ? Having to charge sword and shield manually while only getting your pizza cutter charged by popping a wound feels wierd, especially when it's the only way to charge it other than with guarding points. That leads to situations where you have one buff missing and by the time you get it back, another one finished. You feel like that's all you do, getting your buffs instead of actually hunting the monster like other weapons do.
I know it's too early for me to say this but I agree on the "Positioning" it feels illegal for me to play it that way, dodging monsters is so easy not gonna lie. No intimidation for monsters even though the game is called WILDs lol. Dodogama is harder to fight than those monsters in wilds combined haha(jk lol)
9:47 I disagree with you on this part, the weather system is nice and it adds to the immersion that we are not only battling the monsters but the elements as well
I mean I sort of get what you are saying with the focus mode changing things significantly but I don’t think it lessens the need for monster knowledge at all. I think it’s a part of a rebalancing and retuning. The implementation of offset attacks and other weapon changes, and the likelihood that future monsters will really test players, I see it differently and not as a loss. Could you be really good with GS in worlds, sure, but you were honestly fighting the games mechanics and not the monsters. The meta play styles for weapons was built around the fact that were locked into a direction, and sought to change that, now they listened and instead of fighting the games limitations your just fighting the monsters.
I totally agree with the last part. Not liking the map darkness and constant changing weather. Good review. I played on PS5 and if it isn't optimized better at launch i might pass on this one
I'm a simple man. I just buy the game, put the disc in the hole, and play. Having a PS5 means I don't have to worry about whether or not my rig can run any of the games coming out.
My 4070 super has missing assets. No matter how many time I preload the cache it doesn't do anything even I update all my drivers. Kinda funny that my crash problem was fixed when I saw a dragon's dogma 2 problem on reddit.
I feel like all 12 of us GL players wished upon a monkey's paw for them to buff GL and this was the result. Jokes aside, a huge mixed bag of good and bad. It is a beta, but that's a lot of issues to iron out 4 months from launch.
They have removed Hitstop, hence the more fluid combat; which I believe is necessary for the current combat style and actions in the game. I am not against it, as I feel the game being more fluid has a good feel. However, I can see why people would like it back, at least on certain weapons, like GS and Hammer, as it adds that extra "Umph!" to the attacks. As an old... very old school MH player who has enjoyed the more restricted, skill based Monster Hunter timing and positioning, I can't say I hate the new direction... minus maybe the Bow auto-aim, and complete 180's to land attacks. Perhaps a limited range for Focus would be ideal. As for performance... yeah... needs a lot of work.
anyone accepting 40fps to be playable is too monster-hunter-pilled. the game has potential, yes. but this level of performance is not optimal for gameplay of an action game.
I accepted 30fps and under for well over a decade since MH was only releasing on handhelds. To be honest i still put settings in 30fps mode because my veteran brain evolved that way and can dodge better. BUT Performance in this beta was bad! They need to fix it ASAP or they damage their reputation. Also base Ps5 not being able to hold 60fps in performance mode is really bad.
Idk what u all thinking as if game development is so easy especially in such a big scale. Dude look around in the world and whats going on do u really think that game Studios are not affected by all of this? Think again. I understand people who are not satisfied at all by this performance but instead of only complaining how about some words of praise for the things that are running well? All of this is so demotivating... i cant see it anymore...
One thing to note about the npc hunters you can call. These guys are smarter than the average player and if they get killed it doesn't count as a cart. They are essentially the same as a mimic tear.
really? I never used them but thats hilarious they dont count for carting. can you pick which ones to use like Rise or are they random? (gonna pick all gunners and a HH npcs if i can )
Game looked disgusting on series x even on resolution mode, FULL of checkerboarding artifacts especially around the our characters’ heads. It doesn’t hold 30/40 unless you are in the desert and the performance mode looks worse than nintendo switch and even that doesn’t hold 60 fps at all time. At that kind of graphics sacrifice, I expect it to be an IMMACULATE 60 fps. To add to that I am pretty sure there were some textures issues because none of them looked good or looked like they were loaded in. If you need to know the kind of standard the people who say the game looked gorgeous and played fine on their ps5 or series x, well here you go better to dismiss their cope. Also the people on pc calling other peoples’ pcs outdated is HILARIOUS. RE games run at nice 1440p 60 on consoles like ps5 and series x( aside from 4) and you KNOW the only reason this game plays and look this bad even on pc on 4090 is because of the engine and how it’s not good for open world. This is not UE5 nor does it have UE5 visuals. Stop coping lol. I will follow the game up at launch to see if anything’s changed but I don’t expect it’s going to become acceptable tbh. No hate towards you the creator I mostly agree with everything you said about the game, but anyone saying this is going to be better at launch is clearly coping and then you have the occasional clown telling people to upgrade when this game does not look good enough for the hardware it requires.
"just upgrade" doesn't work when those better gpus cost $500-1500+ dollars, not including the cpu which also need to be higher if yours is lacking. during todays economy, not an easy demand to just spit at people. There is a lot of coping, and I played betas for 10+ years, they rarely change, so you really need to be praying for improvement and not just "expect" it (and again, game will have drm/denuvo which will hit performance).
I honestly think 4gb vram should be minimum spec requirement of games not 6 or 8 gb especially when the graphics are not that huge of a jump compared to other open worlds
@@moonrabbit2334 forget what you think. If the new software requires more then get more or stop trying to be a pc gamer. They game will not run smooth for you otherwise. Plus if you cant notice the improvement in the graphics, detail, and mechanics then the issue lies solely on you.
This is more a peoblem of the RE engine in general. Capcom has announced an initiative to support theie engine devs to improve perfoemance across their games by improving performance under heavy asset load (eg what you need in an open world game), so here's hoping
it seems to mostly be bad for these bigger games. RE games run and look amazing for comparison. But i do hope the MH team doesn't constantly chase graphics and settles for the "we want our game to run 60 fps across all platforms minimum", you see it all the time with pixel chasing devs where they sacrifice too much in order to look 20% prettier.
4:50 Absolutely not, the ability to aim your character where you want them isnt a "making game easier" Its a basic QOL that should have been there since the series start. I dont mind some attack diminished values when the characters turns more than X degrees. But fast weapons as longsword, sns, dd, glaive etc should be 100% about turning to face the monster correctly. Nothing was more infuriating as to hold the fucking W in worlds and it took 2 hours for the character to turn where I fucking want it AND THEN attack - this could be the problem of input priority, as movement should be above attacks (which lock you) But focus mode in wilds made the melee weapons so smooth and good to play in KBM that i will probablynever play world again, as I couldnt imagine playing without it
@@tjorb Playing MHW with your feet is much more difficult than playing it with your hands. But it doesnt make the game better, more fun, more engaging etc Its jus legacy clunkiness and it took them WORLD to realize KB+M is objectively the most superior method of controling games. Focus mode in wilds is just PC exprience of bowguns and bows from World, and allowing melee to enjoy that precision
Dammm…. I played the beta on my series X with friends and we where all like “ damm this runs quit smooth “ no visual problems what so ever. The only probleem we had was with the sound, it did glitched out a bit sometimes. For the rest this beta was very good and the arts style they chose is excellent in my opinion. Maybe those who got to see those horrible visual monstrosities where those players that where among the first once in the beta. 🤷🏻♂️
A lot of your complaints are definitely personal issues/tastes because I thought a lot of the beta was fantastic. The game ran smoothly for me with little to no bugs. The monster designs look amazing and serious. Overly wacky looking monsters kind of break the immersion for me so honestly im failing to see an actual issue with the new monsters. Hey at least congalala is back so there's some wackiness there. The map design was just perfect for me and didn't feel flat at all. I like the gritty style of the game and the weather/biome shifts. They really aren't an issue to me so I'm surprised you feel the way you do about those events. A lot of special monsters and incidents will be tied to those biome shifts. I also definitely enjoyed the changes to some of the weapons like the lance, hammer, hunting horn, and gunlance. Plus, it's not weird that certain weapons like dual blades or bow lack a clash. They are not designed to do that period. I do agree the bow auto aim is diabolical and needs to be switched back to people genuinely maintaining good aim. Everything will definitely be optimized by launch, so im looking forward to this new mh entry.
yah objectively its really performance and hitstop that i think most would agree could be improved. anything else is like any other MH game where it's subjective to what you did or didn't like compared to X game, varying from person to person. it's just a beta tho so we don't have the full scope of things, and even if i think the map is bland personally, it's just 1 map out of 4-5 we'll get, so not really a deal breaker or anything.
@PWARGaming well, there will also be dlcs and a lot of the desert we haven't been able to access. The hit stop is pretty subjective. People are free to not use focus mode to reposition themselves. I know I didn't, and to be fair, I wasn't aware that was the case. I still won't use it now that I know it's a thing. I also found myself out of position plenty of times, so I definitely gotta practice.
I played this on my potato of a computer and i’m not sure why i felt so compelled to continue playing the beta despite it running at 25-30FPS on low settings lmao
cuz its fun still, but even more the reason to fix things, otherwise people will be missing out on a great game just because of dumb performance problems (or having a "lesser" experience in the case of low fps).
yah, pc specifically. but still, it'd be nice if they could get steadier/locked 60 fps on ps5. there have been several test graphs showing ps5 performance mode runs sub 60 a LOT(mostly 40-50 90% of the time) if the resolution is gonna get murdered, it needs to hit 60, otherwise its better to just go graphics mode.
It ran fine for me, RTX3060ti paired with a Ryzen 5500 cpu and 16gb ram, 1080p with DLAA. Poor optimisation imo. The community manager said that the game is in a better state already comapred to the beta
I had more than 300hrs into World, and in GU i prob have more than 1k now. My experience playing wilds is that the game is a tad easy compared to world, probably related to the lack of punishment if you have bad positioning or time your attack wrong. But my worst complaint is that my medium computer can't even get close to run Wilds, in world I never droped below 60 fps but here I'm struggling to get to 20 in the lowest settings, I'm praying that the devs will spend most of their time now polishing the game, but if they fail I'll just refund the game and use the money to buy a new GPU I guess.
My pc is several years old now, but it was top of the line when I got it. The fact that this game looks so bad even with 1080p and 30 FPS is really disheartening. I don't need it to look amazing, but I wish it didn't look worse than a PS2 game.... On the bright side... I still had a ton of fun playing it! It's kinda sad, but I'm still probably going to get the game. It just isn't going to feel very good unless there's better optimization done before release.
i have a geforce 3080 and was genuinely surprised by how well the beta ran, of course i couldn't use frame gen or anything fancy so i can't comment much on these "other graphics" but i felt it ran fine enough, of course i plan to upgrade but it is a beta and i expect capcom do do good and the game to be good despite the high specs needed.
The performance was so bad on my 3060ti it totaly killed my hype for the game. It felt misreble. I just wanted to kill a monster or two and be done with it. And with more than 1000 hours in rise and world, its just sad
I also found the map very boring. I like the diverse areas in world so hopefully this is just something they’re giving us in the beta. I also didn’t like the obscured vision and the camera angle. I would like the option to look closer on my character, but I was not too impressed overall with this, I will just keep playing world
its weir but i love the season in the maps the sand, volumetric make the experience feel more real and inmersive i feel like a being in a desert, if there no fog, sand rain, etc is just a boring looking desert, and more cause the season can hide enemy atacks or even monster, if there is none of that i can just go back to my play 2 and play mh there
I just want a balance. you have "3 seasons/states" but it felt like most of the time the storms were turned on. "immersive" doesn't make sense when real deserts rarely have storms that block vision and are indeed mostly bright and hot days. if anything I'm surprised there's no HEAT factor for the desert map...
Same with my 2070 super. 1080p medium settings with dlss and g-sync. Looks good and plays smoothly with occasional frame drops. 2070 S has 8 gig of Vram. From what I've read online, cards with 6 gig are getting the polygonal monsters.
@@Yeroc6511 oh stop that bullshit. I have the same graphics card and could barely reach 45 FPS when nothings happening while it looked like dogshit. Your definition of "smoothly" needs to be fixed
Performance is beyond unacceptable and the unnecessary amount of training wheels for all the weapons, for no reason is disappointing. TCS 180 mid animation made me puke a little in my mouth ngl.
yah I was expecting maybe a 90 degree turn max but full on 180 (or more) seems...extreme. long sword spirit slash combo i can spin in 720 degrees from start to finish (on controller, maybe even more effective on mouse)
No excuse for this to not look/run better than world for ps4. Also hard agree with weapons not having enough oomph. I want my world charge blade/GS back. Focus mode aiming needs to be removed asap.
'It's a desert' is a stupid defence. Then don't set your game in one. I'm hoping there are more beautiful biomes. I want something like the Ancient Forest ++
exactly, and it's not like deserts can't be beautiful either. They stylistically made them look great in the 3rd and 4th gen. This one is so muddy, mostly because they want it to look barren during the weather changes that link into the lightning showers that end up happening.
@@kazzinga9605 that's assumptions tho. we can only base feedback off what they presented to us. we'll judge that when its time to judge, but for now, any feedback is gonna be about the beta we just played.
@@PWARGaming yes, but i work in the videogame industry, so i know how it works, the openbeta is an offset branch that is developed at the same time of the main one, to look as polished and finished as possible, to show and test it with the public. Those data are used in the main branch that will carry it to the end as the product we'll have
@@PWARGaming is also true that is possible that the map would remain the same, for the fact that they showed us a lot of trailers with it. But the Open beta version was limited, a lot of areas were blocked by invisible walls even though in some trailers they were in those places
1440p, i9-9900k , 7900 GRE had around 90fps high settings (not sure how much higher it can go just left it at recommended) I hear it was more demanding on lower end cpus.
It looks like PS1 blobs because they are running out of VRAM, blame Nvidia. They are targeting 30fps experience on current gen consoles and performances scales up from there. Game appears to be using mesh shaders so its not really designed for 6 years old GPUs, time to upgrade.
PWAR what pc specs are you running? I assume you have a 4000 series GPU at least. I was doing pretty well on my 3090. Were you getting that FPS at max settings?
4070ti and 7800x3D(prebuilt btw). I was running most settings at high, nothing on ultra. I "could" get to 140ish fps when nothing else was open(with frame gen, actually 180 in title screen) but it wasn't stable, dropping down often depending on area/weather/monsters/base camp. so for me personally, I'd like it to be more stable/consistent with only 1-3 frame variance and not 10-20.
@ yeah Ultra is a trap setting high looks amazing as is. That’s what my 3090 defaulted to. Wasn’t perfect but damn near close. I’m thinking of upgrading to a 4070 TI this Black Friday tbh and possibly also get an actual X3D processor as well.
@ that shits gonna be hellla clean tho when we get this alleged fully optimized build they’ve been cooking. Hopefully we get some sort of pre release version beta or early access to get the finishing touches judged by the community.
What I wonder is I have an rx 6800 which by no means is a top end card, I believe it's sub $400 and I've had NONE of the things I saw online. With fluid motion frames enabled and quality upscaling I got 100 fps on high settings 1440p ultrawide during the beta. Game looked and played really well especially for an open beta bar some textures that were obviously just missing. I kinda feel cheated out of the polygon action XD
whats your cpu? the polygon is from low vram users, but fps wise that's pretty impressive for that card and res, but performance problems could be the issue of people getting decent gpus, but crappy cpus. also that fps is with frame gen?
@@PWARGaming 5700x3d, I run full AMD since forever :'D through the good and the bad... yeah with the driverside frame gen and upscaling I managed to get 80-100 fps on high settings at 3440x1440. the framegen always doubles it so it was 50 native to 100 framegened. the ingame framegen ghosted like crazy but fluid motion frames from the drivers worked really well for me. I guess the 16GB vram of the rx 6800 kept things going then, I noticed on afterburner it said that 12GB vram were reserved even though ingame it only said 8GB reserved so yeah, the game just demands everything it seems at leas tin its beta state.
@jideoforojukwu4263 well, if you play FF XII age of zodiac back in ps 2, and compare it to this game on low mid setting.. you see not much difference in graphic lol..

R5 5600X and RX 6750XT. No Issues at all. People complaining with their 20XX Series Cards - c'mon, those Cards were released 6 years ago what did you expect ? And for the low Poly Issue, i'd suggest updating your drivers.
less than 3 months left - capcom devs will be working overtime to optimize PC without making more problems to console version. Sadly as predicted, this franchise will crash and burn like Dragons dogma 2 bcos of lazy devs
I had little to no issue on PS5. Idk where all this footage of bad PS5 gameplay is coming from but it looked fantastic on my tv and frame rate was solid most of the time.
My issue with these pc gamers that have game rendering issues is that they are using 6-10 year old hardware. If you use an i5 9600k (2018) paired with an rtx 2060 (2019) with 16gb ddr4 RAM (2014) of course your system won’t render the game properly. This is basically equivalent to trying to play a ps5 game on a ps3. I know I exaggerated, but that’s the point. You don’t need a high end pc to play this game, any specs close to the ps5 is fine. Upgrading the GPU alone does not do anything, especially if every other components are 4-5 years older. All you’re doing is bottlenecking the performance. I was able to play this game on a handheld pc with little issue after a few tweaks.
for the pc the lowpoly stuff isn't because the graphic card was not powerfull enough, but it's a simple bug of the LOD stop talking about nonsense and criticize the game for a simple thing. What have we played was an open beta, it was obvious to have bug and strange things, it serves as a test or stress test for the developers to understand what to do and to have the feedback. This Open beta files were 6 months old and at the same time the real game kept progressing with optimization and bugfixes. The final game would not have the n64 models, i'm sorry guys. btw 20/27 fps was perfectably enjoiable, there are some tweekings to do to optimize but it's not that bad how people describe it.
The game hasn't even released yet, chill dude. Also, GTX 1050ti was released 8 years ago and it has only 4GB memory, you really think it will be able to run this game smoothly?
I'm assuming you're being sarcastic/facetious. - People complaining about performance on 8 year old hardware might be a little unreasonable. However, those who are also unable to get stable fps even on mid range 30/40 series cards are warranted in their complaints. I'm fortunate enough to have a beefy PC but it still hurts seeing a MH game be inaccessible to a large number of PC players. (If you were being serious about expecting a 1050ti to still run the game then I apologize for the spiel)
What did YOU think of the Beta? Could you run it on PC? What do you think of console performance? What do you think of the weapon changes? the monsters? The map? Let me (and capcom) know!

I thought ps1 polygons looked better
Performance issues are performance issues. Mainly for me I disagree with the abandoning of careful positioning because for you to turn and hit the monster you still would need intimate knowledge of monster positioning and intimate knowledge of button inputs. Cant just say that allowing players to turn attacks magically removes the need for careful positioning you know. Id agree to lessening the need but not outright abandonment like you say. Plus i think turning your attacks would be a second thought cuz everyone would be too focused learning the timing for offset attacks with the monsters.
Zero problem, 90+ FPS on 4070 Super at 3400x1440 with default settings
I really hope they fix the performance on PC. I’m not a big fan of the kinsect Glaive. Which has been my main weapon since world. Not being able to bounce off monsters sucks.
I only recently upgraded my PC and this game was a big reason for that. I was sure a 4070 and a 12600k would be enough. But i cant even get 60fps most of the time. :(
What settings are you playing on? Ultra? One of my friends has the exact same specs and he's getting 80 on high
Works fine for me too
@@centralunit100 let me guess, frame gen?
That's because the state of your PC is dogshit, might be a good time to reinstall windows since you cant take care of your system. Can confirm a 4070 and a ryzen 5700x3d runs this game maxed out, 1440p, DLAA with over 130 fps consistently.

i0m superstrong because that bugs are not a problem at all, lol. Some LOD stuff won't change my mind
-
Outside of gameplay, I agree that the performance is a major problem.
Agreed with the opening part. Runs like absolute dogshit on PS5 and my 2070 Super

A lot of people said this is a problem with the r e engine
lol... The CPU bottleneck is an engine issue, RE will need to be gutted to be fixed... And then we have Dragon Dogma 2, yeah wishful thinking.

No hitstop=shit
Thank you for offering all impressions mate. It is good to hear all positive and negative. Even if it is nitpicky. Most "reviewers" are just shills, mate.
One thing that pissed me off besides performance on Xbox Series S was how much monsters run away.. It feels like 50% you're attacking the monster and then the other 50% you're on your Seikret running after the monster.
Omg i agree 100% and i feel like no one cares its crazy
Yeah, they run away after each hit xD
This has been a thing tho in pretty much every MH game but I will admit it seems a bit more prevalent in Wilds. Especially with that hairy fuck Doshugama… I hope it gets patched out.
Over exaggeration..... they run no more than they did in previous titles.

There are gameplay issues I hope they change like some stuff with lance, cb, and ig, but biggest issue was by far the performance
yah ,fix that and 95% of the people will be happy with the game overall. people just want to run the game, we already know its fun for the most part.
Didn't get any when i played. Over 60fps.

100% agree with you on the weather thing. I'm glad they wanted to try something new, but it doesn't matter if it isn't appealing to actually see in-game
@@plus-delta4477 the game needs some challenges as certain monsters and events only appear with weather changes
Dodogama is harder to fight than those monsters in wilds combined haha(jk lol)
true, I felt that too, ray dao was easier that the doshaguma lol
Not being able to craft decos is scary.
It’s a beta… let them cook
@Ashamran I feel its unlikely that the full release which is out in only 4 months will somehow have significantly better performance than this.
I accepted 30fps and under for well over a decade since MH was only releasing on handhelds.
To be honest i still put settings in 30fps mode because my veteran brain evolved that way and can dodge better.
BUT
Performance in this beta was bad!
They need to fix it ASAP or they damage their reputation.
Also base Ps5 not being able to hold 60fps in performance mode is really bad.
@@Ashamran when was the last time in monster hunter franchise in which beta performed significantly worse than full retail version at release?
(gonna pick all gunners and a HH npcs if i can )
@PWARGaming Yeah Caoslayer made an indepth video about them. In the beta you couldn't choose them, they just show up similarly to players.
Plus if you cant notice the improvement in the graphics, detail, and mechanics then the issue lies solely on you.
probably if the graphic is bad and the game is heavy, that means smething don't you think? in the background there's a lot of stuff
i thought the level design was great, the addition of the mount allowed for such great use of enviroment because you arent capped by movement
4:50
Absolutely not, the ability to aim your character where you want them isnt a "making game easier"
Its a basic QOL that should have been there since the series start.
I dont mind some attack diminished values when the characters turns more than X degrees.
But fast weapons as longsword, sns, dd, glaive etc should be 100% about turning to face the monster correctly.
Nothing was more infuriating as to hold the fucking W in worlds and it took 2 hours for the character to turn where I fucking want it AND THEN attack - this could be the problem of input priority, as movement should be above attacks (which lock you)
But focus mode in wilds made the melee weapons so smooth and good to play in KBM that i will probablynever play world again, as I couldnt imagine playing without it
also clutch claw and clagger are gone so FUCK YES
Absolutely yes it does make the game easier. This is not a QoL change. It's a really big change to gameplay.

Its jus legacy clunkiness and it took them WORLD to realize KB+M is objectively the most superior method of controling games.
the blob stuff is purely for PC due to low vram issues, both consoles didn't have the issue as far as im aware

Eyyyyy! Glad to see you back.
I built my PC 10 years ago and havent updated my drivers in the last 40 years... it ran like butt on toast and im pissed
I played this on my potato of a computer and i’m not sure why i felt so compelled to continue playing the beta despite it running at 25-30FPS on low settings lmao
@@ExpiredAmmonia cause it's good
cuz its fun still, but even more the reason to fix things, otherwise people will be missing out on a great game just because of dumb performance problems (or having a "lesser" experience in the case of low fps).
The first minute seems like a pc problem. Haven’t got that on ps5
yah, pc specifically. but still, it'd be nice if they could get steadier/locked 60 fps on ps5. there have been several test graphs showing ps5 performance mode runs sub 60 a LOT(mostly 40-50 90% of the time) if the resolution is gonna get murdered, it needs to hit 60, otherwise its better to just go graphics mode.
@@PWARGaminghave you seen how many bots you have here in comments? Holy hell, capcom is really mad
It ran fine for me, RTX3060ti paired with a Ryzen 5500 cpu and 16gb ram, 1080p with DLAA. Poor optimisation imo. The community manager said that the game is in a better state already comapred to the beta
I thought the weapon impacts in Rise were better than this demo and, in some instances, better than World.
Just upgrade the pc man. No need to refund something you know your hardware can't handle
Seikret has manual controls that are much better than the auto route
"immersive" doesn't make sense when real deserts rarely have storms that block vision and are indeed mostly bright and hot days. if anything I'm surprised there's no HEAT factor for the desert map...
my 2080ti played it with no issues, but maybe EVGA was just built different.
Same with my 2070 super. 1080p medium settings with dlss and g-sync. Looks good and plays smoothly with occasional frame drops.
2070 S has 8 gig of Vram. From what I've read online, cards with 6 gig are getting the polygonal monsters.
@@Yeroc6511 mine is 12 GB, it has occasional polygon. it happens mostly on far/distant objects.
I loved it looked great on 3080ti
No excuse for this to not look/run better than world for ps4. Also hard agree with weapons not having enough oomph. I want my world charge blade/GS back. Focus mode aiming needs to be removed asap.
Yeah let’s just remove the feature the entire game is built and balanced around, they should hire you
I'm kicking every LS user from my lobbies. No cheating in my online lobbies.
This one is so muddy, mostly because they want it to look barren during the weather changes that link into the lightning showers that end up happening.
that map probably would change a bit, because it's a demo and it must work for the demo. the real game it's different
Yeah, I couldn’t even play the game on my PC
1440p, i9-9900k , 7900 GRE had around 90fps high settings (not sure how much higher it can go just left it at recommended) I hear it was more demanding on lower end cpus.
Cries in i7 8700k
It looks like PS1 blobs because they are running out of VRAM, blame Nvidia. They are targeting 30fps experience on current gen consoles and performances scales up from there. Game appears to be using mesh shaders so its not really designed for 6 years old GPUs, time to upgrade.
Performance is absolutely horrendous
@ what manufacturer for the Card btw?

R5 5600X and RX 6750XT. No Issues at all. People complaining with their 20XX Series Cards - c'mon, those Cards were released 6 years ago what did you expect ? And for the low Poly Issue, i'd suggest updating your drivers.
Tell em. It's like beating an old horse and telling it to keep up with the heavy work load.
Every game dev should optimize that their game performs great on a 1080ti, the GOAT of gpus.
that card is ancient as fuck bro
The performance is a huge issue. PS5 in particular is unacceptable. I wont buy on PS5 the hardware is too shit
less than 3 months left - capcom devs will be working overtime to optimize PC without making more problems to console version. Sadly as predicted, this franchise will crash and burn like Dragons dogma 2 bcos of lazy devs
Played it on the series S without any issues and the game looked gorgeous so I'm honestly at a loss with the problems I keep hearing people having
welcome to pc gaming where experiences are really polarizing
I had little to no issue on PS5. Idk where all this footage of bad PS5 gameplay is coming from but it looked fantastic on my tv and frame rate was solid most of the time.
Bandwagoners... im convinced at this point or just spoiled gamers. They see 1 or 2 glitches and all of a sudden the game runs terribly. Smh
@@jideoforojukwu4263those and the people that want to use 8 yo gpu/cpu and have good results. They are upgrading even slowr then consoles ffs
Game ran good for me but looked muddy. Full game is gonna be a peach tho

This game is gonna cost me 500 bucks (Game + New GPU) to play it since my 2060 is severely under powered!!!
wonder how the ps5 pro runs it at $700 don forget your cpu tho, its pretty cpu intensive too!
for the pc the lowpoly stuff isn't because the graphic card was not powerfull enough, but it's a simple bug of the LOD stop talking about nonsense and criticize the game for a simple thing. What have we played was an open beta, it was obvious to have bug and strange things, it serves as a test or stress test for the developers to understand what to do and to have the feedback. This Open beta files were 6 months old and at the same time the real game kept progressing with optimization and bugfixes. The final game would not have the n64 models, i'm sorry guys. btw 20/27 fps was perfectably enjoiable, there are some tweekings to do to optimize but it's not that bad how people describe it.
so they went from PC Master race to PC Mustard race 🤣

People complaining about performance on 8 year old hardware might be a little unreasonable. However, those who are also unable to get stable fps even on mid range 30/40 series cards are warranted in their complaints.
I'm fortunate enough to have a beefy PC but it still hurts seeing a MH game be inaccessible to a large number of PC players.
